That sounds a good compromise, we would keep the current alternate week format for two championships I take it Pops?

Thanks

Yeah, I think so. It seems to work.

I not sure I like the idea of being stuck in one car for a long period of time, especially if it's a car I can't get on with.  Undecided

Things change in iRacing fairly quickly so we need to take account of that. We're learning somethinng about league racing in iRacing with every new build.

One idea I did have was instead of two 6 week seasons, maybe we could have one 12 week season with three cars, e.g. 4 weeks in the Skip, 4 in the Mazda and 4 in the Indycar. Personally I think that would be cool.
But I like these thoughts from Pops in the same discussion for last season (so much so, I remembered them Grin).

Cars seem to change so quickly in iR, one week a car is great, then they do another build a few weeks later & it's spoilt.
Running one car for 4 or even 6 weeks in a row helps you enjoy a car while it's good, rather then stretching a 6 race season out over 12 weeks where you might endure 1 or 2 build changes or worse. Roll Eyes
By the end of week 5, you'd know what other available car is driving well that can be used for the nest 6 week period. Minimising the risk of iR staff screwing with it.

I'd like to think that the chance of everything getting knackered by a new build is greatly reduced with each new build.

I for one don't want to be driving multiple cars in the same season, I'd rather stick to just the one.

Would you object to doing back to back 6 week seasons, instead of the side-by-side alternating weeks seasons that we currently do?

I would - I really like having 2 weeks between races.

I agree with Adam, and I forgot to mention earlier, the 'fiddling' should get less with each build so the characteristics of the car should remain in tact.

(Make sure you bookmark this post for later use so you can demonstrate how wrong I was Smiley)

I also like the alternating 2 week format so there's a good chance that it will stay. It's the season length I'm interested in.

So, what do people think of extending the current 6 week alternating series into a 9 week alternating series (with drop weeks)?

I don't object to it, although it was convenient to me personally to have our seasons match the official ones if only so that my series choices can be made as an integrated whole.

The current six race season would be my preference.

No objections here either.

I'm not seeing any strong desire to move to a longer series so I think I'm leaning towards leaving it as is.

In a blatant attempt to join you & Adam in 'that tree', I 100% agree with you Cheesy
