Steve_T jumps a position during the formation lap. This mistake does happen from time to time. Please can all drivers make sure that they are aware of their position at the start of the race. I would give a warning for this but, no penalty has been requested.

  • Steve_T (SteveT)warning — Jumping a position on formation lap.
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

picnic and Steve_T are fighting for position when they make side by side contact. picnic looses a good few seconds and it looks like he took some damage. picnic had just passed Steve_T and Steve_T made an immediate attempt to re pass. Steve_T uses all the available curb and a bit more and would have only just made the corner without the contact. However, picnic was only ever going to be make contact or hit the wall in avoidance. It looks like an over aggressive overtake attempt at that early stage of the race. Please use more caution in the early stages of an endurance race drivers. I would give a caution but no penalty has been requested.

Not a fan of that track at all. Flat, dull and huge divide between the nimble/power cars. That may explain the poor turnout.

Really fear for GTR Sundays future and respectfully ask that the new man is placed in charge asap whilst there is, for me, still an opportunity to revitalise it. Surely when we get full grids for PnG there is still a chance? If not it will be iR Sunday no doubt which sounds like, erm, fun Roll Eyes

I tried to hold my line or give room, but someone stuffed it behind me I think while trying to lap, sorry if I got in the way.
Dont like the track in anything so left so as to keep out of any more trouble
That would be me trying to keep up with TT. Couldn't get past you on the short straight and was left far too wide. I ran into the end of the barrier at the left hander killing the car dead. Shame as I had a sniff of a podium tonight.
More time to enjoy the golf I suppose.  Cheesy

Good stuff Legzy, Prof. 3-way fight for good long time. Tough track. Smiley
I'm with you, sbg, I fear the same thing. Don't want to let-go of GTR2, for me it's way more fun than iR. Sad I hope the low number are down to track choice. Was it on purpose, Dave?  Wink

Track is decent enough (for the occasional visit we do), certainly a tough one to complete... my panel beater is on overtime! Roll Eyes

Had some fun racing with TT at the start that was more what I'm used to in UKGTL not UKGTR2! Shocked I'm sure we probably both came away from that with scuffed paint jobs! whistling laugh Once him & prof were past, they were gone like the wind Sad

Kind of felt like I was stuck in reverse after that, dropping positions continuously. Roll Eyes

Came out the pits on the tail of McFids & from there the race was one. I think he'd be the 1st to admit I seemed to have the edge when we were both on fresh rubber, but gradually (just like in the 1st stint) he seemed to come good as i went downhill... I think that if the race hadn't ended short, it would have taken a miracle for me to stay ahead!! sweatdrop

Forgot to put my race setup on at the start of the race. Had to come in quite soon as 5L fuel and soft tyres were not going to cut it.  Roll Eyes

Eventually caught some GT3s and had some nice racing with Steve, Matt and JPV. Smiley

It took a few very bad attempts at passing before I realised it was not going to be that easy. Sorry Matt and Steve.

I was very lucky to be able to continue after Profs car went through my windscreen during the incident mentioned by Matt. 2 sets of battling drivers catching each other while the fights rage. The outcome was unlucky.

Shame the race ended early. Well done podiums, see you all next time. Smiley

Was getting bumped too much while "racing"

Sorry, one of those was me. Once I'd recovered from the initial mayhem I was caught up in and followed you through the fast twisty bit after T1 I was completely unprepared for the difference in speeds between out 2 cars. You seemed to continue ok at the time, I hope there was no real damage.

Is it normal for both those cars to show up as "NGT"? Undecided  (the porka & the Mosler)

EDIT - Err, I don't think it is, because McFids has not scored any points in the championship.

No, but it's all better now (assuming I've got the classes right!).

I really enjoyed last night, mainly because the Mosler was good around this track and I could race (thanks for the -5kg physics tweak, Dave Smiley).

Was just keeping up with the 3 way battle between TT, Legzy and Prof but Legzy dropped back as his tyres degraded and Spanner closed up. Managed to keep Spanner at bay and passed Legzy after some fun racing. Legzy was back on my tail after the pitstop and got pass me on fresh rubber so I was glued to his rear for the remaining part of the race.

Legzy, you're probably right about me getting past you if the race hadn't finished early but I'm not sure I had enough fuel plus my engine was on it's last legs at 50%. So maybe that worked out ok for me in the end Smiley

Apologies to SteveT who I rammed when I lapped him - my bad. And congrats to the podiums

I hope the lack of numbers for this GTR2 race was just a blip; I can't justify or really afford spending a ton of cash on IR atm. It is interesting though that the 1st race of this season was full.

Was happy enough with a 1.11 qualifying though it only got me 12th on the grid.
Apologies to Phil (picnic) who I overtook on the warm up lap, I couldnt see you on the grid and thought you were behind me which is why i kept re-overtaking, I thought you were jumping a place. My Bad.

I enjoyed it early on but the intense concentration I needed for this circuit got to me after a while and i made a few mistakes, then the leaders coming round to lap distracted me and I made some more errors, why do I always let lapping cars distract me enough to go off track? That meant I lost touch with the only car i was competing with (JPV I think) so it was a lonely race from then on and a slow pitstop (I must learn pit strategy) saw me way behind to the finish

Once again i stuck with the Vertigo for this one and depended on its light tyre wear for a possible advantage come race time. Quali went ok, Berger was too quick in the Spyker for me but i thought maybe in the race i could keep up. After around fifteen minutes racing he started to get away and i had no reply, my front left tyre was already feeling the strain. Then i noticed in XD it was only a 58 lap race and realised i could do my stop without adding any fuel. So i stopped earlier than planned and also only changed my front tyres. After this the car had a much more oversteery balance and was tricky to drive but it bought me the advantage i needed to manage the gap back to Berger until the flag.

A lucky win for me i feel last night and TBH i think for Zhuhai i must change car again as the track is very point and squirt and the Vertigo is definately lacking in the squirt bit  laugh

I hope the attendance picks up too, i have been in a few GTR2 leagues and seen a drop off like this and those leagues are all gone now  :'(
