In case you have been away from GTL, there have been GTL lobby problems. But.... it's all fixed now!

This is what you do to connect to the server:

1) Download & run this HOSTS HACK
2) Start GTL & select to the lobby
3) Register a new lobby account (I suggest the same name but with a blank email & password)
4) Log in with your new account & you should see a list of servers

euro

If this fix has not worked for you, then please check out this thread for more info/questions: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6869.msg119486#msg119486

But most importantly, do not suffer in silence (also, don't leave it till the Monday night Wink).

All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (65 laps = ~60mins)

Track: Norisring Download this
Cars allowed: BMW 320i Download this, BMW CSL, Ford Capri RS 3100, Ford Escort RS 2000, Porsche 911 RSR, Porsche 914-6. This race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0 and the Season 10 Skin Pack which will need to be installed prior to racing.

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: 2x
Fuel consumption: 2x

Server: UKGTL GGTC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

If you intend to race please download both skinpacks and install the BMW 320i even if you don't intend to drive it.

Is it me?  Roll Eyes Huh  Can't get rid of understeer on those two left handers the second in particular.  I've tried 320, Escort and 914-6 - the setup I've been using in Le Mans Series which gets around th hairpin and all those right angle right turns at Macau, either spins when I put power on or understeers on the over run.  It handles totally different to what I've been use to all these weeks on GTLDK - lift off over steer and tuck the front in under power.

Help!

It's in Online Folders in the Norisring file and it's named "goldtop BMW320". If you're struggling with turn in at those hairpins run a reasonably long 1st gear and drop down to it just as you hit the apex; should carry round nicely.

Thanks - I've obviously got the wrong IP (?) somewhere.  I changed it for GTLDK and found lots of setup I recognised from UKGTL so I think I setup the same for UKGTL so I could access these setups.

Would some kind soul help me to remember where to find that file and the correct IP for UKGTL?

goldtop I still have a problem.  My .plr shows Host IP Address="195.149.21.94" but I when I put that into my host file as detailed in the GTLDK ref: I just get a blank folder with nothing in it.

Don't think you should be touching your .plr file Bill, just your host file.
