Don't forget the fuel strategy component of the Elite. It sips fuel compared to the TR4. It is also very kind to it's ultra hard tires.
Maybe, but i want to race cars on the track not through fuel economy. No fun having 15 TR4s leaving you for dead whilst you chug around hoping to pass them in the pit later. Not tried the Minis or abarths so hope others can compete in them with the TR4, but not a fan of fwd or fridges on wheels so prob wont be driving them myself Not sure if i missed an info post, but i thought the quickest drivers wouldnt be able to take the fastest cars in the new handicap series ?

I guess there will often be a particular car in a fixed set that will be a winner at some places I happen to like TR4s so I don't mind if it becomes a Triumph spec race. I also would not mind if MIke gets "Legzy last minute wobbles" and chucks the TR4 out for this event I am sort of with MJ about the Elite, I can't usually stand the thing, but here it is really great fun And. I need someone of exceptional talent to use the mini and beat Manteos as he claims he has "never seen a competitive mini" This sort of talk is like gauntlets being cast down! For me the washing machine is 2nd fastest, but I am 2 -3 secs slower than i am in the TR4 so not a serious option. Oh and the post is that we all take yellow cars for the 1st event, and handicapping starts at some point after based on who wins. So, you take the Elite MJ and I'l take the washing machine and we will have some fun, and then get good cars in the next round

LOL
Well I'm a second quicker in the washing machine. I wish I wasn't but there you go!
Still making progress with the Elite. Only just noticed that some are older than others.

Well I'm going to be driving the Mini, highly doubt I'll beat Manteos but it's easily my favourite out of those cars. I like the Elite and the Abarth round here, but the Mini is a couple of secs quicker for me. Can't get on with the TR4 at all.

Ok, Now I am within a second of my best TR4 time in the Bendix. 26.2 tonight, with I thought full fuel, but you don't get many laps for a packet of Persil with this 2x fuel thing, so may have been only half a dispenser full May still take the TR4, I have driven it pretty well whenever it has been available even when it was the least competitive, so to not drive my fave car when it is, is something a crazy person would do.. but then... muahahahaha Some Italian s on last night, doing low 24's or even 23's in the TR4, I may follow them round and see if they fall off, or try to keep up with the smaller cars, I think it will be a double race, but who knows, hot lapping pace does not always result in a win

Maybe, but i want to race cars on the track not through fuel economy. .. or through what tyres you pick, or through how hard you run the engine, or through how much you damage the suspension, or how well you handle a pitstop, or through what car you pick. Why don't we cut out all these annoying and distracting features, that have no reference to real racing Stig / Hotkeys

Maybe, but i want to race cars on the track not through fuel economy That is actually a big problem in races with pit stops. It's entirely possible to have close battles with other drivers from start to finish in races that don't include pitstops, but if you have to stop to take on fuel and/or change tyres (particularly if there are different car types), the result can often be a lonely second half of the race.

It's 2 days I don't read this topic, and my sentence about Mini's has provoked the British anger... LOL! It's obvious that I was referring only to the yellow group, when I said that Mini is not competitive. I think that in the right hands, and not vs the TR4 especially in a track like Snetterton, it could have some chances... If I convince my VDA mates to take the abarth this race could be a bit more interesting i guess... What do you think about introducing a rule that force you to take all the cars of a group? The idea is that if this time I take the TR4, I'm not allowed to take it next time, and I'll have to choose between Abarth - Elite - Mini. In this way every driver is forced to choose a different car in every race, and there's a good reshuffling of cars on the grid every times. Obviously that should be valid even for the drivers of green and orange group for the next races. I wait for some feedback. I apologize to those who feel offended by my sentence on Mini. It's definitely a glorious car
