In case you have been away from GTL, there have been GTL lobby problems. But.... it's all fixed now!

This is what you do to connect to the server:

1) Download & run this HOSTS HACK
2) Start GTL & select to the lobby
3) Register a new lobby account (I suggest the same name but with a blank email & password)
4) Log in with your new account & you should see a list of servers

euro

If this fix has not worked for you, then please check out this thread for more info/questions: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6869.msg119486#msg119486

But most importantly, do not suffer in silence (also, don't leave it till the Tuesday night Wink).

All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (80 mins)
Qualifying: RANDOM GRID
Race: 20:40 (18 laps = ~30 mins)

Track: BRIDGEHAMPTON Download here
Cars allowed: From the Stock Car pack Shelby GT500 (290kW)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: Standing
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: UKGTL SCC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) This race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0 which will need to be installed prior to racing; please get it from the downloads page.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(5) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Is it just me or is pit limiter not working on this track?
I turn it on, and I can still go as fast as I want, no difference with it on or off.

It's been set very high Syd but as there's no pit lane I wouldn't worry about it.

Lovely circuit Tony.  Cheesy
Are we going to use the Bridgehampton or the Bridgehampton 67 circuit?
The first is a FPS killer (-100) the second is very nice (+200) and pit limiter working.  Grin

The first cos that's the one everyone will have downloaded.

And I've just driven both circuits and I think the one we are using is the better version IMO. And I certainly wasn't getting those kind of frame rates although I will concede that the other version has higher rates.

If you are getting low numbers try reducing the shadows setting, works for me and my old ATI card.

Why can't I join? Practice is at 19:20 GMT which translates to 3:20 EST. The Eastern US time zone shift didn't affect me before. Has something changed in the UK?

3rd fastest at end of qual., looking good. Dropped back to pits to fill up, got a continuous "loading Mike Miller" message. Game over.

So has the race started? I deal in horsepower so I didn't realize the 290kW car was the lower powered variant.

I learnt the track and was satisfied with practice, in the race I spent more time in the sand driving over humps scrub etc than on the black stuff.  Eventually I got so deep into it I just couldn't find a way back to the track and eventually the "little people" just took me away. What a load of Parc - I don't think I've ever driven so badly.

nice race track, would be great if the textures were a bit better.

I think I had enough pace to hold on to the back of the mid pack, but I just made a bunch of errors too early on & was on my own. Still keeping going in hope of catching Spanner, but then I got it all wrong at that 2nd left hander & did a somersault role thing, onto the other side of the track. Put me a lap down & a stop n go too. Kept going for a bit, but another couple of little offs was enough to call time for me.

shame you didn't stay hang on in there, Mike left to change cars & you'd have been fine then. Mike missed out too, because he dropped out so late, he couldn't get back in. Sad

Wondered what happened to Phil. Had almost no practice time before the official session, got 3 secs quicker during
prac, then a sec and a half during the race as i learned the track. People seemed to be zooming up on corner entry
then dropping back on exit. Ade got stuck behind me for a few til I put a wheel on the sand on the outside ot final turn
and he was past and ran away. I think Sid might have been next, he got past eventually and then people started pitting
had put my customary overfill in so was surprised that i need a couple of laps splash and dash.

OK, firstly a huge congrats to my teamie Pribeiro who after tonight's race can be crowned Champion. Well done son.

Next, If the race announcement list a power figure in brackets after a car you can guarantee it's for a good reason  Roll Eyes

The fuel caught me out but not others. However at the start I cannot remember how much I had put in DOH.

Hope you all had a good race anyway. I like that track and hope to race there again one day. It felt good in those cars.
