This car feels like a tank after driving the nimble single seaters, albeit a nicely well balanced tank!! The door pillar viewing restriction doesn't help either. Found a nice road setup on the forum and just dipped in to the 36's. I wont be able to do the skippy race so this will have to do for my SROU iRacing fix this week!

36's for me but not got the best out of the car yet. Great car to drive very forgiving which should create some good close racing. iRacings version of Brands is by far the best version yet aswell.

Yes it is, but as it is laser scanned then so it should be!

I don't understand setups at the best of times but I can't even set equal camber left/right on this car Has anyone else had a 'proper' play with the set up? I took Legzy advise, loaded the road course set up and tweeked that am now down to 1.37's with loads more to come.... BUT... I thought I would be keen and try a 'normal' set up but am really struggling to get anything usable!? It ends up with loads of oversteer etc and I end up making the back end as soft as possible and the front as hard as possible! Still working on it ! If you guys have a good set up... is it a balance road car type set up!? Puzzled!

You can't drive it like a 'normal' race car - it's very front heavy and needs heavy trail braking to get the nose in, and lots of throttle to keep it there. But with all that weight it's more critical than ever to be very smooth.

Thanks Dave that makes more sense... but... the road course set up drives 'normally' ie. I don't need to trail brake or anything!? Wierd!?

Because I don't understand these things and missed the road course setup from the theiRacing supplied ones I took an oval one and tried to make it symmetrical and adjusting half way between the 2 initial values. Seemed to work fairly well but I haven't done a 40 min run so maybe the tyres will only last 15 laps. I did check the tyre wear in the garage after an 8 lap run and wear was fine.
Is there anyway to find out engine health after a run or in real time?

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think engine wear is a factor in iRacing yet.
If you abuse it enough you can blow it up but as long as you stay below this threshold,it doesn't accumulate damage.
Does that make sense?

No. There must be an internal damage counter, but it goes from full power to smoke instantly, with no indication it's about to blow. Some of the cars have oil/water pressure/temperature gauges but I'm not sure they have any real impact on engine health.

Not sure whether Dave' setup was very understeery cos mine turns in just fine with a few changes to the road setup. Really nice balance Best of a 35.3 so far after about 20 laps.

The server is up. Please note I shortened the race to 28 laps, just to make sure we could finish on 1 tank of fuel!

Congrats to Gizmo. Don't know how you drove that and got no incidents at all!
I messed things up for myself during practice by getting myself disqualified (don't drive the wrong way round the track, even after an accident) lesson learned. Lucky I was let back in for Q, and managed to get a few laps in albeit 4 secs or so off pole.
I found it a very hard combination and really didn't feel like I could attack at all, I seemed to take a different line through those fast corners out the back of the circuit each time. Down to a lack of practice.
As I said I found it very hard going and was happy not to bin it and bring it home in one piece. Looked to me like there was a lot of safe driving going on out there, nice to see.

We should be racing these Late Models and not the skippy, these are great cars to drive on proper tracks Bit of a mixed race, made a silly mistake staying left when Bernie was attacking and bent the steering. Drove round to the pits to minimise the Tow Time and reset. Over drove a bit trying to catch Don as I thought there were few laps left than there were. Once I realised settled down a bit more an snuck in a new PB towards the end. After last night's disappointment this was refreshing and I enjoyed pushing the LM. It seems you can make small mistake and get away with it, something I couldn't do last night especially with my messed up steering. Roll on more LM races

More More more more more!!! Ditch that crudy Skippy & use the late model each week please! I jump started so had to do a stop go, but 'apparently' did an unsafe pit entry & got a further penalty :'( So was on my own from start to finish (other then a couple of laps near the end when tam mate Blunder drove round with me, but a lap ahead) yet still had a totally enjoyable experience. This car is challenging & rewarding & not that I'd know from tonight's lonely race, but I'm sure it would be great for "racing" (any skippy fans not sure what racing is, let me know ). Anyway, congrats to Dave on the win & cheers to Don for organising.
