I like the new lower series poll. Can we have a similar poll for upper series (cars you would be prepared to race) or just run the one vote & the two most popular win. No need for seperate upper/lower voting.

I was trying to think of a witty answer to that but failed dismally.
LOL. It was a toss up between that reply and... Normally when I see the sentance "if it goes wrong you can..." it doesn't end in "drift". I don't think that would even be the Blankety Blank 50 point answer.

Is there really no entertaining having an endurance series where we do 80+ minute DP races
80min DP races on a Sunday .. gets my vote! and then keep the Indy for the Upper Sprint on Tuesday! now thats a good plan!?

I voted Indycar but it looks like a forgone conclusion tbh. Let's hope I like the Riley then, I'm am looking forward to finding out. It does seems very popular so it must have something going for it.

One request if we stay with the Indycar: Let's do the Milwaukee mile oval rather than the big speedway. I've told of my love affair with Milwaukee on previous occasions so I ditto this request. I hear the reasons against but it's such a good venue for many cars, I'd recommend it as an early purchase for any newcomber building up their iRacing portfolio.

or just run the one vote & the two most popular win. No need for seperate upper/lower voting. As it seems we don't want to run the two most popular cars, I'd like to vote for the Radical & Mazda as the upper car. They may be 'C' cars (in iRacing's weird ranking system that puts the Skippy as a 'D' ), but how fast do you need your car to be upper? To compare the Mazda/Radical to the other low cars like Late Model / Jetta / Legend / Skippy... is a little crazy to me. But it's probably just me.

Have to agree with Legz on this one - I too was surprised to see them in the lower category given their speed. Ok the Mazda's half the power as something like the Riley but it's also half the weight - never looked at the Radical as a slouch either!
I'll be happy racing whatever we end up with. I do think a combo like the Late Model and Mazda/ Radical would be a great combination of slow and slippery Vs. fast and nimble though, and I also think they're both quite accessible. Not too tricky to drive at a reasonable pace but still a challenge to drive on the limit.
As much as I'm up for trying new cars, the LM and either of those two would probably throw up the best racing for all abilities IMO. Edging towards the Radical as it's available less on iR schedules.
As for Sunday races, absolutely fine by me but you'll be putting a nail in the coffin of UKGTR I would have thought!

Splitting the cars into 'upper' and 'lower' was to try to create quite distinct series, not necessarily to pick the two most popular cars.
The cars are split by the iRacing license level, C and below and B and above.
The lower cars are easier to drive and easier to set up, the upper cars are the opposite.
That's the theory anyway.

Is it worth running one thread on this now!? Seems to be a lot of strong opinions! on iRacing !? I will be gutted if we drop the Indy car, since the new build I find I am getting better and better at it! I get a lot less incident points now and can live on the edge a bit better. The new set up's from the Sharks... ( Thanks guys ) have made a real difference. I now use those as a base set ups, way more forgiving! Done a couple of public races too and have had a good experience! I think mainly as the car / lic level seperates the men from the boys! Just my thoughts! Looking forward to spending more time racing with you guys! ( in iRacing )

I will be gutted if we drop the Indy car, Me too, but this is just for S3 isn't it? We may choose to return to the Dallara in S4? I haven't got one of these Riley things yet, but I'm hoping it can't be a bad car when it has so much support. The only thing that worries me is that lots of people seem to like the Late Model too, and I hate that on the roads!!!

Lol... isn't it strange how everybody seems to have such strong feelings about this or that!.. See I love the LM cos it's fun! I tried a DP public race at Road Atlanta last week! Loved that car too but I had more incidents points with that than the Indycar!

Yes, this is just for S3. For S4 we'll have the V8 Supercars and Williams F1 to consider as well. I'm not sure if that's a or a :'(! I guess my ideal position is that we eventually get to the point where we can do 'proper' Endurance length races (80 mins +). Unfortunately this means weekends and realistically it means clashing with UKGTR on a Sunday night and I understand why Dave is reluctant for that to happen. I hope eventually we can make an Endurance series work with iRacing but maybe it's not quite the right time at the moment. All the pieces are there for when it is though and it will only improve as new builds come through.
