I'd like to do a spec 911 IROC race. Those cars require a hair chest to drive.
You and me both Mike ...and i've got a hairy chest

I go with Clive. Bill Look as though we are doomed Bill. They are going to debate it until the scrutineer is stood over them. I believe there are 104 cars to pick from. We'd better get started practicing all of them. You never know, we might get lucky.

Right, I've just done a bit of testing & come to a decision. The two popular choices for this race were either to use: 1) The old GR2 cars (the slow ones we've hardly used) 2) The very quick cars (as a bit of a car familiarisation session for the Christmas Le Mans event + the 911's as they slot in timings wise with that group) Extra info - The fun race we'll be doing in a fortnight after this Spa one is going to be at Donington National. So I've decided that Spa will use all the fast cars (GT40's, 906's, Cobra 427, L88's & anything you're planning to drive for the Christmas event PLUS the 911's) & that Donington will use the older GR2 class cars that were not used in our Clubmans season (Jag Mk2's, Ford Cortina, Abarth etc). Seemed the sensible way to go. With regards weather, I'll try my best to do my "mostly dry but heavy shower in the middle of the race before clearing up again" rain-dance for the Spa event.

did my first recon laps this eve in the GT40 Mk2 here. Jeez its like wrestling a gorilla whilst wearing roller skates ! Spa makes a great test track for Le Mans (and the laps are shorter!) but its hard going in this car. Still messing with springs and settings but 2:44.02 is my early best. Its going to take a lot of laps to get the hang of this beast. No idea where that laptime stands here as nothing to compare against What would be useful, would be if one of our illustrious faster drivers (Paul etc) could do some laps here and LM and post a benchmark time to aim for/demoralise us with

I won't be racing Mark so I wasn't really going to practice I'm afraid. The GT40 Mk 2 is a grumpy old beast at the best of times, so I can't say I would lap in it for fun!

My grumpy beast is currently at 2:46 and I expect that the next few seconds are lurking in the last two turns before the bus stop and the poxy bus stop itself.
Might try dropping the ratios another notch as well. It really only steers properly when its in 1st gear.

Was going to try this depending on server numbers.
What's the story with online setups now? Do they not work? Was hoping to take advantage of another's hard work on the setup!
Tried the Cobra 427 with default and my attempt at a setup and I can't drive or set it up at all, a mistake-ridden 2:51.8! I take it this thing isn't easy to tame in P&G?
Maybe time for a Corvette.
EDIt: Corvette's much nicer, actually driveable. 47s after a quick try. Any pointers to setups would be good though.

The 500 hp 427 is a bit harder to drive so try on of the 490hp ones, All i did with it when i took it last time was stiffen the front and softened the rear, ill post you a setup i used for interlagos.
