Jethro Walters rear ends Al Heller. Al was braking a little bit earlier than on previous laps, so only 1 place penalty for Jethro.

Got a decent start - in the opening laps moved up behind the main pack in 6th but then got Jethro'ed. Cheers "teammate".

Sorry Al, I was rather distracted by things falling off the desk. When the FFB kicks in it makes the desk wobble somewhat. Heavy things falling off the damn thing is enough to make anybody look away, but by the time I realised where I was, it was too late to do anything. I did my best to take myself out of the race in recompense though. Wink

Decent enough practice time with a bodged setup, then borrowed one from Oliver which eventually came good in the race. Start was demon, kept it clean on the outside of T1, then tried to pick my way through the carnage, then found a car parked on the exit of T1 just on the brow of the hill. No chance to avoid it, but with Pro rules I'm sure that would have been a fatal collision. As it was, I got away scot and bloody free! Proceeded to have my incident with Al, which he's quite within his rights to report me for, and had a nice battle with Steve which involved several spins as I explored the limits of the BRM with the new setup. I also proceeded to try and take myself out down the hilly bit where the track wobbles around the polos, the car went over, went back up, clouted the barrier, and went back onto the racing line all in very close proximity to Steve's BRM! Eventually got 7th. I think.

Well that wasn't a bad race for me given I hadn't practiced, couldn't get any qually in (except one lap that included an off) because I only got back home with 2 mins qually left and had to grab a Watkins Glen setup for the BT11 (didn't even have time to check the gearing).

So I made a nice slow start from the back to make sure I didn't make any mistakes.  Had a spin at T1 on lap 7 when my desk came loose, had to put my "bit of wood" back in quick but Bookie had got through.  Then had a nice battle with him until the leaders caught us.  I think he mistook me for a leader and let me through but then I returned the complement a couple of laps later when the next bunch of aliens descended on us!

Thanks again to Fulvio for helping out with a server.  We are trying to solve our server problems, hope to have a solution soon Wink.

I had an intresting time.  I've been to this track before once, but a while ago so took a few laps to remember the way around.

After things settled down I found myself running with Jethro, who I know was faster for most of the track, although I did seem to be able to out drag some up the hill, but didn't want to slow JW (being a teamie) down, so let him have an easy pass, then he spun, so let him have an easy pass again, and he spun so let him have an........you get the picture!  It was quite some spectacle seeing his car go off at the polo's hit them, loop, turn over, hit the barrier and still see him drive off!  I think I went off giggling!

In the last 2 laps I span at Turn 6 and didn't even register Bookie being there, so sorry for pulling out in front of you as I tried to recover from that, hope it didn't disrupt your race too much.

Good fun

A very exciting and eventful race for most of the field from what I saw.

Got off to a solid start and was hoping to somehow closely trail the two demon talents in front in the form of Hristo and Gerard.  However the titans were to clash at the end of the fast return run on lap 1 or 2 so that I was surprised to find myself in the lead for a brief period.  That was until Clive made one of his favourite moves up the inside stick on the right hander after the esses, unfortunately I over estimated his compromised exit from this turn and touched his rear which sent me spinning off and well down the order.

Made a rapid comeback from this by threading through vaious carnage over the next few laps until I was inevitably Jethroed too, though luckily only slightly.  After things settled down I was to begin a several-lap battle with Clive and Syd which was a lot of fun, Gerard had by now got himself back up front and we all passed a badly smoking Hristo.  Unfortunately this three way battle finished with Clive getting a bit out of shape after the brow on the last turn but one, and being committed I was unable to take enough avoiding action as he returned to the track.  Clive was to lose a wheel from this and I was left surprisingly intact, but Syd was able to take advantage and gain enough of a gap to hold me off for the remaining seven laps or so to take second.

A very enjoyable race, apologies to anyone if I appeared a bit aggressive on occasions as appears from the replay, I was caught out by the proximity of cars a couple of times and was just moving to take my line- honest!

Grats to Gerard and thanks to Syd and Clive for making the race so much fun!

I'm quite relieved that you were able to continue after the "incident" Dave. I was really enjoying that 3-way tussle with you and Syd, after the initial laps sorted themselves out.

The difference in handling and power at different points between the 3 cars made for a very entertaining race and I think if I had not put a wheel on the dirty stuff it would have gone to the last lap. Undecided

That rear wheel on the dirt twisted me back onto the track a little more sharply than I had expected, and when I felt the contact I was concerned that I might have taken you or Syd out of the race as well  Shocked  But it looks like you both survived and had a good finish. Wink

@Oliver
I watched replay and I understand your disappoint for  our crash, but as you can see there were many cars spinning around while we were running at the opposite side of the track and I had to swerve to the right suddenly to avoid one of them in front of me. It seems you did the same cause another car on the right side so we touched. Honestly I had lost track of your presence on my right side at the moment, I'm sorry it ended your race.

At the start my engine bogged down and I started very slowly, sorry if I scared someone.

Great battle with Tim that slowly was gaining on me.
Ciao
