Made a right horlicks of the start bogged it down with no revs Sad then hit the barrier  Sad  (must have got a bit of damage after my little excursion off track ) couldn't stop it from spinning round on most of the slow bends after that so quit out before i did anyone any damage  Embarrassed Smiley  Silverstone should be more 935 friendly .

                                                        see you next time

That's a real shame Ade, after all that practise you put in. Definately looked good for a pod too.
Next time, next time.

I made a mess of the start too. I was watching the pit out light to go out signaling the start. It never changed, but Paulo blew by me on the right instead. That was my trigger to go. Where were the lights? Once by Paulo, it was a pretty uneventful race. I was more nervous about the pit stop than anything else. To be sure, I took extra time to review the pit board and filled her up even though I only needed like 25 gallons. After the pit, I was going for a fast lap with Matt just behind and ended up doing a lazy spin in the tight right after the cut zone.

I like the long race format including a pit stop. The pit methodology in P&G is considerably better though. In time, I could get used to GTL pit methodology too.
Congrats to Paulo and Gold Top for their podium finishes.

Bad luck Ade, I was wondering why you didn't flash past me when you caught me up.

Don't think I've ever gone into a race feeling as pessimistic as I did this one. No point in taking any of the non turbo cars because they were so far off pace, which left the mad 935 or the slightly less mad, but still totally barking Beemer.

Managed to quali about 4th I think and being so far off the pace of Mike, Ade and Paulo, decided to go for the steady approach which paid off for me. I don't think I made a mistake all race, except for one bit of clumsiness running off while I was lapping. Had a nice little battle with Tony early on; I was concentrating so much I can't even remember where I passed you Roll Eyes

Very happy with 3rd and much more than I could have hoped for at the start. Congrats to Mike and Paulo for amazing pace and for all those who managed to finish.

Be nice to see a few more at Silverstone Cool

Replay and results now posted.

Shame that we had such a small grid.

Watch out for some forum chat/announcements regarding GLT in the near future.

For now though next Tuesdays race will be on Tuesday.  Roll Eyes

Well that was fun, if something of a comedy of errors  Cheesy
Made the well advised minor setup change before going to the grid, well you have it to do you know...
and subsequently slid wide and off to the grass at the 2nd turn.. lost time, caught up Bill then Ade then Phil and Tony
Tapped Ade with what seemed the gentlest of nudges in the hairpin but it spun him, sorry for that.
passed Phil as he went all gentlemanly giving me loadsaroom in a fast right, and fell off for his trouble
into the 1st hairpin Tony gets all wobbly and justice is done as I then fall off avoiding him   laugh
Battled with Tony and Phil, then pitted on lap 29, took 25 litres of fuel instead of 25 laps worth, and had to
make a 2nd stop, just set the fuel and hit return, and so they repaired the dented body, changed the 4 lap old tyres..
came out way behind, was on a charge (as far as I am able to  charge) sorry if I got in your way a bit Mike
when you were lapping, I did not want to lose any more time, I was hoping you would be much quicker in a corner
somewhere. Phil gets a stop and go, caught and passed Tony for 4th? I think. Major naffness for Ade, your pace
looked to be similar to PR, and you might have given Mike a run.

Not sure about lights, but don't you get the 3...2...1...GO! in the middle of your screen?

I think the grid countdown is selectable in GTL under "Realism" As I'm never near the lights it's a must have for me  Wink

You didn't hold me up at all Matt. I feel for the guys who totally lay down and blow a lap to let me by. In the real world, it is done more like the way you let me by. That is, don't do anything dramatically different than your normal line/pace. Let the quicker driver by on the straight with a gentle lift after the lead driver initiates the pass or by entering a turn late allowing the overtaking driver the preferred line. You did it perfectly Matt.

You'll know if you are holding me up. I'll nudge you and/or juke left & right.

Unlucky Ade.

I really have tried to stay in front of Mike after getting the lead in the start.
Mike's pace was undoubtadly faster, for a couple of laps I managed to stay in the lead,
but then, after a bad -fast chicane- drive I lost speed approaching the double right
and Mike passed me, after that, Mike went away in front.
With a confortable gap to the 3rd place, but alone on track, I made 3 mistakes each time
I was increasing the gap. So much work for nothing... Grin

Unfortunately, we were only a few, but on the other hand we were good.
GTL has so many classic cars and tracks variety that is a shame, the small attendence.  Sad

Congrats on your astonishing pace Mike and to Goldtop podium and well done to all.
Impressive that in such a hard driving cars, noone (unless the unlucky Ade) quit racing.
Hats off for the
-I'm here to have fun and race with the others, let's stick untill the end no matter what happen-
spirit.  Wink

Cheers

A real shame such a low turnout  hammer - I had nobody to race with, everyone being faster than me.  yes Still it was good fun trying to control that beast for 45 laps - yes lapped 5 times.  Roll Eyes Congrats to podium and Tony for the lovely track/cars combination.  thumbup1 Didn't get anywhere near my PB last night but at least my fastest race lap was faster than my best qualifying lap.  Grin

Tony for the future any day will do me providing the timing is similar to last night.

Thanks Bill, but I think you need some praise for continuing right through to the end of what must of been rather a lonely evening.

Well done Sir!

I would like to be there racing with you Bill but these races are to long for me.  50 minutes is unfortunately my limit.
