Not the first time I've been wrong and definately won't be the last  angel

The thing with REPLI-race is I was trying to be as historically accurate as possible. This was the first season that the Turbo beasts met on track so it was always going to be about these two car makes the Porsche and the BMW. All the other cars are included as a nod to history. That was how it was back then. It kinda shows how bad that series had become.

The next REPLI-race series is a much slower paced affair featuring a series from the 1960's.

I think you already know the score with me Tony but just to clarify it's literally just a lack of time this end. I've basically got time for one sim during the week and at the moment it has to be iRacing, occasionally I can fit the odd historic race in but not many unfortunately. PnG is also back to the format I prefer but I can rarely squeeze that in either.

I think you've done the most you could do in terms of freshening it up and making it an interesting format although I can understand some might miss the other cars. I had an absolute hoot in the Boss and the same in the 935 at Hockenheim so I'll definitely be dropping in when I can. Obviously the fact that it clashes with iRacing doesn't help, but I wouldn't want you to change that on my account as you you really need regular attenders. For that I think you're going to need to be dragging in some fresh blood.

I wonder if some kind of inter-league challenge with the Bude might drum up some interest in SROU? They continue to pack out four or five servers week in week out so if you could attract a small percentage of their following by giving them a taster of these formats you've come up with it might make the difference?

On that note, until iRacing come up with the full suite of F1 tracks, I would definitely participate in some kind of Sunday night one-make only mirror of the F1 season. Probably doesn't help I know as you've planned endless events already but just to float the idea - I'm always well up for a race after watching the F1 boys and the Bude's GTL Porsche Supercup has been a fave for a while - might be a nice warm up for the GTR2 races on a Sunday....possibly.

I gave up GTL and PnG after a litany of internet related problems. Now I have a laptop which simply can't handle the games! Otherwise I'd have happily continued on my less-than-successful voyage in tin-top monsters  Grin. In all seriousness though, I think the main problem is simply too many races within a 2 week rota with many people choosing PnG, over GTL. UKGPL has suffered from this in recent seasons and had to merge a couple of divisions to keep the numbers up.

I'm not doing repli race because i'm not interested in driving the same car each week & it seems that if you don't, you'll finish last. Roll Eyes A series needs some balance.

I'll be there for some Scc races as some of them seem balanced.

Being hostoricly acurate is of no interest to me, if it means the racing suffers.

IR has no bearing on my attendence... I don't think

Another one here who prefers PnG over GTL.

To be honest I don't have the time anymore to practice for 2 series, so I've decided to stick with PnG.

I don't enjoy spending lots of time setting the cars up, so having to create setups for the new GTL cars doesn't appeal. At least with PnG I have a few baselines setups I can use.

Maybe an idea to provide a base setup for add on cars for those who don't have the time. More work, but I'm sure we can all chip in where possible. TBH I get the impression than GTL is a bit more jump in and race than PnG, for which I certainly need more setup time/practice for.

I can provide GTL setups for cars I've already driven. They may be a bit on the "loose" side but can easily be reigned in.

GTL and P&G are the top interest for me right now. maybe with some GPL races.
Both have advantages and disadvantages. P&G has the 'real feel' driving (not at all cars tho).
GTL has so many different cars, which can be used and taked for the sake of the variety.
Both have millions of tracks, so it's a draw.
One thing for sure, every time I can, I will race at P&G and GTL.

Cheers

I reinstalled GTL for the Pony yank tanks and the obsurdly powered and loony BMW and Porsche turbos. I'm enjoying GTL again.

Good man.  Wink

Ditto to most comments... time is always an issue.
Wasn't keen on PnG to start with but then prefered it!
Once the private leagues in iRacing were started then I spent more time in that and have been really enjoying it so am making that a priority.
Was still trying to do PnG and GTR2 but I dont have enough time and I hate turning up for a race with little practice and suffering because of it!
Hate the skippy so it's down to every other Tuesday in the Indycar for me!

Your doing all the right things Tony, don't take it persoanally!
Too many sim options for people at the moment!

I don't think people are being negative really Tony (though I'm sure it seems so). The thing is, you've started a thread asking people "What's wrong with GTL?"... which is absolutely the right question to ask. Asking "what's right with GTL?" would make for easier reading, but we'd learn very little about dwindling attendances.

Chin up, it was a better turn out again tonight mate Smiley
