How did I get a car contact on lap 0 Especially as the other 2 cars similarly reported were at the other end of the grid. Sadly I wasn't really in the right frame of mind to race last night and after binning the car after a few laps I quit out and as usual failed to save a replay

Is that right Ross? Looks like you have a line for every car on every lap.

Woops, one mo and I'll fix this - I guess this is why I need to wrote the code to automate it, the manual process is quite prone to me missing steps (like removing lines with no incidents)!
Okay those non-relevant lines are gone now.
However, I need to check something so I'm going to pull the chart for the time being - I've rushed it and may have made a couple of errors.
Cheers, Ross.

Well started at back made think 5 places up on 1st lap, only for at end of lap 2 on last corner i ran wide, hit the barrier slightly, and spun backwards onto the track into the path of Brendan, sorry m8.
Im going to officially drop the Indycar for good now..

Having a bad few races in a row with the IndyCar, its been quite a while since I have done a clean race in this series or the DWC. Bit of a weird one. For some reason (I think the World Cup) I had actaully done a bit of practice and got a qual setup together with the latest build. I got down to a 1.49.3 then according to my iRacing stats but never actually raced.
Unfortunately this series is always just a couple of days after my DWC race which I obviously spend most of the previous week getting ready for (qual mainly to make sure I make the grid). This leaves me little time to prepare but I got about 20 laps in Testing in before work yesterday and put a hashed together race setup based off the qual without doing any long run tests.
I had a good idea that I wouldnt have anything for Brian with my lack of preperation but Dan is the threat for the championship. Qual went badly was on for a mid 49 but made a hash of the final corner, apart from that single lap my only error free lap was my first banker at a 50 flat. This put me behind Dan on the grid so I filled her up with the intention of just hanging on if I couldn't pass him and perhaps jump him in the pits by doing a long first stint.
This was all going to plan. Dan was quicker in the twisties but any gain he made I pulled back in on the straights. Brian was opening up a gap but I was never close enough to Dan in the twisties to make a move and I wasn't going to risk pushing too hard through the corners with a heavy car to try and stick close. Then about 6 laps in Dan had pulled out a few car lengths but I got a good exit of the final corner and got into his draft. I had closed right in by T1 but was going so fast I jabbed on the brakes a bit hard and around she came just touching the tyre wall. I feared the worse but the car was ok but after facing the right way and rejoining I was way behind. I then lost more time in the little right kink half way around. I was following a car through there and misjudged his speed. I ended up having to brake to avoiding clouting him from behind and it half spun again onto the grass losing more time and places.
I think I was 10th and 30 secs behind Brian so it was then a case of damage limitation to Dan. Everyone had great pace and closing gaps to cars in front was tough going. I made up a few places and I went long as planned pitting from second coming out 6th jumping Pops who had great pace as well. Then I was up to 5th and realised it was Dan that had dropped back so I was able to relax a little. Unlucky with the pit exit, I wish iRacing would apply all rules even in testing as these dont show up. I got caught the same way at Brands after testing the pit entry over and over only to get caught by putting a wheel over the painted lines on pit entry in the race. Luckily I know about RA pit exit although it got me in practice before the race. With that it was just a case of chasing down Darren to gain an extra spot over Dan but I couldn't catch him before the finish.
Congrats to Brian for the win and the Gymers completing the podium.

Sorry Paul I think that was me, hadn't I just passed another recovering Legend and this put me off line. I find that corner hard enough when on a more normal line and thus took it steady. I saw you sideways in my mirror and I didn't know if that was because of me or not. Sadly I have no real talent for any of this, I've done enough laps in GTR2 to expect what the car will do but iR is still a closed book to me from that point of view. Well except maybe for the Late Model You can make big mistakes in that and get away with it unlike any of the other cars I've driven to any degree.

I wish iRacing would apply all rules even in testing as these dont show up This would have helped, i must of done about 10 or so pitstops in ofline praccy without even realising that there was a an exit line marked. Know one else made this mistake so stupid on my behalf............. Should have gone to specsavers.
