Guys, I'm still having an issue with getting online to use multi-player.  It seems I'm having to re-register every day to get online with both GTR2 and PnG.

Legzy, I think you said you had this before, have you remembered what you did to stop this happening?

Anyone who can help, would be much appreciated.

It might have been that I created a new profile and just used that... Rather then having a new one I had to keep creating/swapping to before going back to my original one.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was some fault in my proper profile.

Not really much help, but I've had the same problem over the last couple of weeks. A real PIA having to re-register every time you want to access multiplayer. I gather others have been experiencing similar problems recently, so it would be good to know if Legzy's solution works for you.

I've setup a new profile in total, set everything back up, and re registered.  I'll tell you tomorrow if it worked.

I've just tried to get online again and the problem is still there.  invalid name/password.

Any other ideas?

just want to make sure you didn't move your PLR file over to your new profile or anything did you?

I haven't had any problems at all. I've had the same profile since GTR2 first came out.

When you look at your PLR file does the line in the multiplayer section that says
Online Password="/////////" say what you expect it to?

I ballsed mine up once by putting in the wrong pw on a LAN game and then the darn thing reset itself to what I had just typed.  And I had forgotten the correct one.

Thankfully I had not loused up the GTR2 .PLR file and could see what it should have been.

Legzy; no, didn't move the PLR file, just deleted everything from within PnG and started fresh.  Maybe I should trythat again and also delete the GTR2 file??

Clive; everything appears ok with the PLR. 

I can get online if I re-register once each day (perhaps after a re-boot?), after that I get invalid message and then have to re-register again.

It's not a show stopper, just annoying, like goldtop said above.

Sounds like its not saving the details in the PLR file. Make sure nothing is read only or blocking write access to the whole folder

everything is read/write.

Guess I'll just have to go on re-registering every time.

Mind you based on my performance tonight, maybe I shouldn't bother.

Did the problem go away?

My brother is having a similar problem in connecting to the lobby but in his case he gets a message to say that the server cannot be found.

This is strange because it worked yesterday; although he did have to re-register and also enter the eleventy million character GTR2 ONLINE PLAY CODE.  I assumed this was due to his not using PnG for several months and it had gone into a sulk.

sadly no.

Never had the 'cannot be found' problem, only the invalid message.  GTR2 is the same.  GTR evo works fine, but guess its totally different server.

Kind of given up with it.

I've done nothing different and it seems to have sorted itself. 

Now I just don't have time to practise! Oh well.
