Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0

Manteos is able to complete the whole UE race on one tank of fuel and one set of tyres and forgets that the pit stop is mandatory.

Manteos realises this himself at the end of the race and reports his mistake. Under SROU rules I have no option but exclude Manteos from the race. Given the accidental nature of the action, I believe this is sufficient penalty.

Server replay time: 500s

Spanner leaves his braking a tad late(!) at the beginning of the second lap. Despite his best efforts he can not avoid clipping Jimmie who in turn makes contact with Nsfast.
This is well out of character for Spanner and since neither injured party has requested a penalty for the accident, I shall rule it as a racing incident.

Car balance felt good but I had no punch out of the corners and qualifying was a nightmare, barely able to get past GTCs and often found myself having to pass into braking zones which didn't help me or the GTC. Strange 'cause I expected to just fly by on the straight bits. Huh

Looking at race pace I was miles off virtually the whole GT1 field, and 7th is way more than I deserve. Undecided Drove an almost mistake-free race, right up until the last few laps when I made a few stupid mistakes, one big one where I was talking on TeamSpeak and just totally lost track of where I was on the circuit and ran off; luckily didn't hit anything but almost handed the place to Hal9000. What a waste there. Silly spin let Jon go by and dafter attempt to pass Gazza, sorry for that, then hit rear of a GTC who took me by suprise (prolly my bad, will look at replay) and that was that. Good pace JayBlue (nothing to do with CAFC that?) and congrats to all. I've had a shocker all in all in GT1 enduro so can we start S10 again?

CAFC? Not sure what that stands for (although i'm sure i will look like a fool for asking!)  Cheesy

Wiki says: CAFC may refer to:

Charlton Athletic football club, an English Championship football club.
Crewe Alexandra football club, an English football club.
United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
Cobblestone Area Forming Cells
Commercial Activity Function Code
California Fire Safe Council

But i don't think its any of those!

Grats to Jayblue, owning Jon is a major trick. Tongue

TBF I can see it happening a fair bit Grin

Somehow i doubt that. I'm expecting more races like Anderstorp, TBH i was more than suprised i was able to pull a gap last night, and far less suprised when you started catching me  Cool

Also i think its fair to say at least at Estoril the 550 holds a slight advantage on raw pace, but having raced in it there before it choosing it minimized my setup and practice time requirements. As i'm not a factor in the championship i may well pick something else for our next race.

In my head, CAFC refers to Cardiff Football Club (no idea were I got the A bit from Grin), i.e. the Bluebirds. Bit of a "friendly" rivalry with Argyle that is all.

Congrats again on last night, good to have you aboard.

Well done also to "Ugly Butt" Shark for GTC win. thumbup2

LOL, thanks.

I only just got back home to get into qualifying near the start of the session and had done zero practice as usual. Luckily for me Estoril is one of my favorite circuits and I think it really suits the way I drive and the strengths of the Morgan.

Did some banker laps in qualifying to start with and made some setup adjustments. Unbelievably one of my banker laps put me on pole. I only had enough time for one fast lap and it was a blinder until I broke way too late for one of the turns near the end and that was that. I'm sure that was going to be under 1:40 so with a couple of minutes left I was fully expecting to pay the price with Lazlow and Prof going faster. However, to my surprise they didn't so I was very happy.

Did a full tank (now only 85 litres :'( :'( Smiley) and stopped at half way getting a new set of medium tyres and adding a bit of fuel. Worked very well indeed. Had consistent lap times through the whole 80 minutes and once I had started to pull away from Prof at the start I never looked back. Managed to build about 18-20 seconds before the first pit stop as Lazlow and Prof battled each other and then when all the pit stops were done later on (as Lazlow did a late one to switch to softs) I had over 50 seconds on everyone so I eased off and cruised home.

Very pleased with the win. I wish it could be Estoril every week as I love it, but I quite enjoy Magny Cours as well so I look forward to that.

Great drive from Prof for 3rd and the team championship in GTC is still a possibility with some good finishes I reckon. Smiley

Happy with my new Viper, happy with my driving (bar one lapse when near API)... but race was spoilt regularly by others. Angry

I was never close enough for a safe dash inside. I wish I was bolder. Wink
Please don't change TT, it is always a pleasure to let you lap me without fearing for my safety. Some of the other GT1 drivers could learn from your more patient approach Sad.

A reminder for all on the rules on lapping:
   Lapping And Being Lapped
  • The lapped driver should not change their line on a straight whilst being lapped.
A driver may elect to hold a tight line out of a corner and remain on the inside to allow a lapping driver to pass them using the normal racing line.
Drivers should not suddenly slow in the middle of a corner unless they are on the outside and the lapping car is clearly inside them.
  • The lapped driver should hold a predictable line and allow the lapping driver to move around them. The lapped driver may blend off the throttle slightly to help the lapping car past; drivers being lapped by cars in the same or slower classes are strongly encouraged to do so.
A driver should never lift off or brake on a straight with another driver right behind them.
  • The lapping driver should wherever possible prefer a pass under power to a pass on the brakes.
This frequently means being patient and going through at least one corner following the driver about to be lapped, setting the pass up.
  • A driver who is about to be lapped shall not unreasonably hold up the faster competitor.
This does not mean that three drivers can jump through a nonexistent gap together while halfway through a chicane, the very second you catch up to me Angry.

If it was a one off I'd let it go, but for a while there have been about five drivers that at each race seem to think they have right of way at all times & that their race is more important. You are wrong. Last night I was cut up by four of these drivers at least twice each (the other driver didn't attend Roll Eyes).

I put a lot of time & practice into my races & I don't want them to end early, please be more respectful to all drivers in future. Angry

Off to try to chillout now. Wink

Wondering if I'm one of those. Sometimes the fights in GT1 are really really stressful, yesterday was one example with TT and FreQ Grin and sometimes that makes us see the GTC cars as something we need to get out of the way quickly. I try to be always clean, although sometimes the performance difference between my Lambo and the GTC's makes me catch them so quickly that I may then try to lap a bit too fast.

I really would like to know if my behaviour on that is ok or not, the only thing I want is to improve that. So anybody thinking I'm a bit too aggressive or unfair when lapping feel free to let me know, be it here or via PM, and we can openly talk about it without a problem - then only way to solve problems Smiley

It might come from old age natural wisdom. Wink

Do not discuss incidents in the forums.

If another driver has broken the rules, or driven without considering or respect for others, use the incident reporting system.

Darn, I didn't lap H@l. Sad   Wink

 Tongue

Not a great race for me. Sad

I have never done well at this track, but I managed to have a few small fights with nsfast and gsi bob. I totally spooned passes on a couple of GTCs. Sorry guys. I was driving more like a 'F1, number 2 Renault driver' last night. I took a drive through after such shameful passing of GTCs, handing 7th to Dave. I could not catch back up to Dave and nsfast almost caught me at the end. A few more laps and nsfast would have had me. He had great pace.

All in all, I am happy with 8th. Smiley

Well done podiums. Thanks and apologies GTCs.
