I think the restart rule is the same as the starting procedure Martin;

"Drivers shall not pass cars in their own pacing line on the left hand side before the start/finish line. Drivers attempting to improve their position by passing on the left-hand side before the start/finish line will be assessed a black flag Stop-and-Go penalty by Race Control."

But you can pass on the right. For that reason most drivers run close to the outside wall as they approach any restart. I didn't realise that you could pass on the right until recently and wondered why drivers passing me weren't being penalised. I now keep close to the wall like everyone else!!

Each driver gets taken into a separate session where you get an outlap and then 4 laps to post your best time. There are no other cars on the track at all.

I *think* these sessions are open for 10 minutes but it will only take you a couple of minutes to do the 4 laps.

All the oval qualifying sessions work this way, if you haven't not one before, run a qualifying session in the Legends to get a feel for how it works.

Just to clarify, you don't have to wait for each driver to do their run. Everyone is on track at the same time, it's just you can't see each other.

What's a fair time round here? Did a 23.537 today with a full tank, will that get me on the back of the grid? Has anyone got any set-ups for here?

That seems pretty quick to me. After a quick test the other day I managed a 24.6.

When posting times it's important to look at your lap count. In qually, you only get an outlap plus 4 laps to post a time. If you're super-quick on lap 5 onwards, that's not going to help much Smiley

I'll post a stable race set-up over the weekend for anyone struggling. It won't be super-quick but it should be easy to drive and will keep up in the draft.

I'm in 24.xxx mostly.  Looking forward to the practice event and this race, it should be intense. Cheesy

Down to 25.033 in race trim, so happy with that so far.

Good to see there's some interest and some oval rookies giving it a go Smiley

I thought it would be a good idea to get teh ball rolling early on this one as drivers do need to do a bit of prep,

Goes without saying I spose but, the setup is crucial for here. I've nabbed a Indy setup from some fast gent at iR, tweaked it a little and getting 24.7s. However, the right hand tyre wear is crazy (50 per cent in 20 laps) what can I do? Is that bound to happen?

Surprised that even hatlapping an oval is ruddy addictive (I don't get out much) and the race should be fun. I will endeavour to attend any pracci sessions as those speeds in close attendance will need it.

I wouldn't have thought an Indy setup would be that suitable tbh, it's a vastly different type of oval to Lowes.

Indy is a lot flatter so will be running less springs on the right so yes, you'll be seeing higher tyre wear.

Try picking up some set-ups from Texas or Chicagoland, they are very similar tracks and we've done both of those in the official series.

Here's the race set-up I promised;
http://www.legendsracing.net/iracing/setup/Dallara/POPS_Lowes_Oval_Race.sto

I tweaked it a bit so it's actually a bit better than I thought Smiley

I can do 24.8's in it with full fuel
