Moderator's Report

A 1-2-3 for Clark-Hill in this one. The result leaves Rick a smidgen head of Al H in the championship. Apologies for the reduced laps and tight grid, the server issues are being looked into.

Server replay time: 0h00m45s

Start lap incident involving Bernie, Rick and Vosblod.
Vosblod is behind Bernie and Rick. Flag drops then Rick appears to skew right into Bernie.
Vosblod got a fast start and, according to the server replay, clipped Rick so causing the incident. This is borderline aggravated by the tight grid in place. A caution to Vosblod to take more care at the start of the race.

Server replay time: 0h16m30s

Incident involving Baab and Rick Nauman.
Baab makes a pass manouver then cuts back across track too early. More care to be exercised when overtaking.

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10. Why the hell do I keep crashing then?!

Part of my cunning plan to get the Lotus later on...

Re my race. Apart from the Bernie / Rick incident mentioned in another post, I had one spin then spent time playing catch up with Billy until he returned the compliment.
Otherwise nothing major to report. Oh except, after my spin, saw Bookie beached a bit further up. Hope that wasn't a result of avoiding me - decided to sit still and let you by rather then trying to move.

A frustrating session. I managed 10 minutes of quali without problems then had a sudden disco. I tried to rejoin several times but kept getting the 'timed out ' message. I visited the Igor chatroom a couple of times expecting to find it crowded with frustrated drivers but there was nobody there so I assume the there was a problem at my end  - maybe a firewall issue.

I guess no racing season would be complete without some controversy... like everyone I was thrown by the race length issue & just about joined the grid in time after last-minute discussions about it in chat. Was thrown a bit more by suddenly finding myself in the middle of a 3-abreast front row but nevertheless got a good launch off the line & headed to T1 side-by-side with mysterious newcomer BW. Having seen BW's rapid laptimes in qually, I didn't think it wise to challenge too hard for the lead going into Tarzan so was pleased to emerge in second place. Teammate Bartosz was going very quickly right behind & pressured me hard for the rest of the race - any slight mistakes by either of us would have settled it & with Zandy being tricky at the best of times, I was concentrating as hard as poss on not chucking it off into the sand dunes. BW had been well ahead so I was surprised to see him stuck on the grass halfway through & inherited a rather lucky lead. The last 3 laps were really fraught as there were yellow flags & spinners on every one but again I was fortunate not to trip over anyone & just about held onto 1st place to the flag. Hearty congratulations to teammates Bartosz & Steve for the podium thumbup2. Shame about the server problems - hopefully Adelaide will give us some great racing to compensate.

I won't write anything new about that race, because Al have done that already Wink

First two laps were quite stressfoul, because of lags. Whole grid was disappearing for me, and it was very hard not to hit anybody.

Later I've just concentrated on staying as close to Al's car as it's plausible.

The End.

I would like to congratulate my teammates: Al Heller, Steve(b_1_rd) and Tim(Vos) for wining S18 Privateers Teams Championship
