Always a joy to hear from you Manteos  :'(

Even in the dry, I for one shall be praying to the God of KERS in the hope he bestows such functionality upon my Ford.

Does everyone else's Mk2 buck like a bronco between gear changes!?

Actually, what gets me it that they seem to have designed a five speed box and then forgotten to put the cogs in for second!!!

blimey 2:41's and 2:42's being found in the Mk2 ?  Sad i cant break out of the 44's in it despite trying various spring and diff combo's. It understeers like a barge.

Got any Italian trade secrets on that Mk2 setup Manteos ?  Wink

I uploaded my setup on humyo, give it a try Smiley

http://www.humyo.com/F/9469759-2153008797

Understeer is a big trouble with this car, I used to go slowly inside the corner with the beast, using a slower coast to let the front going inside the corner, and trying to cause a bit of oversteer and drifting a bit to exit the corner quickly. I will be on the server for some practice at 10 pm, hope to see someone of you Smiley

Its been an age since I've driven the big beasties and had to be dragged away from the wheel tonight  Wink Should be a blast.

Couldn't resist trying many a car and I finally got a ridiculous 34 in about 3 laps in the Gulf. Right, Gulf it is  Wink

That’s totally incomprehensible!

Don’t think I will even bother turning up.

I suppose that was in the dark and rain just for good measure? Sad

And deep breaths and relax now Clive Smiley I was surprised just exactly how much quicker the Gulf was so mentioned it, that is all. I'll wait to see how many arrive and, if there's room, gonna be Cobra or RSR for me.

Gotta say, no matter what system you use, I'd like to see these car choices more often  Smiley

LOL

Well whatever it is I hope it really sucks when the Legzy'z rain dance kicks in.  Grin

I did see a 2:39.xxx in a MkII on the server last night and thought that was impressive.

I've moved all the setup parameters about and can feel hardly any change in the MkII.  Power diff is currently 100% which is totally at odds to Manteos' setup as posted which from memory is about 30%.  I give in.

100% feels ok to me so I'll stick with it.  The other side of the diff is at 10%, I think, and it still won't turn.

No matter what I do with the setup I will not get any quicker until my brain accepts that these beasts will actually corner faster than I think they will.  I throw away all my speed and then, at places like Les Combes, you are stuck with it through three corners.  Very frustrating!!!!!!

I'll get back to the deep breathing.

Did some setup playin last night after MJ saying he couldn't get it to turn in.
Didn't get a really good setup, but It sounds like I was going the same way as Manteos.
I set PowerDiff=20 Coast Diff=50, had to make the front down a bit harder than rear up (dampers)
to stop the back coming round on corner entry, brake bias was 54 front, and still locking fronts slightly
which kills turn in under braking of course. I have long been at odds with other views on diff settings
if it's power on oversteer, then set power differ much lower - like start at 10 and see how much you can run
before it becomes whippy. coast diff = understeer. I run with the least amount of coast I can get away with
Only cars that need 50 or more are Multi coloured pigs and similar. Using coast to reduce oversteer is not
IMHO the best way to do it. Lots of power diff will initially make the front want to go straight under power
but as soon as there is any slip then more will make it more difficult to handle, less will just spin the inside wheel
and not provoke such a violent slide.
Ok, here endeth the lesson dearly beloved.  Cheesy

Tonight looks like being very popular with some well know names putting in a welcome reappearance (me ansum)
The recent spate of 'bugs' in the Derby area and very cold spell has triggered a unwelcome reaction with my lung complaint which has laid me out since Wednesday afternoon battleing for breath.  I don't tell you this for any 'sympathy' reasons (I firmly believe in playing the hand you have been delt by life and getting as much out of it as posible).  I feel much better today and plan to join tonights race - however, as I don't know if I'll last out for the full race and not wanting to take up a slot on the grid that someone else could use I will delay joining until 10 minutes before the race starts. Leading up to the start should Legzy or Tony become aware of someone who cannot join please let me know and I'll pull out.

Damn you Clive, that's a second better than I'm managing, I was relying on you for company Smiley

Sorry to hear that Laurie, doesn't sound like much fun but if you're up to it I don't see why you should miss out on practice - get yourself in there, if there are problems we'll soon know about it via the forum or TS.

This clashes with an iRace don't forget so should be fine on numbers.

Thanks Ligel, but just get yourself online as soon as you're ready mate.
With a few Prodigy cars likely to be on the grid, nobody can be certain of lasting the full race Tongue Wink

Laurie, don't worry about taking a grid spot, there are plenty of pitstalls at Spa. Hope you can make it!

Oily, you can keep me company & show me your new line thorugh Eau Rouge  Wink

I managed to get the RSR down to 1:45.7 in the night-time praccy session last night, I didn't realise the bus-stop was different to the 2004 version and had a few hairy moments, until I twigged!  Roll Eyes

I tried a few offline laps in the wet, got a best of 3:01 in 50% rain.
