Moderator's Report

Despite being told once during qualifying and once at the start of the race, a number of people continued to run in the rain with no lights on. It's a particularly silly thing to do if you're in a black car.

Server replay time: 572s

Mo is coming up to lap as-here as they reach turn 8. As-here suddenly slows much more than Mo is expecting and the latter rear ends him.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 948s

Mark Jonzo spins in turn 1 and Shark cannot avoid him.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1312s

Greg's trying to lap Jamera; he fails to get by before turn 2, but as they come to turn 4, Jam seems to be leaving room for Greg to pass, and the latter attempts to do so. Unfortunately, Jam appears to have gone in a bit deep and then turned in later than normal, and he turns in over Greg's nose.

Luckily neither car spins or goes off.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1918s

Shark allows Jon Chadwick to lap him on the main straight, and Gerald goes past too. The first marker board had been knocked down in an earlier off and Shark, unsighted by the spray from Jon's car, totally misjudges where he is on the track, and runs off the runway and onto the gravel and dirt.

He slides back onto the track at high speed whilst trying to avoid running head first into the tyre wall, and collects Gerald who is minding his own business braking for T2 Both of them go off, luckily neither into the tyres.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 2581s

Dave Gymer is nursing his battered F360 into T6 and Mo, who is about to lap him, gets caught out by his early braking, and there is light rear end contact.

  • Racing incident

That was tough. Well done SBG, looked very close with Mo at the end and Gizmo (even though I beat you in my German U-Boat) for his class win.

I usually don't mind the rain, the Lambo is great in the wet, but was struggling with the BMW a bit, was good for my G3 championship hopes when Jon's pit crew decided they'd weren't being paid enough and walked out (perhaps you're car was running Michelins and they decided they didn't have any safe tyres to give you? Wink)

It was quite a race of attrition. Didn't really deserve 6th overall, but as Murray Walker always said "to finish first first you must finish", although in my case that meant "to finish sixth first you must finish".  : Cheesy

Jeez that was tough. First no-stopper race for me (soft wets lasted well) and my eyes were watering and head bouncing after about 45mins. Then to top it all mo began catching me like a bat out of hell when I could hardly focus on the screen. Just managed to hang on and lead an excellent 1+2 for the krawlers.

I didn't see much trouble, apart from the div.1 drivers Wink, and didn't cause much except to Jon, sorry. Thx to everyone for being careful and congrats to Dave.

Bit of a nightmare race, was confident of class pole until Jamera pipped me by 0.03s - gah! Knew it was going to take quite a few laps to warm the tyres up, then had a stupid off at T1 just braking too late and having to turn whilst on the brakes, sailed off and rejoined, broke early for T2 and sailed straight on anyway with cold and dirty tyres. Shocked Roll Eyes

Gathered it up but had damaged the splitter which was giving me mild understeer, never mind, it was still drivable and I figured the other NGT runners would also have offs. Settled back into a good rhythm and slowly but surely everyone else fell off the track and I regained the class lead.

T'was all going swimmingly until I decided to try braking fractionally later in T1, big mistake, got into a bit of snaking braking and "hello kitty" (litter). Then had another much stranger off in T4 where it just didn't slow down. Odd and very annoying, letting Shark back past in the G3 Bavarian Muppet Wagon, but I kept the class win thank goodness, a vital points haul in my championship quest.

Did get bumped by a 550 in turn 6 - was braking very conservatively after my offs, something caught my eye in the mirror, looked up to see it bearing down on me, "bump", luckily for both of us it was just a touch, he got through okay and I carried on. I guess I just caught you out with my early braking, whoever you were.

Had a couple of "after you", "no, after you" moments with Ginsters on the start/finish straight too. Cheesy

Tough break - I had terrible stutters for a couple of minutes when I first joined and then it settled down. Just loading textures I guess. Huh Undecided

Was quite pleased to come in 10th out of 19 runners...does that get any points?

Points are scored per class so you'll get points for sure as there were only 4 of us in NGT. Sad

You were doing really well in the first few laps at least, I was sure Jam and I would drop you easily but you were putting me under a fair bit of pressure until I went off.

Was going along fine, took soft wet tyres and they seemed to start to go off after 20 mins so I thought pit in change tyres to hard wets and repair damage..... Drove to my pit stall and slowed down, then it happened....Nothing, no pitboard or any options so I pitted out went around again and the same thing happened  Huh

Didn't we have a thread about this recently? If the crew hasn't called you in for fuel or tyres you need to tell them you're coming or they don't get ready for you.

I also noticed during testing that if you cut the corner on the pit entry lane you don't even get your pit stall marker!

Got home after a weekend today to find my PC completely screwed, I suspect the mobo or CPU has fritzed  :'(
Can't tell you how much I was looking forward to this one, loads of praccy on my favourite track.

Bad luck - NGT numbers were really thin - and I missed our obligatory tussle. :'(

Congrats to SBG, Dave and Shark on class wins, especially in treachorous conditions; in fact congrats to everyone who made it through.

Firstly. apologies to As-here who I hit when lapping in final corner  Embarrassed - so sorry if i wrecked your race.

Crazy weather and a tough race all round. Jon C had an off early on which handed me the lead! I then promptly threw it all away a lap or 2 later going off on turn 1, giving SBG the lead.
I eventually dropped to 5th after a further spin, so am actually very happy with 2nd place in the end.

Sorry Dave, that was me in the F550 - I couldn't slow the thing down as quick as you could slow the F360.
I'm just happy that you stayed on the black stuff.

Hopefully we'll get sone wet sprint races  Cool
