Continuing my downward decline, I soon over achieved myself by being last after the opening laps in one of the fastest cars.  Roll Eyes

Only the misshaps of others camoflaged my miserable performance.

The absolute highlight of the whole sorry affair was a lovely fair scrap with Tim which lasted for quite a few laps. I did pass him once at T1 but gave the place back as I felt I had performed a block on him and he's such a nice chap I simply couldn't go on thinking I'd mugged him of a place. Did eventually get to pass him again after some confusion with lepers lappers. Tried to catch Alex and got within seconds of him before the race ended.

Yeah I did enjoy our scrap Tony, I've not had so much fun in coming last for ages  thumbup2

I had a storming start, blasted past about 6-7 cars into turn 1... rather than let everyone else go first I decided to just go for it  Shocked

The pit stop was a disaster, I requested a stop but the blue light never came on and went into the pits but my pit crew were in the pub, tried again the next lap and they were frantically running along pit lane with tyres, and in the confusion I forgot to cut the engine....  :'(

Not surprisingly I was last, but Tony wasn't far ahead so had a fun ding dong battle with him, although with lapping cars made it tricky, just wish some lappers would show a bit more patience, don't expect me to jump off the racing line just to let you pass, or nudging me in the middle of a turn will make me move over  Angry *rant over*

Pity we didn't get more variety, the muscle cars are just not competitive here  Sad

I read your posts, and I agree with you that it's totally wrong to press a driver that is being lapped with the headlights, because it's very annoying, and I use my headlights only to thank a lapped driver that let me pass fairly. So I can imagine, that you was referring to some other teammates, and even if I didn't check the replay yet, I'll surely report this fact again to the VDA guys.

At the opposite, I've to say that even if I wasn't lighting someone, overtaking a lapped driver has been a really hard and dangerous stuff... I had no troubles with Tim Robey and Alex_vv, that were really fair in their lapping procedures, but I saw something really wrong by another driver, and I don't understand yet why he was fighting with me to defend his position even if he was under lapping by me... 3 laps to lap someone are so much guys, and at the same time you risk to compromize both driver's race, to defend a position that you shouldn't defend. Nobody is saying that you have to throw yourselves out of track, but if the driver that is lapping is side by side with you, I expect that you will NOT pull the brake. You will lose only 2-3 tenth of second if you lift up slightly your gas before the brake, and both the drivers risk so much less, if you let to pass a driver that is 2-2.5 seconds faster than you every lap. I had to avoid an accident 4-5 times, only because a lapped driver didn't want to lift up a bit his throttle, and instead of gaining something by our duel, he even lost pretious seconds and his position (in advantage of Legzy  Wink). Evenmore in that duel I broken my suspention because, to avoid his Alfa dancing on the borders, I stroke him on the rear bump, going on the grass and wasting other 3 seconds.
In my opinion that's not the right way to be lapped fairly...

I always give respect to other drivers when I'm racing, and I had no troubles to wait Ade, after a questionable overtake that I judged not so fair by myself and to have a clear conscience, I tried to pass him again fairly before the end of the race (that ended 2 laps before than it should  :'( :'(). So even if he passed in front of me for .033 seconds on the checkered flag, at least I have the certainty to have done the right choice Smiley.

If you prefere, we can discuss better in TS about that things, because I think that writing on the forum, is not ever the best solution, and I don't want to create any misunderstanding. You know that I always say what I think, so I excuse again for the "flashing" VDA mates, but I would like to speak with you to understand which is the moment in that you think it's safer to let the overtake of a lapper. Evenmore, you would have no response by the VDA guys, cause I can't let him to explain something with the king of misunderstanding... Mr. Google Translator Huh Huh

P.S. I have to thank you so much If I learned something about gentleman's racing, but all my VDA mates are gentlemans too, and there are probably some things to improve yet, but they're on the right road Wink. If they were flashing you, it was without the intention of not being respectful of you, but only because they were playng so close for the 1st place... It's in the human nature to try to save some tenths during a lap manouvre, but at the same time I agree with you that flashing so much it's too annoying, and I would like they won't have the same behaviour for the next time Wink.

Had a good 15 laps battling with Clive & Ade not too far behind, then lost control braking for T1. I must have found a hole in the barriers, because rather than glance off them, I went straight through into the void, race over  :'(

Congrats to the podium, awesome pace from Ayrton & Lele in the washine machines  Shocked & great pace from Legzy in the Elite.

At least I am good at something  Grin

Personally I use the pit board to gauge which car I have a battle with. Leader running with lights on is also a big help.
Blue flags don't work most of the times and don't have the time to use XD due to limited information processing capacity in the brain  Huh

Had a nice scrap with Sandor early on. Then  I was desperately trying to keep W. Tony behind me and was saved by the bell  Cool
Would not have lasted another lap..

It was funny that, the only car I was comfortable in was the Elite here & I just kept getting faster Shocked Grin

Had some close (too close sometimes) racing all through.

With regards the flashing while lapping:
I finished 4th & unbelievably I was getting flashed by a few drivers from the moment they got within about 1sec behind. Finishing 4th, it's not like I was hanging about Huh
The flip side of that is that some drivers (certainly not all) made it stupidly hard to lap them Roll Eyes but still I only ever flashed a 'thanks' or a 'sorry' once I was past.
Lapping drivers, please stop this insane automatic flashing. It's nothing but rude.  Angry
While the person being lapped has every right to stick like glue to the racing line, if you then start blocking then expect to be flashed I'd say Undecided

Anyway, see you all in two races time. Smiley

Sorry for the delay of my answer, but I went 3 days at the seaside... Now my vacations are definitely over... However the forum name for VDA Giuseppe Baldoni is "Argo".
