Grats to Ade and pody, and cool 4th for Herr Sore Jaw.  ;

Was fun until I was too busy watching Phil into T1 and that GT500 sees the open county and however much you
tug on it's leash, it just has to go ploughing... Bent front suspenders, struggled round for a couple then pitted
for repairs, fell asleep during the 80+ second pitstop and went off to play with another car.

The 302 is sooo much faster, and easier to drive than the rest, the only way it can be used other than
in a handicap race is for a 302 spec race. IMHO of course.

Dave was right about the start, que est qui ce passe? (sic)

Well that was like GT1 and GT2 class racing  laugh

Very frustrated I couldn't break into the 1m03s in practice! The Shelby 302 is one of the best touring classics I have driven, with predictable power and handling and is one of the few cars that suit Magny-Nat's crazy chicane.

Lucky pole (with random grid  Wink) and battling with oliy, mike and ade in the opening laps as they were all quicker Smiley! Since my replay has not logged for some reason and my memory isn't great... but i think Mike twice in the process of battling with me came unstuck, hitting a stationary car at the chicane when we were having some fun side-by-side and spinning the second time. Thrid time lucky tho! Sorry mate hope I didn't influence any of those events!  Undecided

Running 3rd I had contact with a stationary back marker on the first corner and my handling for the last 15 mins was dodgy! I dropped to 4th and kept dropping off the track refusing to pit before I hit a wall just before the end. Then the suspension was definitely broken.

Great fun and grats to Ade  laugh

What the heck happened at the start? I could only see about 4 cars ahead those further down the order only hove into view as my trademark rocket start shot me through the chaos ahead, where it seemed as if a fair proportion of the grid appeared to have fallen asleep and were only just stirring into life as the rest of the field came thundering past. Shocked Roll Eyes laugh

I think I must have caused much of the problem.  My engine was OK up to feeding in the clutch, then in died on me and despite dipping the clutch and blipping the throttle it just wouldn't catch for what seemed like an age.  It's happened also during off line starts.  Other than that, and my front tyres suddenly going off in the last couple of laps it was good fun I enjoyed it.

Thanks to the excellent setup info I was very happy with the car, also I was personally glad that in practice and the race all the cars in front were Bosses.  An indication of the difference in speed between it and the other cars was that at one stage, before I had an off, I was able to lap PR the first time ever and the last I expect.  Once I got going I was able to pass the slower cars relative easily, except for Tony who gave me some attention, I don't know about exchanging paint - we had Sparks until the flying chicane where you ended up in the kitty litter.  After that I had a number of short battles.  Thanks Tibs for waiting for me after that incident at the flying chicane.  After a few laps you appeared to have sorted your problem and drew away from me.

Apologies to purdie for holding you up, I thought it was someone I'd passed until I checked the times at the start finish.  Had a few more short battles and that was really it.  Pleased I made no unforced errors.

A pleasant night's racing.

No probs at all mate, I'm sorry to anyone if I seemed over-aggressive last night.... it wasn't on purpose, just needed the whole track!

Sorry to Dave too, followed him out the chicane and gave him a tap on the rear!

Haven't had pure fun like that in a sim race for many months!

I knew it would be a giggle but it didn't pan out quite as i imagined it I have to admit! Ade and Mike well and truly trounced me in unofficial qually, with those two separated by only two thousanthfthsfsths. A quick tip from Ade before the start made all the difference as I shifted my brake bias forward from 56 on the front to 65 LOL. That golden rule about not changing setups? Absolute tosh!

Didn't do any practice starts so had no idea what to expect starting from 8th on the random grid. Well, if in doubt, boot it, and that's exactly what I did to launch into fourth by the big right hander. Unfortunately I came through the chicane on lap two on two wheels and the darn splitter caught on the tarmac, enabling me to execute a perfect cartwheel...well all but the landing for which I would have score nil points as I lay on my door waiting patiently to be uprighted!

A quick dust down and the Boss was ready for action once more, time to learn from my experience and try going faster Smiley. Think I was about fifth at that point.

Had a quick tussle with Legz I think, and the it was on to chasing down Andy. Eventually squeezed past but as I began to imagine how at home I'd look like in a Group C Nissan I realised I'd overcooked the slidey bit into the big T2 right hander and promptly parked it in the gravel as Mr. Purdie sailed off into the distance once more.

Eventually got going again, by which time I think Mike was out of the equation for some reason so it was all about Andy again and then hopefully Ade who was 16 odd seconds up the road, cruising it one handed no doubt.

The race was really about traffic from that point on - I can't say thanks enough to those in the slower cars, the speed differential was huge obviously and everyone did what they could to make it light work so cheers guys. Apologies if I didn't flash my lights to anyone, my button's on the G25 shifter and there just weren't enough hands a lot of the time!

I think Ade's tyres must've been completely shot in the closing laps as somehow we managed a hilarious last corner, last lap grandstand finish which topped off a thoroughly enjoyable and surprisingly clean race aside from the damage I did to myself!

Grats to Ade on another fine win and Mike for a good comeback drive to third. Phil, keep up with the prescription meds, they're doing the trick nicely Wink

Great job WT - the Boss is definitely a new GTL favourite!  I Am Not Worthy

I well and truly made a mess of that one. Straight away from the start, I was sideways and losing control. I was the cause of the shamozzle at the start. I caught a great light, but the car in front did not. I didn't want to back out of it for fear I would stall the car so I went to the left to try to drive up along side. The car decided to slide left and then right into the wall drivers right. I felt at least 1 car collect me. It sounds like there were many more. Sorry guys. After this race, these cars demand more respect than I normally give. I enjoyed the random grid because it mixes things up and creates some added action.

Like Purdie said, it took me 3 tries to get by him throughout the race. I met up with W Tony (I think) in the crossover chicane twice. That wasn't my only bobble in the chicane. I spun in that thing so many times I lost count. I know that strip of asphault is trouble, but I don't know if it was damage I took on earlier or these cars are just on the edge it is more difficult to bring them back? Nonetheless, I should have backed off in that section, but I had so much time to make up I kept pushing.

My left rear tire melted by the end of the race. The car became very difficult to drive the last 5 laps.

Big congrats to Oily on 2nd place and fast lap. I thought for sure I'd take the fast lap, but you got me by a tenth. Congrats to Ade too on the win and great pace. I'm happy to pickup GTL again. These cars are a real challenge and treat. Wish I could join you guys at Lime Rock, but I'll be away on business. I'll join the following race.

Didn't get to do any practice for this as I had the lobby connection problems with my new install the night before.

Was told the boss was the fastest, so jumped in that, hoping for mid grid & that's what I got ish (10th I think Undecided).

Joined the grid & realised I'd been put in about 4th, than I made a great start & really enjoyed the opening few laps Cool. But as the fast people came & went, I was left briefly disappointed in no mans land as the people I expected to race must have started near the back or had issues? Sad

But it didn't take too long before I started lapping a couple of people & really started to get into the cars handling thumbup1 (what handleing? Wink)

So was gutted when my GTL crashed at about mid-distance. I felt robbed.

Nice work Tony.
