As it happens, it looks like I shall miss this event  Undecided

My social engagements supremo has advised me that we ( and that includes me!) will be out for a meal with friends on Tuesday evening.

Which is a bit of a disappointment as I was looking forward to 2 hrs of backache and failing vision along with cramp in my right calf and blistered fingers combined with a severe bout of mental fatigue....................................someone remind me why I originally volunteered to take part in this, and why I feel I am missing out on something  Huh

LOL the Time is very clear.....and I appreciate that this is an "Iron Man" event and should be tough, but starting at Watkins Glen seems a bit harsh??? Huh Huh Roll Eyes
Ooops just realised what you meant, copied over from the last race - anyway now fixed. You won't have to traverse continents  Grin

Shame, because the Wazamobile is perfectly capable as a boat...

I'm not so happy about the time change and you said also only 20 min quali that means that the race will start at like 20.50 right? Well I have to try and make it, but if I don't have time to do a timed quali lap it's OK to start at the back?

Perhaps Qualifying could begin at 20:40 or something, if it's going to be 20 minutes session.

I get the feeling some people must have had serious brainfade at the idea that a 75 lap race is won on the first lap. Copse had carnage, Maggotts had some more, and 3 people were out after 5 or 6 laps.

As for my own race, after taking it considerably easy, I waited around a second after the flag went down to be clear of the melée in front. That didn't completely work out, I had to take evasive action to avoid somebody on the racing line of Copse. Then Vosblod slowed down to avoid the carnage in front of him, and I couldn't work out where to go. I hit the brakes when I realised what was happening. It wasn't a high-speed tap, but enough to send his car and mine spinning. After 5 or 6 laps I spun with no pressure in Woodcote and ripped 2 wheels off my BRM. Game over sonny!

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10. Why the hell do I keep crashing then?!

Engine blew after 10 or 11 laps Sad.  My fault I kept overreving.  Never mind need some praccy in these cars.

Must confess I got caught up in a couple of those early incidents.  Not sure if one was my fault, I did try to keep to my own side of the track Roll Eyes

Managed to avoid all the the L1 carnage through virtue of Qualifying on race fuel  Grin

Made 2 silly mistakes, first of which dropped me back to 6th (From 3rd technically as I span immediatly after passing Goran for 3rd) fought back up to 4th, and then had a quick 360 - that mearly lost me 3-4 seconds on Bob who I had hounded down quite well up until that point  hammer

It all went to pot at about half distance when I heard the HDD's go mental followed by about 2 FPS as entering the S/F straight with Goran and Bob only about 4 seconds ahead. Made my best guess at the black stuff but drove into the bank while still blind and rolled - then for good measure hit the bridge at speed and my engine exploded!  ninja

Annoying as I seem to have had the pace to be back at the pointy end come the finish  Sad

Made a poor start & was overtaken by a few people off the line - saw Phil (I think) go wide at T1 so hugged the inside line but got thumped on the run down to T2 which killed the engine. Haven't seen the replay yet so no idea what happened but did think I was keeping well out of the way.

Bit gutted - got through 53 laps and low 20's was feeling like a home run. I was just determined to finish and, Fulvio allowing, 3rd place would have been a bonus.

First lap was interesting - I could see problems ahead at Woodcote with no obvious way through so the only option was to slow and see if I could thread my way through. Reared by Jethro and thought this is it - not even a single lap but, amazingly, the Lotus was unscathed.
After that it was a lonely race spent pacing to keep Fulvio at 700 odd yards punctuated by being lapped occasionally. I'd gone in to finish so was expecting a lonely run anyway.

22 laps to go and crash to black screen - oh well, I'll keep plugging for Iron Man status  Wink

I wanted a polestart and got it.But I did  practice a lot for that. I fear the t2-t3 sequence packed in traffic.
I got a good start and all went well till lap 36. for some reason my car started to get twichy during brakedowns and I wanted to push a bit to keep my 15 sec lead til there was about 30 laps to go.
I lost control during brakedown and span in t3. For some reason I got dq for that. Anyways I kept going with BW in my mirror until lap 55 when he just disapeared. Since I got no info I kept going as fast as I dared, and ended my 75 th lap in first place. So unless my dq will stand I m happy with my first ukgpl win.
Big thx to backlappers who gave way although there were no blue flags for me. Smiley

Well, it was long.  Very Long!

Great shame so many went out so early.  It ended up, for me, 70 + laps of hotlapping on my own mostly, quite tedious.

One by one all but Fulvio and myself dissappeared.  I was just about to let Baab (the leader) through and he dissappeared too, initially I was worried I may have had some input on his exit, but apparently it was a disco.  I did let a ghost Lotus go, which turns out to be Tom (Hiro) but had no idea who or what position he was in at the time.  Tom finished a good lap in front of me, and in turn I finished a lap ahead of Fulvio, so all a bit spread out.

Tom deserves the win, as I wouldn't have been able to maintain anywhere near his pace even if I did know he was there.  So a provisional 'congratulations' to him.

Again, a shame for most others to exit like they did.

I had similar issues to most of the others.  With about 20 to go I was ejected and couldn't rejoin.

Wondered what happened to you kinghiro (Tom?) as you were setting a good pace then seemed to dissappear from prib.  I could see someone in front, which I suspected was you hence thought prib was wrong.

Surprised I managed to concentrate for so long, my car's handling changed quite a bit on 20-30 laps of fuel.  I had one spin apart from a few 1st corner issues where I could have been hit through warp.

Did anyone else experience cars jumping around like grasshoppers?  Was a bit tricky when lapping, did something happen to the server?

Interesting event, can we have some more 69s?
