... past experience proves to me that 60 minutes works best to balance pit strategy (do I take tires or not?). Compared to previous seasons, only an additional 12 minutes for quali is the added commitment.

Agreed.

Shame that the grid was so small. Sad

Sorry I didn't make it  Sad. I was late joining (about 8.20) only to discover I had the wrong version of the track! Then my download speed was running at snail pace & I couldn't get the correct version downloaded in time for the start  Roll Eyes.

Will be there next week.

I was "spread out" because I kept falling off  :'( My pace was close to the leaders, except Ade who was
on a roll. I fell off then followed a group, they fell off, I passed and immediately fell off at the next corner...

Like the 60mins, don't like 20 min sprint races, there is no recovery time for mortals like me to get back into
the fray If I make a mistake.

What a race...

Unbelievable pole position for me at the last useful lap, due to some great setup modifes of the last second, thanks to Lentolo that is surely a better "engineer" than me!
On wednesday we had a lot of practice with Bonni & ade, and I was pretty sure that the car balancing could have work so fine! I made even a pit stop try, to see how much time you save whitout tyre changings... Perspective was of a really interesting race!
A great start let me stay in front at the first corner, and from here it's started a great war of nerves agains ade, that was always half a second behind me aver all the first 18th lap... in which I've done my first little mistake letting ade pass 2 laps before his pit stop.
The big size of L76 tank, let me stay on track other 3-4 laps after ade's pit, just in time to realize his pit crew has done a great work, and the only way to pass him was without changing my tyres, even if my xd motec in that moment suggested me otherwisely...
Luckily I managed a good pit stop, that in only 37 seconds refilled me of 90 litres, because In some mine strange calculations we should have done 36 laps, and before pitting I decided to save other 2 seconds changing my refueling by the xd motec, filling 90 litres instead of 95... so wrong move........
After my pit I saw unexpectedly that Goldtop was the leader, and stupidly I decided to push even with my worned tyres, instead of waiting his pit and keep a decent pace, to lose 1-1.5 second per lap against ade, that was 18 second back after my pit, but with new tyres and a devil inside devil devil devil
After Goldtop pit I was a little more quite, and I kept my pace on a high 37, but ade was coming back as a fury, and I knew that we would have to fight at least for a lap or 2, as it happened... After 2 laps of strong defence ade tried to attack me outside at the last sequence of 3 corners, I asked to my tyres the last effort, but my engine started to sob, and at the last corner I was out of fuel, reaching the finish line only downshifting to neutral meanwhile I noticed ade's evil grin looking to his face trough the window  Grin Grin Grin
Thank you for this race ade,  is always a pleasure fight with you, and I hope in a return match soon (possibly with a different final Wink)
Hope to see more people for the next one, I missed so much the comparison with some of you fast guys, it would be a cracking race with 3-4 people fighting for the lead in the last laps!
However seems this format has produced a close race, and it works pretty fine till now... let's see for the next, even if the next thursday VDA gents will probably have to jump the test, cause of our last champ race Sad

Cu soon guys Smiley

sorry Mike, saw your post about the sprints later. I thought your plan was to run a 1hr race every week, hence me saying it would be hard to attend all the time. But if its broken up with some sprint rounds then great  Smiley
