Pleasantly surprised at my qualifying lap - still qualified last but at least I'm consistent. Made my usual good start and had a few close laps before everybody passed me. Pleased my fastest lap was only just over 0.3 sec off my qualifying time. I put my head down trying to beat it but after a few attempts the rain came and by the time the track dried again my tyres were past their best. Congratulation to the podium, well done KC - drivers at both ends of the finishers. Bill Ps since we don't have a choice of suitable rain tyres, I don't try and read the predicted race conditions - just try and cope with them.

Probably even PR had fun seeing these 2 red Alfas fighting behind him with "strokes of red paint"... but it seemed more an issue between 2 "Italian spaghetti eaters", and we only missed a gun to be even more realistic However after this endless fight with Marco, I started to attack the Z06 of PR, but he was sliding around during all the 3rd left uphill corner, and I can't avoid to touch him... or he can't avoid to touch me, same result... However after this touch my car gone in spin... It wasn't fault of PR surely, that was a race contact at all! After that I was just late for a meet with some friends, and I preferred to push esc, a little bit angry with my self, because I surely would prefere to see how it would finish the race... We'll never know it Great fun, and grats to the quick kerb krawlers that were on another planet in this race Cu for the next I really would need an extra eye last night, seeing you both fighting as you were and trying to pass me at the same time while I was trying to brake not too soon for you and not too late that I could lost my braking point. Unfortunately you spun Manteos, I was sad when I saw you leaving the server, as you said would be nice to see how it would finish. Next time. By the way, many taps on my rear end, but all fair and never put me in jeopardy.

By the way, many taps on my rear end, but all fair and never put me in jeopardy. It's nice to read your words! That was surely a bit "agonistic" duel, but I was only attempting to cross your lines many times, to have a better speed leaving the corner, but the engine of the z06 doesn't let me try something better than a strategy like: "hold on my brakes to be closer to you" , (and possibly to be not overtaken by Marco at the same time). These 2 cars are really different featured, and it's "normal" to have some small tap when there are 3 cars battling in an half second, but luckily P&G allows it more than in GTR2, if cars are on the same weight. Our contact was unlucky because we catch each other during the jump, and the weight of your car won the heat against the "lighter" Alfa, that's all. Hope to repeat this duel very soon mate Cu

Regarding the weather thingy, I didn't see your final forecast cause I was practicing. Can you please announce it earlier?
Being the 1st time using it online last night, I was hoping to have plenty of time to get things sorted & in place.... Things came up & I was a few mins late with all my server duties . But I will try to get it on there a little earlier. Worst case, people can check it while the server is being restarted. Ps since we don't have a choice of suitable rain tyres
You're mistaken there Bill. Last night you were in the Alfa Junior, which has the choice of two tyres: 1) Dunlop CR65 184 = Medium wear - Grip 6 - All Weather/Dry conditions 2) Dunlop CR65 970 = Soft wear - Grip 8 - All Weather/ Wet conditionsAll PnG tyres are OK in the wet (unlike GTR2), but some cars do have better tyres available to them. Always worth a 2 second check in your Tyre Manual, particularly if our new Race Forecast is suggesting rain might be on the way

Some of the 70s cars (911 RSR at least) have slicks, which are pants in the wet.

I for one, had a corking race. Think I probably drove a lap or two fighting everyone (except the podium guys) at some stage. Love that F250, it's a hoot! Thanks to all who raced & congrats to the chaps at the front. Might have to consider putting only the Kerb Crawlers on some kind of Tokens ration The season starts proper next week at Goodwood, hope to see you there. Details will be up shortly (but it'll be pretty similar to the Inter-league race the night before, if you need to know now ). Next time is better if I shut up about car pace... GTA would have fit perfectly with these rockets in front of the grid No, please don't "shut up". You were quite correct that the normal GTA would have been too fast round here. The Alfa's had such an advantage on this track (you can see by how many people choose it) being that much easier to achieve a decent time, that the Junior was the perfect match. The other cars needed you to dedicate a lot more time to get competitive. So I thank you (& others) for suggesting the GTA was maybe to fast. All PnG tyres are OK in the wet (unlike GTR2), but some cars do have better tyres available to them. All PnG tyres are OK in the wet unless they're slicks (unlike GTR2), but some cars do have better tyres available to them. apologies for my early exit last night. Really couldnt get into it, didnt like the track/car combo from the start and thought the track was just too narrow for racing. Got nurfed a couple of times in early laps and lost several places and although i enjoyed a good early battle with Tim, it was costing me about 2-3 secs a lap as just couldnt get past a wide enough same spec car here. By the time i cleared Tim, Clive in the next car ahead was some 20 seconds ahead even though he had been just in front of the pair of us when the battle started A recovering spanner added some spice and enjoyed another good tussle, but could just see i was holding up his Fezza for lap after lap so pulled wide. Seemed a pointless exercise to race on alone for another 15 laps with no enthusiam so i bailed. First P&G race i havent enjoyed or looked forward too. Would maybe argue against dropping the GTA too before the race. Yeah it may have been very quick in the hands of the aliens but didnt see any Juniors setting fastest laps last night either Best highlight for me was the rain shower. It came in far more realistically with the sky darkening over a few laps before the rain fell. Very atmospheric and similar to the early MARA races i enjoyed on Brit club tracks.

I'm very appreciative of all the work that is being done to model the weather and to present it in a way that is understandable to an idiot like me. Thank you very much to all concerned. I'm generally in favour of real weather. But Are we not in danger of anglicising everybodies weather? Yesterday we were supposed to be seeding the weather from the Finish winter where it was fourteen degrees below zero and, as I understood things, stood no chance of raining. But we lob some rain in anyway? ? I didn't get the chance to look at the Legzy Forecast because I was busy rebooting my pc, which I always try to do before a race.

it was sleet, not rain best they could simulate for Finland i should imagine, combined with the low temps that kept the tyres cool.

But we lob some rain in anyway? ? why were you of the opinion that Finland had no chance of rain Clive? P.s. As mentioned previously, gtr2 can't get down to freezing let alone -14... We can only tell it to be as cold as possible type thing.

Hi Chris, I think it was the weather underground site saying something like:- Probability of Precipitation (%): 0% 0% 0% 0% 0% 0% 0% 0% on their hourly forecast. Besides that, can it rain at that temperature? Please don’t read this as a rant because it isn’t. It’s just my thoughts on the matter. I’m not fussed about Thursday. The rain was not enough to cause a problem but I just want to know what to expect as we start the new season. Grats on your drive by the way. I tried the Ferrari and the tyres just melted. Remember that I am trying to learn the ropes here and my practice time is precious. If I take the trouble to look at the real weather forecast and decide that rain can be ignored from my practice schedule then it’s going to get annoying if the “uncertainty factor” could chuck a cloud burst at me in the middle of a desert. • If we are going to race in somewhere like Finland, where they stop racing in October, can we not seed the weather from a random day in the previous July? • PnG isn’t a rally sim so why should we try to replicate January weather? • If we were racing at Silverstone in July and the real weather forecast said 40% chance of rain then I would expect just about anything bar a shower of frogs and your pre-race forecast would a real boon. Keep up the good work. Cheers Clive

I just want these races to be fun & enjoyed, not a source of frustration. I thought a forecast would help (maybe Dave was right ). Clive, you might want to spend some time playing with the weather generation tool to understand what it's limitations I'm need to review PnG & weather.
