As much as I value any oppinion here, I'd like to try things and wouldn't like to miss events due to some of the more experienced iGuys already tried it and found out they don't like it. Undecided  I quit iR all the way and only came back to race with you guys. Ok, I do like it better and better and am doing some public races. Must say I have better experience now than I had 6 months ago - with an occasional exception. Roll Eyes

Let's try an oval race and then decide, eh? Smiley

I've not done a Lowe's oval race yet, so looked them up on the Tube... Siverado's going round: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9fCtJo4bwY

Looks like a decent Oval track & is free obviously Grin, but I'm not sure it's one that will do full course yellow's for crashes? If it is, we should go for that one, if not... please pick an oval that does full course yellows (where you have to regroup), one of the big ones with a decent road course attached would be sensible so we can use that in our future hosted season races Cool

IndyCar on Lowes oval sounds like fun, I'm going to try that out tonight Grin

It will do full-course yellows, don't worry.

All the ovals do full course yellows.

That is, of course, dependant on the idiot who starts the server to select the correct options...  whistling  Grin

All the ovals do full course yellows.
Ah, I assumed that because the Legend races don't have them, it was a "size of the Oval" type thing. Undecided

p.s. I'd vote for (in order) either the Radical / Mazda / Speccy (or Silverado Wink)

Is Lowe's a mile long circuit or is it one of the shorter ones?

Thanks Martin.

Well I'm game if that's what everyone wants to do, I'm just greedy that's all and would like a road fix too. Smiley

Let's get the ball rolling at Lowes then Smiley Thought I'd give it a go as I was testing for Chicagoland this week.

I managed a 24.630. That's in qualifying set-up and on lap 4.

Just in case anyone hasn't tried it... Qualifying for an ovals event is done alone and you only get 4 laps to post a time.

Does it work the same for hosted events?

Yes.  I've been in some hosted practice events for ESCORS and oval qually is always 1 car alone for up to 4 laps.  Everyone qualifies at the same time, but you can't see anyone else on track.

You could have open qualifying for a Hosted oval race, you can select either format, but that's the way ovals qualifying is done so I intent to stick to that format.

im in agreement with few others on here, i'd rather the SRF than the skip. I think it would make for closer racing than the flimsy skips allow.

My preferred cars are Radical, srf and mazda, though just bought the vette as well (not tried it yet).

But im a galaxy away from you IR regulars in track time and pace.

I think you'll enjoy the Vette MJ, one of the few cars in iR that has some good meaty engine growl  rockon

Sorry, but I believe thats a rather a red herring. The SRF is equally as fragile as the skippy and I still can't spot much of a difference in handling, and its harder to see out of. Are there any iR cars that can take a "rub"? They would get my vote Smiley
