I read all your ideas, and I found some of these really good. From my experience, I can tell that making a good car balance for every track it's something really difficult, and when the P&G 3.0 will be released, we'll have some other work to do testing again how every car is balanced agains the others. I can say this, seeing the results during our Italian P&G championship ROTW, in which are engaged even some MARA friends: it's impossible to give a Token value to each car for every circuit, because every car in P&G, fit better in some circuit than in some others (probably an Alpine would be competitive agains an Alfa Volumetrico in a circuit like Limerock park or Monaco GP, and absolutely uncompetitive in tracks like Riverside Can AM or Monza just to make an example), that's the real trouble in balancing these old cars.
In the ROTW Championship there's a simple running system. They divided the 12 races of the champ in 3 Garages, and the 4th event of every Garage was a Single Make special event. Every component of a team (composed by 3 drivers obviously) had to choose a different car on every circuit, and at the 3rd race of every garage every teammate should have driven all the 3 cars available. Generally every garage was composed by a fastest car, a medium car, and a slower car, to let all the drivers to compete in the first places at least one time per Garage. However this system don't need necessarily a team composition.

1st Garage was composed by:
-Lotus Cortina Works (the slowest of these 3)
-Alfa 1600 GTA (Not Volumetrico!) (medium car)
-Alpine Renault (fastest car)

Each driver had to chose a different car in every race during this first stage, that included these 3 circuits:
-Leipzig 67 (Link to the official practice laptimes by clicking on the top of the page on the Circuit Name:http://www.racingontheweb.net/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=265)
-Mosport 1977 (Link to the official practice laptimes:http://www.racingontheweb.net/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=265)
-Donington park (Link to the official practice laptimes:http://www.racingontheweb.net/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=265)

As you can see by these laptimes, these 3 cars, driven by drivers of quite same skill (leaving the first 4-5 aliens always in front), are so close in these circuits, but to prepare a champ like this you need a lot of testing work in every circuit. My idea is to exploit this work to make less comparison and testing, at least to give an idea of which cars should fit better to have some close races with each other.
The last year Chris tried to follow a similar way, and some of us gave him a hand trying to balance the cars in some groups, but in my opinion cars were too much to be tested in only 2 weeks before the race, and this fact caused some starting grids with really distant times between slowest and fastest drivers, and sometimes especially with the Tokens system, some of the fastest drivers had only few chances to compete for the first positions, that sometimes caused some bad feelings, because the car range every race was too high in my opinion.
My idea is to use every database of laptimes in all the championship in which some of us had been involved till now, like that of MARA friends, or Mike Miller Race 2 Play races reports, our ROTW P&G Championship etc etc. to work out a solution that in every race can put even the slowest drivers to compete sometimes in the front rows, but not with much than a 3 cars choice in every race, because it will be very difficult to find more than 3 cars that can battle with the same pace.
I believe I have a good deal, and I hope I have been equally clear explaining my thinking.
I conclude thanking Legzy for his great and hard work till now, and all people like Paul, Ian, Mike (forgive me if I forget someone) that every time has tried to help him in this work. I'm sure that here will be find a valid person that will follow his pretious work. I'll be always available to speak my mind and help you to work out some good races for this great Comunity!
Cu guys Smiley

First of all a big thank you Legzy for organising the GTL & P&G series last year. Good races especially the cracking 3 hr Le Mans endurance race.
Really appreciate the effort! Maybe you end up like that other former director, talking alien gibberish and taking podiums like clockwork  Wink

Personally I'm up for everything (Le Mans endurance with Mini's?) and looking foreward what our new director has in store..

Mike,
Are you offering to run the show if you can get a 'server starter/results poster' type assistant?
Yes
Nice.

So who enjoys racing PnG here most weeks that would be happy to step up to start the server & post the results?

(Reminder - Starting server = 5 mins before race  /  Posting results = 15 mins after race)

I'm happy to anouce that Goldtop and I will be managing the server and planning the events next seasion. I will be testing the on vehicle/track and format duty while Goldtop is on server/results duty. I will not be able to make all the events, but will make it to as many as possible. I'm currently testing the slower group of cars in the handicap format I'm planning. Last weeks race at St Jovite should give you a taste of what's to come. The format will include pit stops so I suggest you practice those early. A lot of time can be made up or lost in the pits. I'll share more details in the coming weeks. I'm looking forward to continued close racing with the group and hope I can hold the torch as well as Legzy has done so.

Many grats to Mike and Goldtop for their new hard work!!! I'm sure that you'll go on with the same passion of your good predecessors Smiley

If you need a hand for testing the car, or something I can do to help you, I'll do it pleasantly, and don't be afraid to contact me by pm or something else, now that I'm slowly returning to drive by my steering wheel Smiley

I can only wish you a good job!

Happy Easter to all UK Simracing guys!!! CU soon on track!!!

Glad to be onboard for this and really looking forward to what Mike has in store for us Cool

I'll be learning the ropes behind the scenes over the next few weeks and hope to keep things running nice and smoothly for all our PnG events.

Can you lift a tip of the veil and tell us if there are any endurance races planned?
Would love to see them return to PnG  Cool

Thanks for all your hard work Legzy and good luck in the new GTR post (more money? Smiley).

Best of luck to Tudor and Mike, although I'm sure you'll be fine.
