Definately be back for this one, always like this track and surprised we actually havent run it much in GTR2 land despite people moaning we run it too much! Last time we did it in GTC was way back when.

Best so far is a mid 35 but cars still a bit waywood, keep loosing the rear through the twisties coming off the throttle.

GUTTED. Angry

Game crashed 4/5 times on me in the hour before the race with the final one blue screening me. Managed to get in 5 mins into qually & did some laps on full fuel Roll Eyes

With 4 mins to go I exited the pit with correct qually setup & with my one timed lap I was straight in the 34's & about a 10th of my usual rival Spanner... reckoned I might have time to squeeze in a 2nd flyer so carried on round the track. Got half way round the lap & my game hung again. Exited but couldn't get back in before it flipped over to race session.

So gutted, I think that's a lovely track for modern GT cars. :'(

Good to see a couple more faces on the grid that I almost lined up against

Was at a loose end this evening, so thought I'd give GTR 2 a go again. After getting over the initial wierd feeling of the cars, since not playing GTR2 for ages, all seemed to come back to me in not too much time.

Managed to grab pole position in GT3 and led till the pit stops with API in very close attendance the whole time. I had a great fast entry into the pit lane, but when I stopped with my engine off my pit crew wouldn't service me for a good 3 or 4 seconds. Bizarre. Anyway, having seen how the fuel had gone in the first half and how the tyres had gone off I stopped a bit after half way and reduced the amount of fuel going in by a whole 7 litres. API still somehow jumped me in the pits and I had to drive at qualifying pace to catch him. This had the unfortunate side effect of shredding my tyres and using a lot of fuel. Managed to get by up the hill as he went wide, but then just couldn't pull away. Tyres were gone and the speed I had catching him wasn't there anymore. Realised with a few laps to go that I was really tight on fuel and was hoping that the leader would cross the line one lap earlier. No good for me he didn't and despite a bit of short shifting for the previous two laps (which was ruddy hard with API right behind me) on the last lap I really had to try and even make it. Thought I might, but with a couple of corners to go the engine started chugging and I knew I was done for. Hugged the inside down the pit straight but with my engine shutting down with a hundred yards to go I was powerless (literally) to stop API cruising by and winning the race. Lucky for me I had enough momentum to easily cross the line, so could have been much worse.

Good job API, had really good fun racing you and well done on the win.

Off to re-read the Team Shark handbook on playing chicken with the fuel load.

What's more frustrating: car bypassing you on every straight or car catching you after every straight? Grin That was H@l and me in the whole 2nd half of the race. On and on with an occasional GT3 throwed in to make it more spicy. scared I apologize to Pete and API and Simon and all other GT3s that I so clumsily overtook. Undecided Was worried about that tiny white car the whole time. Roll Eyes TVR seems quick on a straight and a bit clumsy through the corners. Interesting. Smiley

Nice to see some old faces come back. Tough luck, Legzy. Sad
Grats podys. Hope JB comes back, so you can have someone to play with, Berger. Wink  2nd feels like a win. Cool

My return to GTR2 and a return to my usual form  Roll Eyes

Had a nice little tussle with Prof Spanner and MJ in the opening laps and mostly managed to hold it together until the pitstops. Was pleased to make up time behind Prof in the pits as I'm usually a bit slow and emerged about 4 secs behind. The following lap though Simon came out from his pitstop just in front of me in the Z3 and I just couldn't get past him. We caught API and I had a front row seat for their battle which went on for lap after lap.

I could see that MJ was probably going to catch me if I didn't get past, so I started pushing harder with the inevitable result. I caught a kerb and skewed onto the grass at the bottom of the hill and skidded back onto the track right in front of (I think) Matt Embarrassed  All went a bit to pot after that and when I made the same mistake a couple of laps later I decided to torch the Z4 in my frustration Angry

Congrats to podies Smiley

Ha, that was fun, talk about making it hard work for myself to get a top 6 finish  Roll Eyes

A night of technical difficulties caused me all sorts of lost time.

Had two early spins under braking which caught me out, but i quickly realised the rears were snatching and so shifted the balance forward a few notches and all was fine. Shame, as had been enjoying a cracking battle with Goldtop and then Spanner shaping up too in the first 5-10mins.
Had to play catch up from the bottom of the field after that and drove like a loon to catch and pass all the GT3 guys who seemed to have way too much power compared to the GTC porker !

