These cars are supposed to be fun and slidey, but they are understeering and gripless pigs. Where the hell is the funfactor in PnG?
LOL Here! Well I'm having fun. I have never driven one of these beasts for real but I will say that, in PnG, when you step out of the Falcon and get in the GT350 you think you have gone to heaven! I've been looking for articles that discribe how the original cars behaved but can't find any. To me they feel just like one of these great lumps should. When you want to turn they want to go straight on and when you want to go fast, they want to turn! Perhaps the fun is in the challenge.

The next version of the mod, which has been in development for some time, has improved physics which should reduce the tendancy of the tanks to plough straight on.

The big Falcon is difficult to tame. I've got a fairly sweet setup for it, but like others have said, the GT350 is so much better. I hope version 3 doesn't change too much. Part of the beauty of the mod is you need to really work the setup and driving characteristics of the big yank tanks to get them around quickly. If they are too easy to drive, then they'd overshadow the european handling cars.

To me the american cars drive just like i would expect them too, tons of power but a real handful to turn in and compromised handling. They are muscle cars after all. JR, the setups that come default with the majority of the cars in P&G are deliberately setup understeery and bland. You need to tweak them to get the best from the cars or borrow someones that has already been tweaked ! Not tried these cars or this track yet

Even setting everything to oversteer makes the car a dog. Cars seem very stiff at the front, no matter what you do with the setup, hardly notice any bodyroll.

I've spent the most time trying to tame the Falcon and the least time of all with the E-Type. The latter was abondoned because it didn't seem to have enough in the cornering department to make up for what it lacked on the straight. GT350 SCCA 2:08.619 Falcon (Weslake) 2:12.2xx E-Type Roadster 2:14.109 Guess which one I shall use on Thursday.

If the Jags are that badly off pace, may I suggest someone (who has time) have a go in the E-Type Light 4-Speed.
I'll try them tomorrow night, but getting the info sooner would be better for all obviously.

Please no, not another one make car race..... LOL It's a basic principle of Motor Racing to get your bum into the fastest car available and then go for it! I will try to give the lightweight Jags a go at lunch time. EDIT: Just had a look at the power/weight figures and they seem a good match for the SCCA which probably means that someone who knows what they are doing with the independant all round E-Type should be able to make it the winner.

The lightweight Jag might stir my interest in this race. Still hate driving the tanks and a couple of laps in the other Jag was enough to know it was a no hoper.
I'll give it a try tonight.
