I'm taking on board that there are a few tracks that need a rest next season. So I've tried to shake things up a bit. Zandvoort (best race of last season?) Milwaukee (Oily flushed out that a LOT of us have this track ) Mosport (new track) Barber (new track) Laguna Seca (rested entirely last season) Silverstone (not used with the Mazda last season) I'm still mulling the idea of having a drop week which might help the anti-oval brigade.

Nice. I might have to sit Laguna out as my PC doesn't cope with the cork screw in anything quicker then a solstice...

Yep, it sure is. Not a fan of Laguna or Silverstone myself, but preferable to the two dropped tracks certainly. And roll on Milwaukee!!!

The point of a drop week is not to avoid the tracks you don't like or don't get on with, it's to help you not lose out because you happen to be on holiday or are unable to attend one or two weeks for some reason you can't get out of. Grrr, oval, grrr. Not a fan of Silverstone either, but can't expect to like them all I guess. I await to see what the other 3 tracks are when Pops increases the season length.

With the increased number of tracks comes the issue of track ownership - I guess people will just have to suck it up and get their wallet out?

There's no alternative to just use whatever tracks we need to otherwise the schedule will look too samey each season..

In the instance that we run some of the circuits already on the roster. Could we perhaps explore some of the different configurations? For example Silverstone, VIR and Watkins have numerous options.
It seems a shame to run the same version of a track each time the season schedule is drawn up.

Yeah, I'm intending to use some of the other layouts next season (VIR North for example). Silverstone will probably be the Historic etc.

They're all historic now unless iR come and rescan the track I guess ovals never change that much but with Bernie forever getting funny about F1 tracks and their suitability to hosting a GP it seems some road course are forever getting updated. I see rF has 2 versions of the new Silverstone layout. I can't see iR ever doing an update except for if they do we'll have to pay for it again to cover their scanning costs

Thank god, they've ruined it There are a few ovals that seem to have road courses in them that might be suitable.

I see rF has 2 versions of the new Silverstone layout. Has anyone else had a look at these? I had a quick look at the MMG version last night and it doesn't seem right to me, although obviously I haven't driven the new layout in real life, or even the old one for that matter!! Anyway the MMG version seems to have the new straights slightly to long imo. (That's the first two short straights of the new section)
