Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 659s

Adam Parle brakes a bit too late into the toe, tries to slide up the inside of Simon Gymer but loses control at the last minute and slide into Simon taking them both off.

Adam is at fault here but there were mitigating factors. Simon brakes slightly earlier than normal (because of the car ahead I expect). By running wide to leave room, Simon probably ends up making life harder (unintentionally) for Adam by being in the middle of the track. Had he stuck to the inside then Adam would probably have gone to the outside and taken himself out. The fact that Adam very nearly avoided contact and only did so by losing control is also in his favour.

  • Adam Parlepenalty — Side contact after braking too late — 1 place lost

I guess you reset your router prior and did not restart iRacing?

I've noticed with BT connection here when I try to join a session after resetting router my authentication can't be validated and I need to log out of iRacing only to sign back in.

Dinner ran later than planned and now having a few drinks.

Can't even make a good job of that as I need to drive early tomorrow so only a few for me.

Hope the race goes well.

Gods sake Sad

That setup seemed OK.  I got disconnected on the grid, started from the pits, perhaps a good thing because when I caught up to TT and was tucked under his wing going up the esses, it got way aero-loose and wedged me in the armco.

I can't be bothered resetting only to drive an unraceable car.

I need to try and work out how to set this damn thing up.

q.10 r dnf Sad

had a good quali with a pb 35.2 for 10th and was keeping on the track and consistently lapping 36s.. ..

start took me by suprise with the stop/start after the green and Dave took full advantage (good racecraft!!)... trying to keep to one side too much and my rear hit the grass and spun, thankfully off the track on the tarmac :\

Caught up with the pack and after avoiding a couple of spun cars at the chicane I spun again....... and caught the pack back up a second time.... was having a tussle with Pops TT... i mucked it up and ran into the rear of him at the apex of the hairpin right-hander  Embarrassed daft move and even worse when its a team mate. sorry again mate.. and the fact i was dumb enough to think it was pops!!

quit after that annoyed with myself

... great car and track combo, enjoyed learning it

Mark Ekins, extremely sorry about the touch on the uphill bit, you gave me loads of room yet i still  managed to wiggle a touch on the inside curb, i hope it didnt cause you damage although i suspect it did as my rear felt odd until the pitstops. Very sorry about that, hadnt tried that line in the Dallara before and misjudged my sides.

Great race with Ken, a few place swaps uptill the midway point when Ken made a break. Then managed to get the place back at pitstops and had some very panicky laps whilst Ken methodically hunted me down, just made it with 1 sec to go.

Thanks again for hosting the race, i've not raced that much recently and thoroughly enjoyed it tonight.

Yes, as Neil mentioned, a great race throughout between the two of us. I was running 4th early on, but a misjudgement at the chicane thing put me on the grass and I got black flagged. I lost a couple of places slowing down. I think the error was caused by the same aero-loose thing that Mike had, as I was right up someones gearbox at the time.

Anyway after that it was the battle between me and Neil and I managed to make a small break as we eased in to the second half of the race. Then when Neil pitted I panicked about the fuel setting I had for the stop. I started dialling some more in while driving and my laptimes suffered. I then over estimated resulting in a longer stop than required, and I was a little slow away because I overshot my lollipop man so wasn't exactly sure when I could move off. Did I get enough excuses in there for coming out behind Neil?!!

I hunted him down but he did not crack under the pressure, as I'm pretty sure I'd have done if the positions were reversed.

My best showing for a while, but we were missing some of the big guns out there. Smiley

Purds, that was TT you had contact with, not me! Tongue

That was terrific fun, I hadn't turned a lap until 20 mins before qually but that's one of my better car/track combo's and Paul Richards set-up made the car feel very similar to last season.

I decided to use qually to put in some more laps in my race set-up so expected to start at the back. The first few laps were great following Blunder, there was a good train of cars that were keeping pace. Unfortunately Martin span it through the chicane and I couldn't avoid his car so there was some contact. Apologies about that.

I was picking up ground on the cars ahead but one-by-one then span off leaving me 6th, a couple of seconds down on Dave coming to the stop.

I didn't make a great job of it but Dave must've had a perfect stop and came out 8s ahead. I couldn't close the gap so had to settle for that.

17th to 6th was pretty good anyway Grin

Grats to Paul, great drive!

Good race,

Qually was close but new the race would be different,  Didnt get the best of starts and Simon got alongside into  T1 . I gave him room and he held a tight line which made it nise and clean but gave me a bit more momentum out and i slotted into second behind Paul.    Stayed with Paul for a couple of laps as i had a bit less downforce and could close up down the long staright but as as soon as i lost the tow he just started pulling .  Settled into a good rythem and just hoped for a mistake which Paul never made.
Paul Pitted first and i pitted a lap later and came out almost status quo . Was alot slower than Paul over the last 6 laps and he stretched his lead...Nice drive mate.  Wink

Good race all .

Cheers

Well I'm shocked. Hoped to beat the 8 laps I managed at Brands & did.

Had a good 1st half, trying to catch Dave, cling to his bumper & a bit of harrasing. Then we had a funny moment when we both cut the corner at the bus stop as we lapped blunder & Ross, he immediately let me through but I wasn't having that, so let him back past at the next bit. Resumed the chase till I made my one mistake of the race & needed a reset. Still had a good drive to the end, love the track & the car was a thrill being so fast....

But I didn't pass or get passed by a single driver. Is that racing? Undecided

What a complete turnaround!

Struggled all through practice and qualiying to get any sort of rhythm together; tried one setup after another, nothing was working, and to add to my problems, every time I thought I was testing one setup, when I went back to the garage it was never the one I thought it was. Huh Was getting really confused and frustrated and could barely string more than a couple of laps together. Finally towards the end of qualifying, my second attempt to pick up Shark's variation on Russell Hodgson's setup worked and despite me still be desperately uncomfortable with the car I decided to fuel it up and hope it would come good in the race.

And boy, did it. I never managed a good lap time in the race but it was doggedly consistent and safe. The start was nuts - it went green and I floored it in 2nd; both lines checked up in front of me, but rather than risk checking up myself I thrust myself into the big juicy gap down the middle, making up 3 of 4 places straight away.

Much to my surprise, the cars I passed, whilst quicker, didn't have the kind of advantage I was expecting, and early pressure from Legzy vanished when he lost it. One by one cars fell by the wayside, and finally towards the end of the first stint Pops was homing in on me pretty rapidly.

I started on 15 gallons and planned to add the same again, probably slightly too much for the setup in the end; not strarting on a full load meant I didn't have to compromise with higher ride height, and my stop was absolutely perfect, perfect entry, stopped bang on the marks, fuel and tyres, uncomplicated exit onto a clear track - I was really quite surprised to gain so much time over Pops, and after the stop I got increasingly comfortable, and was able to stretch the gap out by another couple of seconds. Backed off a load in the last 2 or 3 laps as my concentrating was going.

5th was about 10 places ahead of where I expected to be after qualifying! Especially as I thought I'd used up all my mojo winning my official Late Model race earlier. Cheesy

Then we had a funny moment when we both cut the corner at the bus stop as we lapped blunder & Ross, he immediately let me through but I wasn't having that, so let him back past at the next bit.

I wasn't letting you through - I bit off way more than I could chew and got a cut track black flag - had to slow down. You should've taken advantage as you were certainly quicker. I'm gobsmacked I didn't bin the car in that moment!
