I think that I would have to say that that was an eventful race.

To begin with I had made my usual last minute change to the Goodyear shod 914, having seen the times that Bonni was doing in practice.  I did manage a 16.4 somewhere along the way in qually or practice but in hindsight that was probably more down to gear ratio improvements rather than tyres.  I always felt happier with the Dunlops and seeing that Marco did the fastest race lap on them I should probably have stayed with them.  Another one to chalk up to experience.

Seeing Paduano sat in the pits and not setting a time in qually I put two and two together and assumed that this was an alias for Fulvio.  Wrong again!  He was off keeping the missus happy.  This meant that I was sat on the grid expecting the countdown to go all the way with one missing when suddenly we were off!  I just about managed to get it into gear but lost places to Tinman and Tudor off the line.

Then, not having been down the left hand side of the straight before, as Matt has said I tried to turn into the dummy first turn.  I just realised in time but apologies to Matt.

Over the first couple of laps I had Mark behind me and Tinman in front.  Then API appeared in front and Paulo was following.  All hectic stuff as the Goodyears slowly came up to temperature.

API made an error and dropped back a few places, which left me following Tinman again but at a respectful distance.  Paulo, on the other hand was getting closer.

We swapped Tudor for Tinman and I was gradually catching him.  This lasted until mid distance when I passed Tudor after he had a mishap.

Not too sure what happened then.  I know that API, Paulo, Tudor and myself were all approaching Stig to lap him.   I think that Paulo got past but the rest didn’t and somehow I passed API again.  But with the big silver bus in front of me and API nibbling bits off my rear bumper I was not at ease.  Stig pulled over at what I think was the second right after going over the bridge.  I turned inside and attempted to accelerate out of the corner fast enough to keep API behind and for some reason my right rear found all the grip in the world and threw me into the wall on the left.

I think I may have bent things a little because it didn’t feel so good in the last turn any more, one of the few corners that I was getting nearly right.

That let Tudor have another go at me.  The big silver bus was still there and I drove off into the sand at T1, allowing Tudor through.

On the penultimate lap I thought that Matt was catching me but it turned out to be Bonni, wanting to lap me.  I didn’t figure out who it was until we had crossed the line and I’m damn glad that I didn’t let him lap me or I wouldn’t have been able to take advantage of Tudor and Ian’s last lap problems.

Congratulations to Bonni, Ade and Geoffers and thanks to Legzy for a great season.

Also many thanks to the people that I diced with in this race.  Although I have not mastered the art of maintaining corner speed in these beasts they all managed not to hit me once.  Great driving.

Tough luck on Mike.  Hope you are able to sort it.

Nice pace from Bonni, Ade, Marco and Ian. Marco was really ripping it out there in race trim. I was on pace with him in practice when I ripped a 1:14.4 in race trim. I too would like to raise my cup and congratulate Geoffers for a 3rd place finish. Even though Ian fell out with motor problems, a big part of securing a top finishing place is positioning yourself to pick up the pieces with others fall.

I still haven't figured out my issue. TinMan was running the #59 Brumos Porsche (same I was using in practice). I tried joining with every car available during the quali session and still couldn't get in. I tried reinstalling the track. I tried ISDN, Cable, LAN bitrate settings. Nothing worked. I also confirmed each car loads on that track in an offline practise session. I'm stumped.

Congrats on a fine season Ian and the Kerb Crawlers.

Practice your pit stops boys. You're going to need them next season.

A very exciting race from the off as I managed to take advantage of Clive's hesitant start. I too was presuming the countdown would go all the way because of our spectator and realised just in time.

Spent the first part of the race keeping pace with Geoffers, but never really had an opportunity to attempt a pass. I was struggling to hold on and made a mistake as I came under pressure from Paulo and Clive. I'm glad Clive can remember such detail as all my attention was taken trying to keep the 914 on track. I do recall noticing Clive was a little slow into the first chicane and planning to make a move there. I managed to get past once but made a mess of my line and was repassed on the exit. Hope that wasn't too cheeky of me there buddy, but I thought it was worth a go Wink Both Paulo and API were also too good for me and I started making a few silly errors costing me places. Was a bit gutted to run out of fuel on the last lap though :'(

Congrats to Bonni, Ade and Geoffers for their podies and congrats to Ian and the Kerbies on the championships. Hard luck Mike for your troubles; very strange and unfortunate.

Thanks again to Legzy for all his time and help behind the scenes.

Bad race for me...
I had some good fights with Ian and Marco, but I've done so much mistakes to obtain a good result...
At the 22nd lap, I had a black screen before the chicane of the second intermediate, and I found myself blocked into the middle of the left corner, with no chances for Geoffers and an another driver (I don't remember who...) to avoid me... Sorry guys, it never happend to me... but there's always a first time Sad...
Two corners later, I decided to give up after another spin, and I hope I reached to push ESC in time... If I didn't I deeply apologize with the involved driver Sad

Grats to Bonni for the great race pace, and to the podium, especially to Ade in the L88!!! Nice stuff man!
Cu for the next one guys!

P.S. Forum name for [VDAO]Paduano is "Pepz"... sorry for my late answer!

Not a problem Tudor, I saw it coming.  And had a big grin on my face when you took to the grass.  Grin
API had been paying close attention there as well but he always decided to opt out.

I think that I lost a few pounds during that race.  There was never any let up!
