Ok, now I understand. Hopefully lowering the rev limit by a click or two would do the job in preventing the engine from blowing up. Othewise it is like sitting on a bomb then...

Shocked Mother of god that Beemer is quick, I'm even faster in it than the 935! Engine is very fragile though!  Cheesy
Not tried the 934 yet, but fastest time in the 935 is a 1.59 and a 1.58 in the beemer turbo.

That's cheered me up only 12 secs off your pace in the Grp5 CSL.  :'( I Am Not Worthy

Bill

Going to  upset you more Bill Grin 1:55.4 in the 935  so far  Shocked maybe a tiny bit to come of that yet.

                                                             Cheers Ade

Dear Mr Wiltshire
Just wondering why the race is running with 2x fuel?   the 935 can make it on one tank full (may need new tyres though) Grin

                                                         Cheers Ade

The 935 ain't gonna make it full distance one one set of tyres  Angry 16 laps in and tyre wear on 60+  Huh will be looking at 2 stops for new rubber, shame really coz its a really nice car.
Don't know if the 935 is taken out of the rfactor DRM mod or some car data  ? but they had to change the 935.

Changes Porsche 935 TURBO

- The Grip was at increasing tire wear deficient and undriviable, it was corrected.
Now you can drive longer distances without panic......
- Changed range of the tire air pressure and corrected standard pressure (check and update your setup-files )
- Brake pressure corrected

I know this. I read the same thing myself and that's why I have attempting, in vain, to contact the guy who did the tyre wear physics. Found his email at one site but after mailing him, my mail bounces back with a "I don't want pm's " message.

Bit formal, am I in trouble?

Set to 2x as I hadn't made pit stops compulsory. Some may be able to make it through the distance without changing tyres but they sure as hell will need to stop for fuel.

The tyre wear poll has concluded with the following result

Tyre wear ON - 10 votes

Tyre wear OFF - 4 votes

Thanks to all who took the time to vote.

Consequently the race announcements have now been changed to suit.

Down to 1:54.229 in the 935 (that wont last for too  many laps )Grin  Ive put my setup online if anyone want to give it a try.

Edit: And don't forget to set you throttle and break sensitivity to zero  in your controller settings in game if you haven't already (it helps a lot).

                                                                  Cheers Ade

I have had a little look at the wear rates for the 935, they're ridiculous tbh almost 3 times as bad as the beemer! Shocked,
Car is almost a dead duck.

I haven't tested these cars yet, nor do I know the track. My afternoon meeting just canceled so I can make this race if I download everything and practice a bit. Has anybody tested the wear on the Porsche 934 tires?

I can't recall tyre wear being out of the ordinary on the 934 when I've driven it, though keeping it on the track was another matter.
