All members welcome

Practice 1: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qual 2: 20:20 (12 mins)
Race: 20:32 (60 Minutes) - note: no warmup!

Cars allowed: Refer to this spreadsheet. Your car choice is limited to your average finish position (trimean).

Drivers with an average finish of 1 - 5.99 are restricted to cars in the Yellow group.
Drivers with an average finish of 6 - 14.99 are restricted to cars in the Yellow and Orange groups.
Drivers with an average finish of 15+ may drive a car from any group.
First time drivers are restricted to cars in the Yellow group.

Yellow (average finish 1+)
  • Porsche 914
  • Daytona Coupe
  • Corvette L88 Roadster

Orange (average finish 6+)
  • Porsche 911 IROC
  • Ferrari 275 Speciale
  • Shelby 427 Cobra Roadster
  • Corvette L88 Coupe
  • Ford GT40 Mk I (non-Gulf)

Green (average finish 15+)
  • Ford GT40 Mk II
  • Porsche 906 (all)
  • Porsche 911 RSR

Note: For the pre-season testing only, I've made some adjustements to a handful of drivers (moving them up) in order to get the largest sample size possible in each group during the off-season testing. We will all start in the Yellow Group the 1st event of the championship season and then your average finish will determine your group going forward. Use the spreadsheet for this pre-season test event.

Track: Daytona Road Course (download from HERE)
Time of Day Setting: 13:00
Weather: Dry
Start: Standing

Tyre wear: 1X
Fuel consumption: 2X
Pit-stops: At least 1 stop is required taking on at least 1 Liter of fuel and/or changing 2 tires. You cannot take a mandatory stop at the end of the pace lap, or with less than 1 lap to go.

Server: UKPnG2.1 S2 Classic
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v2 from here, 2.1 patch from here and enable terrain patch.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(5) Drivers are reminded that they must select ISDN as their bandwidth, otherwise the stability of every-one's connection will be reduced.
(6) P&G has no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function. You may go as fast as you like in the pits, but please exercise caution. Penalties will be handed out for causing contact in the pit lane. Use your best judgement when making your pitstop during the race.

Season 3 announcement

Guys

I'm planning to change things up a bit for the 3rd season of P&G. Season 3 will be a handicap series where your average finish position determines the vehicles available to you each round. There will be a total of 11 events consisting of 13 championship points paying rounds. The series will be broken up into 3 segments (big speed, GT and ankle biters) with 3 rounds in each segment totalling 9 handicapped events. Between each segment will be a spec 20 minute sprint double header. Pit stops and strategy are a key part of the handicap series so the races will be extended 60 min races. I understand people have busy schedules so I will limit the quali session to just 12 minutes. That should be plenty of time to get a clear lap. Please have respect for other drivers who are on a hot lap by allowing easy passage if you are not on a hot lap. We'll have 3 pre-season races testing each carset and 1 double header test. The full schedule, track locations and carset details will be announced early next week.

Please read the entire race announcement carefully.
Note the quali and race time changes.
Note the car selection procedure. Please ask questions if you are unsure which car to use. We will all start in the Yellow Group the 1st event of the championship season and then your average finish will determine your group going forward.
Note the fuel usage and pit stop changes.
Note the pit lane speed changes.

Enjoy the season!

I can't go wrong with you MJ. There is a Porsche in every group in the big speed class of cars! I know I can't make everyone happy all the time, but at least this is a good start. You may be less happy with the ankle biters class of cars as there are no Porsches in the slower cars within P&G. With any luck, P&G 3 will release soon bringing 911's to the GT car classification section. The IROC and 914 may carry over there, but I'm not finished with testing yet on that car grouping.

Looks good Mike, but I'm confused with the above. So how many races are there? 11?

I'm planning 11 weeks with 13 points paying races. Weeks 4 and 8 will be double headers (two 20 minute sprint races) if the test race works out ok.

I updated the spreadsheet with the results from Keimola. The only significant change was API moving to the Orange group. Remember, any driver is permitted to drive any car from the Yellow group. Those in Yellow must drive a car in the yellow group. Those in Orange can drive any car from the Yellow or Orange group, and those in Green can drive any car from any group.

So which is the Daytona Road Course?

I've followed the link but having installed the track I seem to have the options of 24Hr or Short.

Hmmm...

Cars that I thought were quite nice at Nurb the other week turn out to be 'orible beasts on this track. Sad

My frame rate goes for a tatas at the hairpin before you get onto the banking too.
