Problems connecting to the Lobby?  Download this:

Practice 1: 19:20 (60 mins)
Race: 20:30 (22 laps ~40 Minutes)

There will not be a qualifying session for this race. Starting order is determined reversing the average finish position found in this spreadsheet.
Please do not go out on track during the qualifying session. Your grid order will be set by the administrator manually.
New drivers to the series will start at the rear of the field sorted alphabetical descending (keeping the reverse theme here).

Cars allowed: Lotus Cortina Works
Track: Fuji Raceway 1970 (download)
Time of Day Setting: 12:00
Weather: Dry
Start: ROLLING

We'll do a rolling start for this round. Eventhough there are start lights on the left of the track, the driver in position 2 will have a difficult time seeing them. It will be a double file start like we in the states do with SCCA club racing. The lead driver will lead the field around at a reasonable pace. Take this time to warm up the brakes and tires. If you go off or spin the car on the pace lap, you must start at the end of the line. Do not regain your position. The lead driver should slow well before the last turn to ensure the rest of the field has packed together. The race starts as the lead driver rounds the last corner leading onto the start/finish straight. Use the lap timer at the upper right of your screen to trigger the start of the pace lap. Do not leave your starting spot till the timer starts or you will be charged with a stop/go penalty. The server will be set as a standing start, but we'll creating our own rolling start.

Tyre wear: 1X
Fuel consumption: 1X
Pit-stops: none required

Server: UKPnG
Password: see above

Championship standings

Notes:
(1) You must connect prior to the practice session ending. Any driver joining after the administrator starts to set the grid positions in the quali session must start at the rear of the field.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory 2.0 from here, 2.1 patch from here and enable terrain patch.
(4) P&G has no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function. You may go as fast as you like in the pits, but please exercise caution. Penalties will be handed out for causing contact in the pit lane. Use your best judgement when driving though the pit lane.

I was one of the gents who voted for the GT class before this season started, as I've had a season of ankle biters at MARA. So its doubly disappointing to see these reverse races involving cars from the same class as the regular stuff that simply don't excite me. Maybe just me Smiley

LOL

I didn't vote for the gutless wonders either and much prefer something with a bit of poke.

Sadly, Simon and I will be missing this one, as it is my daughter's wedding in York on the Friday.

Hope you all have fun but can we have a man's car for the next one?

I love the Cortina but must agree that a more suitable car choice could be found for this circuit. Porsche 911's perhaps?

I agree with all of you, especially with Tony for a race with a better car than Cortina here. I need more hp sometimes guys ^ ^

What's wrong with the Lotus Cortina? It's a damn good car for a cup race, good choice (for me ofcourse) this one! At least it is driveable unlike some other cars.  Grin

Paulo, nothing wrong at all with the Cortina.

The issue is whether an alternative choice would have suited this circuit better being as the Cortina is an "ankle biter" and folk tend to want the other classes used more for this Reverse Grid series.

My choice for the handicapped series was the GT cars, but the ankle biters do produce some close racing. The remainder of the reverse grid schedule will feature quicker cars.
  • Porsche 906 Langneck at Lemans
  • 911 IROC at Jarama
  • white Z06 vs. Ferrari 275 GTB at Watkins Glen

I chose the Cortina here because it is extremely difficult to control the quicker cars in the banked turn. It's almost like a crap shoot to make that turn in the more powerful machinery and didn't want to frustrate people.

Well imho anyone who raced around the 1970 configuration of Fuji in anything faster than a shopping trolley must have been bonkers. T1 is a chicken run even in the tina and I would imagine is enough of a challenge for most.

As for the rest of the season, it's looking pretty mouthwatering by me Mike. Cool

Groan on the choice of car too i'm afraid. Not a fan of the ankle biters on anything other than clubmens tracks and Fuji is plenty big enough for a more powerful car choice being an F1 circuit. We had several great races here in GTL using a good variety of cars.  Sad  GT40's would have been cool here. The tinas going to take forever to get down that long ol straight ! Lips Sealed

I thought T1 was the easy bit, its the rest of the track I can't get right!   Sad

Hi Giuseppe, I'm Matteo Santini of VDA team. We used to race in ROTW championship, and some of us, use to race here since more than one year. Nice to see you in this place, I hope we'll have some duels during the next races.

Welcome aboard, I hope to see you on Thursday for some good races!
