Moderator's Report

Nick Philips is a full time Division 2 driver and was not entitled to take an NGT car.

Server replay time: 202s

Truetom has made a very aggressive pass on Blaz into turn 1, which included some light contact; Blaz stays close behind through turn 2, and is then caught out by Tom's early braking into Lamy (turn 3).

In isolation, the turn 3 incident would normally warrant a three place penalty for avoidable contact on the first flying lap. However, I'm mindful of both the nature of TT's T1 pass, and Blaz's subsequent expectation that TT would brake later than he did for Lamy.

Server replay time: 204s

Mike Wrightson is following Luis Branco into Lamy; Luis is slowed up slightly by both Dan Minton overtaking him, and by the TrueTom/Blaz incident ahead, and Mike runs into the back of him, spinning Luis out.

On the first flying lap this would normally be a three place penalty; however, because of the incident ahead I believe Mike (who did not submit an incident report) would not have anticipated how much Luis was going to have to slow up in the corner.

Server replay time: 307s

Fozz is caught out slightly by Luis coming back through the field and has a moment in T1 which leaves him slow and off the racing line. As he moves back over onto the normal racing line, Jakob is trying to use his greater momentum to get alongside, and there is some light contact as Fozz moves left.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1673s

Dan Minton's Lister has caught Mark Jonzo's 911 to lap him, but runs into the back of him entering the Esses, spinning Mark out.

  • Dan Mintonpenalty — rear ending Mark Jonzo — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 2527s

Mark Jonzo is lapping Demonic Dan (longskater1969) going into turn 1. Mark passes Dan just as they reach the braking zone and starts to move back over before he's fully cleared Dan's Z3M; there is contact and they both go off, Mark retiring.

Had Mark stayed right until the end of the braking zone, Dan would've allowed him to go through even though he would've had to take T1 much slower than normal from being off line. Dan reported the incident but asked for it to be treated as an "advice only" report.

  • Mark J (Mark Jonzo)penalty — contact with Demonic Dan — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 2548s

Dan Minton has run wide in turn 1, and Luis sees the chance to get alongside and have a go into turn 2. There is some light contact in the turn.

  • Racing incident

The cars not in their native classes are all shown on the series home page - the Toledo is too fast for NGT (and too slow for GT) so it's in G2 and not eligible for points.

100 L in Saleen shows 55 minutes. Does lowering the rev limiter help to lower fuel usage? Can I gain 5 minutes this way?

Say yes and yes, please!  Grin

Well it will decrease your fuel usage, whether it'll show up in the garage is another matter. Certainly, if I concentrate on it, I can get very good fuel usage, there are a few spots on Estoril where you could make up a bit with minimal loos of time, the last few chicanes and last corner and the second-third corner spring to mind, it will of course cost you time tho.

You could also consider lengthening the gears slightly and/or short shifting. If you short shift but leave the rev limit alone you'll have something in reserve for that "must do" overtake.

Don't forget the first lap is at low speed so you can save a couple of mins fuel on the formation lap by driving conservatively.

Then again do you really want to drive the Saleen on mediums for an hour? or hards at all?

Mediums do last for about 45 minutes in Estoril (rear, fronts are fine for 60). I'm still not sure. I can get a good fuel usage, like you said, Fozz, if I drive alone and in peace. I'm not sure about it if I have to tussle for a position. Then I'll have to drive on the edge. But there are only two good overtaking spots in Estoril so you got a point again, Fozz, I can drive all the rest of the track more easily. I really don't know. Are other GT cars better in fuel matter or will all have to pit?

Good point about the first lap, Shark - definitely worth considering and trying, thanks.

Dave - good point about shortshifting. I just don't trust myself - I allways go for the reds, and even that's not enough. Even if I conciously shift sooner, when I'm in a duel, I forget all about it - and I'm in reds again.  Grin

Doh! I was scouring through the rules and regulations, but never looked at the front page!.
I'm really struggling with this track. For some reason I've never raced on it, even when I was racing in MARA and I can remember the last time I've spun off so many times.
I'm slowly getting the Mosler to behave roughly as I want and will be taking that over the Vertigo (Whilst great for the sweeping turns at Oscher,it's just too slow in a straight line).

Well Tom, gl if you try to go the distance on 1 set of boots. Man thats a ballsy move, my tyres look good after 30 mins, but degrade quite quickly after 40mins, must be heat build up on wear. So I'm going to 3 stop on softs front n rear.
