Boooooooring.

Can this constant car changing be punished harder, some seem to change for every occasion. Penalty of 20% just isn't really doing anything.

Whole race was boring as hell, way too small grid and the Marcos is getting annoying with its horrible tyrephysics.

Not a single reply to the thread before the race, rather hints at a small field is likely Sad

Managed to do TT on the first straight in his asthmatic F430 & team mate API made a rare mistake later in the lap gifting me the GT2 lead. I kept it till I pitted at half distance & just managed to squeak back ahead of API as he exited the pits. Sadly I went off on the next lap & he was away. We both got past TT also, but I made another mistake when my car mysteriously spun itself like it hadn't before Angry

So having led for more then half the race, I feel a bit glum with 3rd...

But more importantly, concern over numbers lives on.

hello ruskus,

i did not have changed in GT1 the complete season, i only changed from aston to 575 because in R2P i did a race with 575 which end 1hour before this do start, so i had no motivation to make practise with other car, 575 i was used from race before, no different between 575 and aston is in performance, aston is little better in tyres and fuel as 575.
your marcos is dump car, much to fast in straights and much to slow in corners, so it never can be a realy good race between marcos and the other cars. i was hopeing to stay in front after 1st corner after start and the other interesting thing was if you change tyres in marcos, after i saw that you changed tyres and i stay in front after pitstop, it was realy a boring race.
perhaps you should change car, but then perhaps you will have boring race too, if you do win every race easy, dump situation this is.

Well that was fast but frustrating !

shocking low turnout again...12 cars  Sad its making it hard to commit to a 120min race when there are only a few other cars to race against. I just lost concentration so many times tonight as i mainly ran on an empty track.

Couldnt hook it up in qually and was a few cars down the order. Made some last minute changes to my race setup and car ran much better. Think i set fastest GT2 race lap? Smiley

Enjoyed chasing API and TT for a good half hour or so whilst Legzy steamed off into the distance. Ran wide a couple of times and kept losing 2-5 secs each time, then just as i did on thursdays race, had a big off on the final bloody lap before i pitted  Roll Eyes losing about 15 seconds to the guys ahead, not what i wanted as the stops were just starting.
Amazingly i had a good quick pitstop and despite my offs actually made up time on the guys ahead ! If i hadnt had that spin before my stop i would have maybe eeked in front of one or two.

But alas with 6mins remaining i got low fuel warning alert and could see i didnt have enough to get to the end of the race Huh I had to make a splash and dash for another 20L  Angry and dropped to the bottom of the small field of cars.

I dont remember seeing if they put fuel in my stop despite them supposed to be putting xxamount in. So either that happened or the race fuel burn is very wrong for this track.  Undecided

Dont know what the answer is to these low turnouts, but at this rate GT racing will no longer exist here  :'(
Maybe we need to reduce race lengths to an hour so that more can race? Could still keep a mandatory pitstop in it. Just cant see why so many have dropped out. Sad

Sad about low turnup. I can understand JR, 80 min by yourself seems a bit pointless. Sad
I count myself lucky on most accounts. Qualified 2nd in class with a lucky last lap. Legzy passed even before the first corner Roll Eyes with his mighty Panoz and was leading after API's mistake. Legzy's pace was too quick, couldn't stay with him. Then API started close with MJ close on his tail - must have been tense, you changed position twice, I think? Then API passed MJ and came close, overtook and I backswitched and passed him, then he did again. GT1s caught us then and it helped me to stay with him for a while, then he went away. After seeing I had no chance of beating API and Legzy on track I planned my pit-strategy to stay out as long as possible. Came into the pits on my last fumes, added 35 l of fuel and new tyres. Well, I planned to take softs, but was too eager to press Enter, so they put meds back. Bummer. Sad API passed, then Legzy passed and MJ was as close as 5 seconds. So my strat wasn't really that great. Cheesy Gap to Legzy was dwindling down but I couldn't pass without his mistake. Just before end he kindly made one Tongue , enabling me to take 2nd place. Might be a bit undeserved, but I'll take it. Wink
MJ had the fastest GT2 laptime, but the Legends-pitting-curse stroke yet again - too bad, buddy. Undecided Shame Purds didn't make it. And all others who didn't. Come on boys, this is still the best GT sim on the planet and I bet you didn't try all the cars. Hit with a wet fish

GT2 Championship is still close and I hope the remaining two tracks Imola and Portimao will enable F430 to be more competitive. Smiley

Grats to podys and finishers. Smiley

Fun race for me. Smiley

Gazza was very close behind for most of the race. nsfast was a little off pace and I did not have the regular tussle with him. :'(

The gap behind me to Gazza never got bigger than 4 seconds all the way until I pitted which was half way through the race. I managed to increase that gap to 14 seconds after Gazza had made his stop. Despite having to fill up to 100L, I had a really quick stop and did not change the front tyres.

I soon had a big moment and almost totalled the car into a wall. I was very lucky to get away with it and stay in front of Gazza. The gap was now back to 4 seconds.

Gazza started to reduce the gap toward the end of the race and looked like he may be able to make a move. However, in the last few laps he had to back off due to his engine health being a bit on the Jenson Button side.

I ended up with a undeserved 2nd. Smiley

Well done podiums. Berger and Ruskus where always at least 1 second faster than me on every lap. Well done for getting in the 58s Berger.

I've been up North competing in the Corporate Games for the last few days...no chance of making this.

Saying that, there's  not so many people in GTR2 now...think everyone's waiting for the next big thing to jump into.

Yep i agree. I think a lot of people are taking a break and waiting for Rfactor2 or GTR3 to rejuvinate their sim racing passion  Undecided

With everything getting towards arcade racing I'm a bit sceptic of WHEN is it gonna come. A real new sim, that is. Hats down to iR driving model but I'm waiting for something else. Undecided

Agreed. "Vanilla" GTR2 no longer gets me excited and the apathy towards it here hasn't helped. However, rather than the next big thing , some good mods/a good mod (same quality as PnG) would reignite my interest and perhaps a few others? I' d give it a go anyways Smiley

In the mean time, I'm gonna get some value outta iR. Notice that I've managed three whole races in 2010  :'(

i agree TT, nothing that great on the horizon, all arcadey race sims lately  Sad

As much as i try, IR still leaves me cold, really doesnt float my boat as its just so lacking in character, not sure why, but probably the singular car choices, none of which i find that exciting. Ginsters you turn coat, you said the same !

I really hope we keep the GT racing going, i'd be lost without my weekly fix and the racing is still as action packed as ever when other cars nearby on track. We need to advertise on No-grip etc and bring some new mods that have been tested on pilsbierbude...maybe some of the guys here who use it could recommend some? I would also sadly shorten the races to make them more intense for the racing action.

Looks like people are looking for new things and variety, which currently is given only by rF (or iR if you like to get ripped off).

Mods like NAGT will be liked here I guess, but it's more difficult than GTR2.

Indeed, but the the GTR races here leave me cold and at least the iR races are full :'( New things and variety in GTR is possible? I hope so.
