Help. Which is the least difficult to drive? They all felt beyond me at a quick try after installing them. Bill Join me in the 934 Bill. Thanks Tony. Would you please supply me a docile setup so I can start looking at this. Bill

Made my usual 'couple of laps' more for the curiosity than practice and the first impressions are quite nice. BMW Turbo: lots of power, hard to drive consistently. Press the throtle more than half way and the car begins to slide everywhere. Porsche 935: a nice surprise. Very easy to handle under full power exiting corners. Quite easy also to steer when it begins to drift. Need extra care under braking. Porsche 934: by far the easier to drive, althought slower, good power without an extreme kick. A nice option for the Stadium section. I even managed to do the hairpin in 2nd gear with a good exit while the other two cars need 1st gear to a good exit. I can't wait for the very first race with these cars.

Getting out of the tight corners of Hockenheim is a bit tricky for me with all except the CSL non turbo. However, I've tried the cars around some of the other tracks in the series and they seem much better. As a suggestion, I think it would be nice if we had to pick one car to run the whole series so that we could really get to know it. I think it would add to the challenge because some cars seem to be more suited to certain tracks in this series than others. Also it might make for a more varied grid and avoid certain cars being more popular at certain tracks. It's probably the way I will go anyway. Just a thought

I am rather keen to add those kind of strategy elements into a championship but I think I'll pass for this one. The whole thing is rather a new concept and I'd rather not over egg the pudding (I'll explain that later PR). Perhaps some like minded drivers will do this anyway? However the next REPLI-race series is just right for such a challenge so please be patient. That is unless I'm inundated with pm's demanding that I change my mind

You mean not to much eggs, just the right amount.

Had a chance to drive these cars at a few tracks now and thought I'd give a brief evaluation for those who might be wondering which to choose. Speed935 CSL Turbo 934 CSL non turbo Ease of drivingCSL non turbo CSL Turbo 935 934 Comments935 - An absolute monster, but controllable so long as it's not over-revved out of the slower corners. Seems to eat tyres CSL Turbo - A little more forgiving than the 935 and almost as quick. I think this will be a popular choice. 934 - I find this to be the most difficult of the bunch to drive fast. One for the 911 enthusiasts I reckon. CSL non turbo - wonderful to drive, possibly my favourite GTL car! But it is the least powerful of these and I think will struggle for pace. This promises to be a great series. Well done Tony for coming up with this

Great research GT and a very usefull guide too. Although my drive in the 934 didn't seem to difficult, but then I wasn't exactly hammering it, just seeing how it felt. BTW in each race there are going to be other cars available. But you will have to wait for the race announcements for those details. Any lap times for those circuits would be a great aid to me though (by pm if your shy ). Just so I can check that my lap number estimates are correct.

935 - An absolute monster, but controllable so long as it's not over-revved out of the slower corners. Seems to eat tyres My thoughts exactly. Much more controllable than I thought but the thing has a voracious appetite for rubber. After 5 laps tyre wear was up to 8. CSL Turbo - A little more forgiving than the 935 and almost as quick. I think this will be a popular choice.
It'll certainly be mine! Any lap times for those circuits would be a great aid to me though
From a non-alien, after 5 laps in each: 935 1.52.9 CSL turbo 1.52.8 934 155.4 CSL non turbo 156.0 This promises to be a great series. Well done Tony for coming up with this
Well done indeed. Should be a great series.

Guy's re: tyre wear on the 935. Is high wear only on the rears? I've had a poke around in the files and I think I may of spotted where a 0 (zero) may be missing. I'm trying to get in touch with the authors. Tomorrow I will try some laps with the "missing" zero inserted and see if this cures it or gives me a CTD etc If it's a problem we can always turn tyre wear off but ideally I'd like it to be sorted.

Well my "fix" didn't cause any CTD's or miss matches online but then again I can't say for sure that it resolved the tyre wear issue either. I have written to the car mod creators but so far no reply. It may be that the readings are of the scale but that the car itself will behave normally. Can anyone confirm that the handling gets worse with tyre wear. It's hopeless me trying to test it, it's all can do to keep the thing in a straight line.

I tried a dozen laps at Watkins Glen in the 935 and the wear was approx 21 front and 25 rear, by which point it was a bit leary and certainly past it's best. A shame if this can't be resolved because I don't think anyone will want to drive this race distance.

Yes I'd agree with that. No point choosing the fast car if your constantly pitting for new rubber, hopeless. Having read through loads of post's on the 935, a lot of them talking about the handling, not one has mentioned tyre wear. That strikes me as odd This isn't a new mod, just out, so you would have thought that by now, if tyre wear was an issue, a fix would have been put out.
