I just stumbled out of bed after a good nights sleep. It's been a whole year since I did a track day so my body isn't used to it. Great to hear so many had great battles on track. I really wish I could have made the race.

Regarding the early ending... I only recently learned of the lap count calculation may end timed races prematurely. I failed to check this event and the others for that matter. I will be sure to do so for the remaining events on the schedule. Those that may appear to end early may be converted to fixed laps. As for this event, I want to review the results and see if anyone did not make a stop. For those who did not stop, I may add a time penalty equal to the amount of time an average stop for that car typically would take if the results system allows for it. I'll review and test tonight.

Anyone else think a nice little rain shower at some point would have really spiced up that race ?
Count me in Grin

Yep, together with some Bavaria Babes in the Pits.

Concerning the race... welll.. I went for Spyker's strategy at Le Mans and finished... last.
The positive thing is that I'm now firmly rooted in Group Green.

I've come to the opinion that virtual rain is just another way of messing up a perfectly good race.

And why do we have to run the damn things when the sun is so low in the sky that at least two corners are almost invisible?  Just favouritism for people with expensive graphics cards I expect.

Didn't you have your sunglasses handy Clive? I think Mike should put something in the race posting about shades being required.  Grin

The other thing about the race ending early, people who didn't change Tyres would have started going backwards in relation to people who spent longer in the pits to do their Tyres.

Tough one to call because I can see the point about races ending early in the real world Undecided

I wonder if they have put a rule in the book to cover a GP ending before everyone had used both tyre compounds.  Grin

I can see the lawyers making a packet if they haven't.  Grin

Judging by where my replay ended up, we were not using the UKGTR version of the track this time either.

odd what you guys are saying about fuel. I definitely had the full amount allowed in the garage menu and re-filled to the brim at my stop. So must have been something buggy perhaps? My low fuel light came on for last two laps of the race and i was sweating it would make it. I was surprised when some said the race had finished early as it finished exactly on the right lap number that Xpd was telling me the race would finish.

Those saying rain would spoil the race obviously havent tried it with a proper weather generator where you get a realistic shower, drying of track etc. Its brilliant, especially in these clubmen racing cars and tracks. Had some cracking races with varying weather in the MARA league as it felt more realistic.

Just to confirm it finished early MJ, on the results sheet at the top, look in the column that shows the gap between drivers... if you look in Ayrton's row (because he won it) & you'll see how long the race lasted (49mins 54 secs in case you can't find it Wink).

This happens when the .gdb track file is "wrong". If you watch at the XD Motec, it will show you exactly the number of race laps, when the .gdb file is wrong. If the .gdb file is "correct", the race will finish after 1 hour, and even the xd motec, will show you the remaining time to finish, and not the number of race laps. However even me & the other VDA mates, didn't noticed this fact during the race, so we refilled our tank of about 65 litres to see the checkerd flag after an hour... but it was an early finish as Legzy said.

About your trouble with fuel, I don't know what to think... you refilled your car til 72 litres of fuel? 67 litres were enough to finish the race doing the pit at lap 22 as you did. 72 Litres is the fuel tank, divided for 22 laps, it means, 3.25 litres for lap circa . To make 22 laps with full tank, with an average time of 1.24.5, it means you stayed on track for at least 31 minutes, and adding the pit time, surely more than 32 mins. So, you would have to turn other 21 laps in the worst hypothesis, that is less than the first half of the race... so if maths is not an opinion (it's an Italian proverb lol), you should have finish the race... I hope to be clear in my explanations Smiley
You use to do endurance and pit stop, than you shouldn't have truble with pit Mark, but probably you had a wrong number of litres setted on your pit strategy, I can't imagine any other cause, because the mechanics don't let you go til they put all the litres of fuel you setted in your pit strategy, and if you restart your engine before they finish to refuel, you can't leave the pit until you turn off your engine again, and they will finish to refill all the litres you setted in your pit strategy.
The other cause could be that of an Italian mechanic that made a hole to your tank during the pit stop I guess  Tongue Tongue Tongue Another Spy Story?!?!?  Grin Grin Grin
Gn guys!

After reviewing the results and watching key parts of the replay, the results stand as is. Goldtop took his stop on the last lap surrendering a position to API in the process. He was also the last car on the lead lap so there wasn't an opportunity for others to pass while in the pits.

I will be sure to test the race ending early scenario going forward.
