6th in my first public race! 40laps was really tough!
Concentration was going by the end!  Smiley
32 laps should be just about ok!
I'm better off now I have learnt not to burn the tyres in 5 laps!  Wink

New setup on TS site - 1:13.6 with a fairly banzai lap on race fuel.

I'm finding this combo very tough Sad Into the high 1:14's but not really often enough for my liking.

I tried your set-up Dave but it just doesn't suit at all. I'm much better with my Infineon set-up.

I've added mine at the TS site.  I start at low 14's and get down to mid/low 13's as fuel burns off.  Can't quite make my mind up on the 60/60 or 45/45 diff.

Went on to speedtest.net and the line is running at 7mb download and 0.3mb up.

The pingtest shows the line to be grade A. 39ms ping, 1ms jitter and no packet loss.

Not sure I will be racing tomorrow night as the plans are to go out again, but hopefully I will be good for the Skip next week. All I will need to hope is nobody else uses to much of the bandwidth.

If there is a practice server running tonight I will try and join in just to see if the line is up to the job.

Done a (most likely never to be repeated) 1:12.9 on very low fuel on the same setup.

Gotta say I'm completely confused by the fuel numbers here; my calculations show far less being used than the F4 predictor even after a few laps, so I'm either going to end up carrying way too much, or running out. Roll Eyes

As I say, I doubt I'll be able to repeat. Best I could do tonight on low fuel was a 13.3 and that was taking huge risks.

Did a 32 lap run to check fuel and tyre wear. Both are light, at least on my setup, and that was despite a couple of quick spins. Average was in the 14s, so if you can manage steady 16s or better you won't be completely out of your depth.

I've ended up using Mikes version of the setup, as he says, a little more pointy. I did manage a couple of 13's in that open session. I got a couple of pointers from watching you in cockpit. There was one turn I was taking a gear to high and you also showed me the correct turn in point for the left kink over the brow. That is definitely my weak point, or should I say weakest point!!! I see Brian was well in to the 12's, good for us he's going out drinking instead!!!

Only done a few laps to see if connection was good and it seems it is.

Loaded my IRL setup and although I was making loads of mistakes mid 12s were coming in almost straight away.

We are all planning to head out tomorrow night to meet up with some other guys we used to work with, so I'm doubtful.

Most us went out last night and between the Indian and the drink, the meeting in the small conference room did not smell too nice today. Better not do that too often.

Best of luck if I'm not here.

Brian, do you use iSpeed at all? It sure would be interesting to compare some laps with yours, making mistakes and doing 12's, it really makes me feel incompetent!!!

It's a simple data logging software similar to the old GPL Replay Analyser. You can compare saved laps and see where time is lost/gained.

It is more than that though Ken. For me the biggest thing it offers is the real time display of the delta between you current lap and your best lap. It really helps you see where you gain time and lose time as you drive, especially where a small gain is multiplied by a long straight. Looking at a trace afterwards can be useful, but when you have just driven a corner and you can see it helped (or didn't) it is extremely helpful.

Yes, certainly Paul. I have just been doing that this past few days after rearranging my monitor leads to be able to move it down by my raceframe. It is very helpful as you say to give an immediate indication if a certain line or method of taking a corner is beneficial. The speed delta is good for that even more than the time delta. It can be distracting though when you want to really concentrate on putting in a good lap after you've figured out the best way to do it. I have to turn the monitor away to avoid the temptation of a quick look!!
