In case you have been away from GTL, there have been GTL lobby problems. But.... it's all fixed now!

This is what you do to connect to the server:

1) Download & run this HOSTS HACK
2) Start GTL & select to the lobby
3) Register a new lobby account (I suggest the same name but with a blank email & password)
4) Log in with your new account & you should see a list of servers

euro

If this fix has not worked for you, then please check out this thread for more info/questions: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6869.msg119486#msg119486

But most importantly, do not suffer in silence (also, don't leave it till the Tuesday night Wink).

All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (80 mins)
Qualifying: RANDOM GRID
Race: 20:40 (30 laps = ~30 mins)

Track: Lime Rock Park (No Chicane) Download here
Cars allowed: Shelby GT350, Ford Falcon Sprint, Ford Mustang

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: Standing
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: UKGTL SCC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) This race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0 which will need to be installed prior to racing; please get it from the downloads page.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(5) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Are you intending to run just one 30 min race at these events Tony? Seems a bit short. How about 2 x 30 min races, back to back?

Would love to do this one, but I'll be in Chicago on business. Lime Rock is my home track (1 hour from home) and where I've done much of my club racing/track days. My avatar pic is my first from my first practice day at Lime Rock with my RX-7. Enjoy the race guys.

We probably will do that Phil. But the first race will be the "official one" then if folk want to hang around for another that's ok too.

"Stock Car Challenge" implies cars from that car pack, the server includes the Shelby cars from this pack but the "Cars allowed: Shelby GT350, Ford Falcon Sprint, Ford Mustang" are standard cars.  Huh

Are we racing the standard cars in this race?

I believe the stock car pack is just an addition to the standard cars, so that we can use them in some of the races in the stock car challenge series. This particular race only features those cars listed at the top of this page, so I guess we'll be seeing the new cars as the series progresses.

Hope that makes sense Smiley

CAn't remember actually getting to race here, I remember practicin some for previous events, no idea what a
good lap is. I'm getting low 1:05s in the 350, 0.5 sec slower in the Falcon so far.

Can't get close to my Mini time in the 350. Mid 1.04 is the best I've managed so far.

Ta Phil. Yep I am now into the 4's 4:03 is best, and I seem to have found my pace at that. Can see where I
might go a bit quicker, but it's not happening.

Looks like it could be a 350 race.  Raced an Alfa here some time ago it went very well, better than the 350.  Had a battle with Ian in a Falcon but it was at the time that I had a single core CPU and Norton decided to cut in causing me to lag and ruined it all.

Starting to like these tanks more now and slowly working out how to drive them. The 350 is also quickest for me with my best laptimes around 1:04.7 when I get it right.
