Moderator's Report

After a eventful race Hristo claimed his second win of the season. He was seriously challenged by Evil who took second with Göran claiming the final podium.

Server replay time: 0h01m11s

Tim and Pod was fighting for possition through T2 with Jethro following. When approching the hairpin (T3) Tim had the advantage and Pod, on the right side of the track, was going for a gap on the inside (left side).

Jethro is trying to follow Tim but Pod is still in front and there is no overlap so Pod has the right to take the line he wants. When Pod went for the linside line Jethro did not manage to slow down in time to avoid contact. Looking at the server replay it seemd only to be a warp contact but Pod`s car is effected and a rather severe pile up with many cars involved the result.

This being lap 1 one would expect a bit more caution. Jethro should not have been thinking of any overtake in this situation.

Just not familiar with the 66mod cars having not raced them for a coupla seasons , thought i'd like to give the lotus 33 a go , glad i did to  Smiley

Lovely car to drive , but it needs a "proper driver" to get the best , I was around 4 secs pl down on you H .

I tried the Lotus again today,  made some adjustments,  and knocked over a 1.5 sec off my race lap times , but the problem is keeping the pace up lap on lap so it doesnt pay me to set em up too fast (twitchy) I dont have the energy to drive alienesque set ups and I don't have the reactions of a seventeen yrs old anymore  Grin

maybe apply for a disabled sticker next time  Grin

1.5 seconds on 1m30 is 1:28.5, which is mid-pack Bernie. That's impressive stuff! Smiley

I should hope  Cheesy

I was actually meaning 1.5 secs closer to Hristo , or to put it another way ,  my average lap times with 'race fuel' on board , my best a stunning 29.14  Grin

I feel I can now run consistent laps in the low 1m 30's with much less effort required rather than having to fight the car all the time .

I dont do hotlapping , its probably why I'm the worlds worst qualifier  Roll Eyes

Perhaps one of my Lotus Climax setups might help you, I think they're fairly drivable and definitely quite fast, though in this race I went overboard by trying a 30/85/1 and it was extremely snappy on exits. With 45/85/1, 60/85/2 or 60/60/2 it's usually quite smooth though. I just wanted that extra bit of traction in fast corners, but it backfired in slower turns.

Anyway, if you want I can send over.

I often run 30/85/1's - oddly I have more troubles when I'm running 'safer' diff settings!  Undecided

Always like to try your set ups H even if I can't drive 'em I can use them as a 'base' for developing something I can use . so yes please  Smiley

I used 60/45/1 for the race which was nice for me to drive but lacked a bit more drive out of the corners . Ive been playing around with clutches , these cars seem to be a lot more tuneable than the 65 mod , more like the 67's

I also like to raise the ride height with race fuel on board.  I think this gives the suspension a bit more more complience , not always as fast but it helps me to be more consistant,  which is more important to me than having faster outright speed and a more 'unstable' drive .

As always your comments and constructive critisism is very welcome  Smiley

Depends on the car and track though.

Bernie, as far as 2 liter cars in 66 mod are concerned, I approach setting them up pretty much as 65 cars. In other words - as much oversteer as I feel comfortable with. They're stable enough and the engines are weak enough that it doesn't require as much throttle and brake control as 3 liters or 67 cars.

As for raising the ride height, sometimes it helps to do that just on the rear end to shift the weight to the front if you're lacking grip on turn-in or mid-corner. It may compromise high speed grip and corner exit though. There's not a general rule that I follow, just approach it track by track and car by car.

Zandvoort's consistency prize goes to King Hiro who scored 118.48 out of a possible perfect score of 135. Overall laptimes were not as consistent here as at other tracks which I suppose was down to traffic.

We've seen a good spread of chassis winning in Historics but as far as drivers go only 10 different drivers have won a race.

Out of the 43 Historic races so far the win tally looks like this (currently entered drivers in bold):
  1. Hristo Itchov - 15
  2. Lorenzo Galluzzi - 5
=3. Gerard Kayou - 4
=3. Ken Murray - 4
=3. Syd Drake - 4
=6. Dave Randall - 3
=6. Evil Clive - 3
=6. Tifosi312 - 3
=9. Fulvio Policardi - 1
=9. Kruger Enge - 1

Statmeister results for Zandvoort:
