I'd like to see what people think of this proposal.

Instead of running 6 week series, how about we run 12 week series over a couple of iRacing seasons.

I'm beginning to think 6 week series are possibly a bit short?

If we had a 12 week season I'd expect to introduce some drop weeks, maybe go with 8/12 or 9/12 races counting?

This would be irrelevant of car choice. Week 13 could possibly be used for championship special events.

Personally I think its a great idea but with one suggestion, can we run one more 12 week series to take us to October and have a winter series and summer series. I suspect attendance may thin out over the next few weeks with the nice weather but come October we'll all be keen to run again.

Just my 0.02p

If we used multiple cars, I'd love a 12 week season - Race of Champions style, two rounds per car. Otherwise, that would be longer than I'd choose in the same vehicle with so much else out there.

Given the choice I'd like an opportunity to test what cars work in terms of racing on SROU, and then have a crystal clear vote on the two most popular cars to race for a long season - regardless of whether they're considered upper or lower class.

I'd certainly welcome a few drop weeks - it's virtually impossible for me to run all the events these days.

Cheers, Ross.

12 rounds is an awful long time to keep people interested if it's spread over 24 actual weeks. Undecided

I agree with Dave - 12 weeks would be too long. I always thought that 8 weeks was a good compromise. I also like the idea of a dropped weeks as the title is decided in many cases by the fact that drivers have to miss the odd race. You don't want too many though or people cherry pick the tracks. If there were 8 rounds then 2 dropped would be plenty. If we stayed with 6 then 1 would be OK. With 12 then no more than 3, possibly 2.

24 weeks is a long time - agreed, but I think it's inevitable that there's going to be a drop off in the number of people as the season progresses.  I think 6 rounds is too short though.

What's the score with regards to Sunday evening?  How much of an overlap is there with GTR2 nowadays?

I'd be inclined to have a 12 week, 12 race season on a Tuesday, and then to have an enduro running on a Sunday.

I've been trying to protect that spot because GTR2 grids are already struggling and doing anything that'll depress them further could have a pretty serious impact on our ability to raise donations to cover the cost of the server and subsequently the future of P&G too.

8-10 weeks would be good with 1-2 rounds dropped for holidays for me.

I would like to race twice a week cause I don't feel like I'm currently getting my money's worth from iRacing with just one race a week too.

If we were running an 8 week season would we be looking to run weeks 3-10 of the iR season?  I guess we could have a couple of one off events either side of it?  That way we're not straddling two seasons, with the build differences that would likely bring with it.

An 8 race season would have to straddle a season as we race every other week.

Is it necessary that SRou runs along side iRacing seasons though?

It does also restrict the track choice a tad (and still include too many "free" tracks).

Does SRou not just want to do whatever it sees is best for itself and ignore whatever iRacing is doing? As we've seen in the past you can't even guarantee they aren't going to change the physics half way through their own season (more than once!) so there isn't even the sticking to one build for the whole season argument.

Ideally I'd like to schedule what we think is best but there is a consideration of the iRacing seasons, downtime with week 13 and new builds affecting proceedings.

So... I'm thinking a 9 week schedule (with drops) would possibly be best so 2 SRouk seasons = 3 iRacing seasons.

In the past people have asked to mirror the official schedule where possible, this makes sense so I will continue to do so where appropriate but I'm not going to base our schedule around it.
