Just came out of the official Radical race at Road America - started from the pits after my Friday disaster, worked past the slower cars, most of whom simply fell off — one in the Kink Shocked — then had a great battle with Peter Kubin, got past him after a few white-knuckle laps but then struggled to pull away. Then caught Albert de Neeling and had to wait for a mistake whilst Peter reeled me back in again. Slipped by to pick up what was then 3rd after the top 4 or 5 were involved in some sort of humungous pile up.

That's put my iRating up over 2700 for the first time, which is far too high! laugh

Ok, so managed a fair bit of practice tonight unlike two weeks ago. Gotta say the car sucks. It gives you no confidence what-so-ever, is constantly sliding, or bouncing, skidding across the surface. Feels right for what I expect in a real Radical, but it's not much fun. Good news is I wasn't falling off much and was popping in 1:45s in Q trim and 1:46s in R trim.

It's such a release to not worry about SR, you can find the edges of the track and really go for it without fear of demotion!

Still not done a public race since April, long may it continue!

Now if only we had 2 events each week, IndyCar and Lotus. Bwah ha ha. Grin angel

I'm the opposite, I am falling off a lot!

Dipped into the 44s at the end of the practice race but lost count of the mistakes and had a big spin too.

No consistency at the moment

I'm agreeing with Simon about the car.

I raced the Radical around Laguna Seca during week 13 and really enjoyed it, however I'm just not seeing the attraction in this combo for some reason at the moment.

I kind of agree with you guys, this car seems to feel entirely different depending which track it's on Huh

Some of it may be set-up related but my Radical felt great at Laguna 2 weeks ago, a real revelation compared to how I remembered it.

At Silverstone it's back to that horrid oversteery mess that I remember! lol

I didn't realise you were an iRacing member Dan Smiley

From the members site, go to the 'Hosted' section and you'll see the session appear after it's been started.

Paul Harrington is starting the server tonight, hopefully around 6ish for a couple of hours practice before qualification and then race.

The more troubles for you boys, the more chances for me. Wink I prefer a radical here than at Laguna, imagine that! Cheesy

I'll share a setup tonight, hopefully that will help some folks out.

There are quite a few corners at Silverstone where the obvious line is off camber (Luffield and Priory are probably the worst) and it's easy to think that you've got no grip when you're really just in the wrong place.

Sounds good to me Dave!

I have now managed a 1.48.9 but am generally in the 1.49's now!

I'm guessing my set up is aweful as usual but it does let me throw it about where necessary without too many woes! Smiley

Should be very interesting tonight, with a lot of us on a similar race pace (high 45s, low 46s). Paul has to be the string favourite here having done a fair bit of radical racing, although if Brian can stay on the track he will obviously be a threat. Anything for me will be a bonus, so if you chaps could arrange to all trip up like last week it will be much appreciated  Grin

Don't think Mr Richards is racing tonight, he's watching some footing-the-ball.