Decided to run long as my meds were holding out well and found myself in 2nd for a long spell after others had pitted. Opted to change my strategy to gain some places but in doing so i inadvertently turned off my bloody engine whilst flat out on the s/f straight Roll Eyes had to watch with baited breath as TT and H@L came steaming up behind me either side !!  Shocked thankfully they got by okay and the engine re-fired at t1...phew. Cost me 6+ secs though  Sad
Made my stop but another 'technical difficulty' meant i got new rears and kept on old fronts laugh which meant i came out just behind the 6th-8th pack instead of just in front of them. Chased them hard for last 20minutes, and caught the train but Goldtop fell off which helped ! and then caught API and Simon on the very last lap on the final straight !...this time Porsche power and a good exit out the final corner blasted me down the middle of the pair of them to finish a satisfying 6th after all that hard work !  Smiley
A decent nights work for the legends with TT finishing 2nd? Cool

Great track to race on this and looks great.

Was the best GTR2 race I've had for ages.
Tried the vertigo, but 40 was best time, didn;t have time to mess with setups so used the trusty Viper as it was
still lurking  in the garage. Imediately went with a 38 in qual, while I was tweaking the setup with full fuel
Had some good tussles with several people - mostly Picnic and Jose.
Some guy in a GTC beetle kept falling off and getting in our way, but we avoided him mostly  whistling

I wasn't sure where the pit limit started so went in slow wasting time, then the 55 sec stop while I changed tyres
opting to go for hard fronts rather than the melted meds I started with. came out on Jose's tail a lap down
and then tried to fend off PIcnic but had some trouble letting GTCs through and he got past, probably would have
anyway, but it was a shame I had to slow for another spinning GTC roadblock who I could not avoid.
No matter, was a good race. Sorry for being a poor lapper Berger, you were invisible, i got sound but no sight
Checked my replay and you are visible in that so don't understand.

What's more frustrating: car bypassing you on every straight or car catching you after every straight?

Same problem with my Z4. A kind GT3 runner lets me through on the twisty bit and then has to hold back from overtaking me up the long hill.  Cheesy

Sorry about the confusion in the first part of the race Spanner. After you and Manteos took to the grass my computer had decided you were coming back to lap me and not for position. The blue flag sound clip got so annoying that I flashed you through just to shut it up.

Quiet sort of race with no one to race for much of it.

Fun race. Smiley

Good fight with TT in the second half.

What's more frustrating: car bypassing you on every straight or car catching you after every straight? Grin

LOL, that was classic. The best bit in the race was when you got passed on the last corner before the hill and I just knew that I would get back past.  Grin

TVR seems quick on a straight and a bit clumsy through the corners. Interesting. Smiley

Indeed. It felt better on that track than most and I was very surprised to be nearer the front of the grid for a change. I was able to be more smooth with my driving at Interlagos rather than just pushing hard all the time. Smiley

had to watch with baited breath as TT and H@L came steaming up behind me either side !!  Shocked

That was a memorable moment. Grin I did not know TT had gone to the other side. I could see that there was allot more room on the left but, it seemed a bit too far off line to me so I decided to stick to the line and take the much smaller space on the right. I dont think that it affected are fight at all. I was worried about some sort of Legends team play for a second there. Smiley

Well done podiums. See you all next race. Smiley

I changed tyres opting to go for hard fronts rather than the melted meds I started with.

A-ha, that'll explain why I seemed to have got quicker than you in the 2nd half of the race.

It was hard work last night with all that Brazilian heat Wink But was quite a frustrating race for me. I couldn't get close to the times I did here last season but my problem with the people I was battling was apex speeds. I was forever taking avoiding action in the middle of corners to avoid a 'parked' car in front. But on the straights I couldn't keep up. I didn't expect to with Matt's American muscle but I couldn't with Jose's Z3 either.

At last season's event I had a freeze that lasted for a whole lap, it cost me the championship, and last night I had a freeze again but this time only a few seconds but it was enough to spoil JPV's race a bit I suspect. When I re-appeared we were both on the grass with him an inch from my front bumper but me going a lot faster. Sorry for that. What with all the other crashes etc people have with this track I do wonder whether it's really stable enough for league races.

After that freeze and crash I almost called it a day, I dawdled back to the pits but decided that as I was dead last I'd but some softs on to replace the meds, wear was around 10 I think. Bit early for a stop, 44 mins to go or so, so I was pleased I remembered the Team Shark handbook on playing chicken with the fuel load and put some extra juice in the tank, even then I only had 1.something left in the tank at the end!

To my surprise I was catching Matt/JPV so I stuck with it and enjoyed the second half of the race much more. Good battling chaps. My softs didn't seem to loose too much grip as they wore but my front right was up over 28 at the flag.

Well done to all. See you at Doni.
