The Lola isn't the only car with the modern compound choice but I do take your point that we should restrict it's use. I don't think we can actually tell if anyone uses them so it will be a Gentlemans agreement. I'll change the announcement to suit. Thanks for the research GT, I'd missed that totally.
Of the three cars in the S5.0 group, I've yet to manage a lap in the 917k. I'ts a beast that goes like a crab whenever I try to put down some power. I like both the Lola and the Ferrari and can manage equal times in both. I havent tried the other cars yet.
Has anyone else experienced the setup swopping that Matt mentioned in his thread?

I haven't really found my setups interchangeable, but that might be me. The default settings certainly need changing though as these are waaaaaaay off. Might be an idea to load up some of our setups in the Earlybrands online folder so that others can try them otherwise I think these cars will be frustrating to drive and could put many drivers off. I've been testing mine with about 30 mins fuel and softs just to get a quick feel for them. I'll put up my Lola and 512 setups.

Big thanks to Goldtop for the online setups. Made all the difference IMO. The Lola felt very good and after a load of laps managed times around 1:39's. The 512S setup is also very good but I adjusted the final gear up one click and reduced the individual cogs down by one or two clicks as with GT's setup I was on the 5th gear limiter before I got to Hawthorn bend. Best times in the 512S were 1:38's. The Alfa for me feels good without any setup tweaks and is possibly the easiest car to drive and I was soon doing 1:39's no probs. The Matra is a strange ol beasty tho. Once you get used to it wanting to rev up to 10,000rpm it is quite good to drive but I found it the slowest at 1:41's If more setups can be provided in the online folders it would be much appreciated

I think that the Alfa is the star car in the lower group, then the Porsche 908-02 followed by the noisy Matra
BTW I have put my numpty setup for the Porsche 917k online.

Had a go in a couple of cars, the Matra & the 917. 1.39.0 in the Matra & 1.37.5 in the 917 although neither were particularly good laps & with more setup work should be able to go quite a bit quicker.
The Matra drives nicely but is quite easy to lose with a bit too much throttle & is a bit twitchy on the brakes.
The 917 seemed to put the power down better but is awful on the brakes, just does not want to turn & stop at the same time. At Paddock Hill it just wants go straight on unless you brake extremely early. Lowered the brake pressure to 75% & still it won't turn with the brakes on.

Gents, I was wondering if there´s going to be an"entries" list. I am thinking of joining the fun with a team of two sharing one car ( probably the Matra)but as my co driver has to do an hour´s drive to my place it´s important for us to know if there will be enough free slots left.
Regards, Seniordan

No entries list but I would expect there will be plenty of grid slots free BTW I love the idea of sharing the ride.

Me too, don't think GTL or GTR do it? Did do a series elsewhere where we fudged it by adding the times together for a Lemans race and it worked ok. Make it work somehow and it could be a winner, for me anyways Was gonna get in some pracci tonight, is GTL lobby/server working now?

Lobby is up and running ok now. I think Seniordan means that his co-driver will be present and will actually swap seats with him at the pitstops to share the driving. Sounds like a great night in to me, followed no doubt by plenty of beer

Umm, The setups are not shareable. If I drive one car and make a setup, and set it as default, if I then rejoin with a different car , the default for the previous car will be loaded as fave for this one as well. I used the Matra at Imola, and liked it, not had much time round here, but I will probably be using it again here. I reckon at least 2 secs and more between the classes round this track, 5 secs or more at faster tracks. BTW, what happened to the Aintree mini race? I'm away so coudn't go, but ti seems to be missing from the list....

Lobby went down early evening and didn't return in time for quali/race, so it has been rescheduled to be the last event in the RD series.

I haven't practiced a single bit yet and i'm away the remainder of the week. I'll try to download everything and sneak in a bit of practice Mon morning. Hopefully the boss will leave me be and let me race.

Well worth the effort I think Mike Enjoyed getting back into these monsters for some pracci but disappointed that the 512 felt awful on the Vintage tyres and I won't be using that. The Alfa was a different story, great fun. That said, think I might use something from the lower group. Be sure to be in a race the whole time that way, which should be nice
