I'm looking at potentially making a few tweaks to the start times and race lengths for next season. I propose the Star Mazda races are 40 minutes. I think the DP races should go a bit longer, an hour would good but this might be getting a bit too long for a school night There's been a request to push back the start of the races. What do you think? I'm particularly interested if you would be significantly affected by the start time change. BTW, I'm open to the two series starting at different times depending on who's racing what.

For the DP, I was thinking we'd do a mandatory pit-stop, but fuel and tyres optional.
Mazda, no stop required.

40 minutes always felt about right to me, but I still feel like a noob so I'm probabably fine with races up to 1 hr. Starts around 8.30pm have been pretty spot on for me although a little later, eg. 8.45pm wouldn't be a problem.
Cheers, Ross.

Since I can be working until 8pm sometimes, starting Q at 8:20 or 8:25 would be enough to at least allow me a couple of laps in practice. During the season, if I had a late finish and got in in time, I ran Q with the race fuel load to use the session as practice.
15mins Q then means that even a 1hr race will be over by 9:45 at the latest.
We have developed a new rota at work which looks like being much friendlier to me on race nights, but I can't count on it not being changed.

I think i'm the only one here that would like an earlier start! But then at the moment i have all day to wait!. Anyway, I think as long as we can keep to finishing around or before 10pm i'm happy. Bit nervous about pitting, i have never done a scheduled stop yet and am still confused about it

As you might have guessed it's me whos pushing for the later start. When I have to do my Dad's taxi run, which looks like being most Tuesdays from now till July, then I normally get back in just on 8.30pm. So if qually started at that time I could just make it, but I wouldn't necessarily be in the right frame of mind to jump in a car and hit my PB within a few laps. I'd certainly try to get on the server before leaving the house to get some practice in, but basically I'd be away for about an hour and then rushing back in to sit in my raceframe and attempt a qually run, not really a recipe for even a half decent grid position. However if it meant I could race then so be it. I'd certainly prefer an 8.45pm qually and 9.00pm race, although I fully understand I'm the one begging, and so I shouldn't expect to be the chooser!!
Of course another night would solve the problem completely!!!

But an 8.45pm qual would suit you even better I presume Mike?!!

Not sure what my participation will be like next season but no matter what it will make no odds to me to see race times pushed back.
Can we maybe think about a slightly extended qualifying session too?
