Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 2550s

Gazza has been in a long, long battle with Simon and sadly tags his rear in turn 10 spinning him around to end it.

It wasn't an attempt at a pass and Gazza was being patient behind Simon but, with hindsight, his nose shouldn't have been poking in anywhere near there. It looks like a momentary slip up, Gazza waited and has duly apologised so penalty reduced.

Server replay time: 4700s

TT is catching Jose at a fair rate of knots as it appears his tyres are going off. TT joins Jose around turn 8 and unfortunately Joses slower pace around turn 10 catches TT out, there is slight contact but enough to send Jose spinning off the track.

Perhaps TT could have taken more care as it was reasonable to presume Jose was slowing for a reason however TT has apologised, reported himself and later waited for Jose, losing another place to Legzy in the process. Jose has accepted that apology.

It took another 5 laps to catch & pass Jure, who made it a bit harder but I think I got past under acceleration out of T1 (great corner that Cool).

I let you by tbh, saw you were much faster and I've noticed you've started dead last plus I'm not a factor in championship, you are.

Was funny though, that acceleration out of T1 (you've slowed down on the outside, I could out-accelerate you, but lifted off) with your lights flashing resulted in "hm, perhaps he hit me in T1 and wants to let me pass," hence you got me completely confused there. But I've decided "Bah, what for, it'll only slow both of us down". Grin

Same goes for Gazza when he caught me prior to my pits (he just got out), it felt retarded to block him for few laps and ruin his and other guys championship. Or both leaders when they caught me up, it's mandatory to let both by at the same time not giving one or another any kind of advantage, at least in my book. Wink

Anyway, myself - had a classic terrible race, scared few of porker drivers (isn't 911 suppose to be good on the brakes? it felt they're braking 40m earlier than I could in the bimmer, almost collected few of them in opening laps), then got a stop&go for speeding in the pits (PRACTICING THE THING then forgot to turn on the pit limiter. argh, dumb dumb dumb.) etc, so I simply quit, lost interest I guess. Cheesy

LOL, now you say that, I'd forgotten you'd eased off... I was flashing a 'thank you' for letting me through Smiley

Still hav'nt quite got the hang of those rolling starts yet!

Nice to race with 24 on the grid, even if it is a bit challenging
overtaking and allowing the race leaders through at the same
time!
Thanks JPV for waiting for me to rejoin following the off incident, you
should have carried on and tried to finish the race really.
See you at the next race,Bob.

Here's the starting procedure.

What sometimes people forget (they wait until they crossed the finish line themselves, which can cost lots of seconds sometimes):
Each following driver should only disengage their limiter when the driver directly ahead does.

Until you've got a team one of your own I suggest using using one of the standard cars skins rather than Team Shark, otherwise people might start to talk. Wink

Thanks Clive!
Don't let me alone,  these guys are fast!

They certainly are!

I have had some advice from Chris (Alias Legzy) with regard to reducing the screen resolution and it may be working.  I managed a 2:22 lap at Road America straight away which was faster than I managed in the race that I took part in in Season 8, I think.

I have been messing with the brakes and dampers to try to build something that I can drive and progress is being made.  It still feels like a jelly on springs compared to any of the GPL mods.

I have a Paul Harrington lap in a Porsche as my benchmark and one thing I can say without a doubt is that I am not smooth enough to get the best out of these things.

I am also having to fight against 47 years of training that says that a car with a roof on should only be used as a tow car to get proper racing machinery to the meeting.   Grin

Hi Lorenzo, that was one of the things that brought my last foray to a grinding halt.  Faced with a car that felt as though someone else was steering it I thought that life was just too short to spend ages painting the darn thing.

Our founding father, VALLEYSBOY (Gareth Hughes) used to be red hot at that sort of thing but he is hiding somewhere in Wales and I have completely lost touch.
I have sent him an email at his old yahoo address but it has just bounced.

We may have to just use the standard ones for now.

I am definitely not spending any time in the pain shop until I find a car that handles well enough to warrant painting it!

If you fancy tackling Magny-Cours this Sunday & want a fairly sensible car choice, try out the BMW Z4 (GTC class). It's a very straightforward car to drive & will help you get used to GTR2  Smiley (when you get used to that, you can move onto something a bit more lairy angel)

On a separate note, I notice that Lorenzo took the F360 in this Zhuhai race. It feels like a really nice car.... & then when you get to racing, it stings you again & again! Avoid that car Wink. In the GT2 class I'd recommend the F430 as a very nice drive Cool.

Just my thoughts Smiley

Cheers Chris.

That's actually very useful as if there is anything that I'm less competent at than driving these things then it is understanding what the classes are and what cars are in each!

I dispute that. To me I can throw it in hard to almost any corner & catch the back end as it comes round, it almost feels like racing the PnG cars. (Great fun!)  Grin
