Oh hell! Guess i'll have to start from scratch again then. Spent a bit of time but barely done any proper laps! struggling to do 2.05's Angry
I was doing it in the F550 (only driven it once before) & I too had all the probs you're talking about below:
I'm trying to get the 550 round here and everyone says its a nice car to drive but, god i hate it! I'm having to up the dampers rather high to try and keep the tyres on the track but it struggles in the slower stuff. It likes to spin the tyres and lock up everywhere, my braking distances seem a bit long at the mo and it still doesn like stopping! Sad

With the exact same probs, I think I reduced the rear slow rebound & possibly ARB as well as a tickle extra coast (& preload). Think I also increased the rear wing/slow bump to help it accelerate round a couple of the faster bends more. Hope it helps Spanner Smiley.
Think I reduced the brake % too, as I was locking it up constantly Roll Eyes

Oops, rather cocked that up. Slammed it in whilst talking when I should have been concentrating.

Much more fun in the GT40 and actually felt I was in a race rather than holding on (I bet you felt the same TT Wink. Still not sure about track Smiley

Good pace, sbg. Smiley Couldn't find the rhytm anymore since you left, was always on the verge of spinning, with 1 to 3 sec slower laptimes. Undecided API started to catch, then stayed away. Grin
I had meds - you guys had softs? Smiley

Didn't exppect to enjoy that one as much
was really struggling to learn the track never mind do times, "now is the bridge after THIS chicane"oops no
As others, had to neuter the 550 big time, 15/55 diff, max hard front max soft rear, harder front bar
57.5F brakes, full hard front dampers, 3333 at the back, naff front grip, but, I could stay on the track as long
as I didn't get over excited with the loud pedal. (This G25 is making GTR2 more accessible for me)
made up a couple of places early on with people wandering around on cold tyres, good fight with Picnic (big warp
on lap 7)
was sort of catching Nsfast in 3rd but I was tryin too hard and kept making small errors
Good race though. I still think it's not an ideal track car combo, but was fun in it's way.

Well that was about how I thought it would be. I'll be staying well clear of GT1s for S11.

No problems to report except for that blinding sun again in quali. I must say though I don't like this circuit; no gradients, no cambers, no scenery and as smooth as a snooker table. Oh and those kerbs thumbdown

Congrats to pody and hard luck sbg.

Pleased and suprised with tonight's race. No problems to report.

I went for the default setup with softs on front which seemed ok although it started to get difficult for the last few laps as the tyres went away. I could see Matt Rowe getting closer towards the end but I just managed to hold on.

Contgrats TT and API. The track seems a little bit bland for me.

I was so far off the pace it just wasn't funny.

Sorry to 57Goldtop who I tapped the back of at the end of the pace lap.

I still don't grok this track and I guess I should've taken the Lambo instead of the Vette. I wondered if my utter lack of pace was a damaged splitter so I pitted, but there wasn't any damage. Swapped from Soft/Medium to Soft/Soft and the car felt better, which was a major puzzle because it should've given me lots of understeer. But I was still 5 seconds a lap off the pace so once I started to get lapped I parked it and watched the battle for 4th, 5th and 6th.

Perhaps I should have tried Soft/Med instead of default med/Med, was not sure how they would last so played it safe.
I should et this thing that tells you tyre wear I guess

One thing: can be mileage, but I don't see myself able to come as near the car in front as yesterday in iR. Might be too soon to judge this on a Skippy race, but I don't think I'd have the courage. Undecided

Quite nice, this Aston, might just be my S11 carriage. Smiley

I had a great four corner sequence side-by-side with Goldie, right-left, left right we went & I just about got past & both of us still with wing mirrors too Cheesy, but sadly that was where the excitement ended as far as a race was concerned.

Tracks OK, probably better with GTC's & certainly worth an occasional rotation in, to mix up with the rest of our tracks IMO.

I had a good race with some nice battles. Smiley

I liked the track and thought that it was a real challenge. It is a bit sparse on landmarks at times which makes it hard to learn the track and its a long lap. The kerbs are just evil! However, the kerbs add to the challenge, with out them this track would be much easier and less interesting.

The track has a few high commitment, one line high speed corners. It also has lots of slow corners and that finial right-left is awesome. I think the track is technical and not too dangerous for a street course. I loved racing the GT1s here and I thought that it would have been far less interesting in the GT3 class though. Not sure about GT2 and GTC.

I did have some GFX issues. The light was too bright at all times. I could not see logos on the bonnets of the cars for example because the light reflecting off them was too bright. I had an issue in the cockpit of the viper. I think it was the shadows. The textures for the inside of the car got all messed up. They would keep going all white and low quility and then go back to normal again at other parts of the track.

I would like to see this track on the UKGTR race calendar. It is a good change from other tracks. Smiley

Well done podiums. See you next time. Smiley
