You can't see the tyre condition in car TT. What you saw were the condition of the old tyres that were taken off.

Really? Why would I want to know that? Sad I see this as (another) failure. Angry

Because real cars don't tell you how much the tyres are worn in the car, you only find out properly when you take them off.

I was wondering about that as well, makes perfect sense now, cheers Paul.

Ashamed to say I binned it after about 14 laps, was just thinking about pitting and thinking fuel and forgot to brake at the right time for Dingle Dell!
I'd already used my fast tow as I got caught up in that catastrophe at the start. Game over.
Well done to all the finishers.

I'm not sure the software change had any effect on the laptimes. I was one of the seemingly many who went slower last night than Monday but in my case I think the extra traffic just didn't allow me to get in the groove. I could feel I was just not judging the turn in's to the blind corners as well as I was the previous night. Really it's my latent weakness of not being able to relax and drive properly when there is something at stake. I was the same in real life. I always used to lap faster in untimed practice compared to any qualifying session or race. I need a shrink to sort my head out!!

Yes, just been back for a "offline" session and within 6 laps I was back in the 14's again. I was being to tentative last night and not turning the wheel enough on corner entry. That was because I was afraid of inducing oversteer if I turned to quickly but by not doing that I was missing apex's and running wide!!

Heheh interesting reading your comments Ken - I'm exactly the same when the pressure's on. Can think of many occasions where I've felt totally at one with the car in practice and tightened up just that tiny amount during the race, but enough to lose the proper rhythmn. I just tell myself i'm not alone and that over time it'll happen less and less!

Anyway I have to say, despite making one almighty hash of the pit stop, I enjoyed that....a lot! Won't go on about the car and track any more but needless to say I'm chuffed to finally get the chance to race some quick single seaters with you guys. Got a brief taste with the Nippons but that didn't last so this has been just what the doctor ordered  Grin.

Fairly pleased with qually - always nice to experience the rarity that is getting one over on Dan, even if I knew it would be something else entirely to make it last in the race LOL. Great fun in the early stages - Mike made light work of me after I sneaked past at the start - knowing it was likely that would be the last I'd see of him I thought I'd show my nose into Hawthorns to see if I could force a mistake. Unfortunately like a noob I only managed to upset myself, didn't get back over to the racing line fast enough and as a result ran wide on the exit, making it easier than I'd planned for Mr. Minton to steal track position.

Was gifted quite a few spots through various problems with people ahead but kept it pointing in the right direction, despite a fairly major brown pants moment coming out of Westfield sideways and found myself in second heading in to the pit window. As Martin mentioned, despite the best efforts of the lads on TS, unfortunately nothing was going to get me around the fact I'd not mapped my buttons properly on the G25 shifter and basically got lost in menus for what seemed like an eterniyy as I attempted to put a simple splash of fuel in.

The aim going in to this one was just to bring it home in one piece and avoid any post race controversy but I'd be lying if I didn't admit to being a little gutted to missing out on a better finish.

Grats to the podium chaps, seeing that the top two put their fastest laps in on lap 29 really confirms you must have been on it throughout - well deserved, I just didn't have the kahoonas for that sort of behaviour  surrender

I'm off to practice pitting...roll on Watkins.  Grin

Brian then dissappered as we were pulling away and I slowly built up towards a 10 second lead in the early stages. I then spun stupidly after missing a brake point and the gap was back to 3 seconds. Got the back up to 7 as I went to pit. Pitted and was shocked to see I had a black flag for unsafe entry. 14 second penalty and came out about 30 seconds behind Dan. Closed that in to about 25 but then had another quick spin so back out to 29. Got back to 27 behind before Dan pitted but he emerged just up the road. Car was ok but the rears had been damaged in the spin so the car wasn't perfectly balanced especially in the final corner. Dan drove really well in the final 3 laps and had enough pace to keep a gap and I finshed 0.6 secs back.

I see now why i was so far head after you pitted.

I couldn't remember what button it was to turn of tyre changes so spent 6 laps pressing buttons but all i kept changing was the tyre pressures and missing my braking points.

Most of them should read "accident", but iRacing has somehow lost GPL's ability to report the reason for a DNF and calls them all "Disconnected". Roll Eyes

Im with you there mate...i tighten up all the time in races more so in iracing i think due to the fact its a bit more realistic.
