In case you have been away from GTL, there have been GTL lobby problems. But.... it's all fixed now!

This is what you do to connect to the server:

1) Download & run this HOSTS HACK
2) Start GTL & select to the lobby
3) Register a new lobby account (I suggest the same name but with a blank email & password)
4) Log in with your new account & you should see a list of servers

euro

If this fix has not worked for you, then please check out this thread for more info/questions: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6869.msg119486#msg119486

But most importantly, do not suffer in silence (also, don't leave it till the Tuesday night Wink).

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (45 laps = ~70mins)

Track: SILVERSTONE 88 (available from the UKGTL Track Pack v1.00)

Cars allowed: Porsche 935 Download here, Porsche 934 Download here, BMW CSL GR.5 & Turbo Download here, Porsche 911 RSR, Ford Escort RS2000

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: ON (Get the Porsche 935 tyre wear fix here)
Fuel consumption: 2x

Server: UKGTL REPLI-race
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) This race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0 which will need to be installed prior to racing; please get it from the downloads page.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(5) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

The lap records are going to be obliterated.

After the compact circuit of Vallelunga here's a circuit that cries out "more power please"

I've just spent a very fast hour in Turbo nutter mode and I'm still smiling (and dribbling a little)

This much fun can't be legal, can it?

914 & Panty no longer available?

by the way: we don't need any skin packs for Repli or Stock car?

Great track for the speed kings and great fun in the turbo cars. Don't overdo the revs in the turbo CSL or you'll kill it within a couple of laps and make sure you know your braking points or you'll end up in Milton Keynes Smiley

The skin packs do apply here Henry if anyone choses one of the standard cars, but effectively I don't think they'll be needed. I don't think the Pantera or 914 are available.

Afraid you missed the 914 opportunity however the Panty gets some more outings later on.

You can load the skin pack if you want. There are some teams that might want to turn out in their colours but I wiuld have thought that would be most likely in SCC rather than R-r but you never know.

I honestly do not know what the difference would be.

I would urge caution though and suggest you make safe your current version and download our one, just for this race.

EDIT: Ok I think I have the answer. I believe our track is Rev. 1.4 whilst the Altbierbude track is Rev. 1.5.

I would still recommend using our track just to avoid any potential nasties occuring unless you are able to race on our server with no obvious gremlins

Sorry.  Undecided

Can't imagine 1:21s, best so far is 1:26.0 with some missed apexes and my Vallelunga setup, some more to come
but I doubt I will shave off 5 secs

I haven't tried the 935 yet. Maybe the CSL is quicker?
I found the site with the records and saw I was fairly close to Sqtr for the record at Mugello (.35 seconds slower). We are close on pace. Silverstone will be a different story for me. I simply do not like the circuit. The sea of emptiness on a flat airfield just doesn't do it for me.
