I have manage 2 laps under a minute but most are around 1.00.5 ish  .I too love Palace as a track and race off line there a lot , the way the car seems to slide through some of the bends is lovely.

But i tend to miss the braking point at T1  a lot but i can control it most times keeping it out of the wall .

I was going to try this one, like a blast from the past, Crystal Palace in 60s cars, back when I was competitive in GTL races, lol.  See how I am tonight.

Got the e-type just under 58.6, if I could actually put together my best sectors there is another 3 tenths to gain, but it's devilishly difficult to max every corner when you are on the ragged edge.  A simple track but one of the hardest to get a perfect lap.

Healey is a little slower, but I did try it first when re-learning the lines.

Disaster. Qualified 4th, had a good battle with Tom and Ade but eventually lost it at the last bend, straight into the pit lane. Then the auto pilot came on and made a complete hash of pitting me  censored. Lost a lap because of it, and was last. I was still making mistakes and didn't want to make a mess of things so retired there and then.

Very hot and sticky race, managed to qual with a high 58, which was ok, got mugged at the start as expected
(I can get the jag moving way easier than the David Brown Tractor) But nipped past Sam as he had a wobble
and tried to keep up with Sqrty and GT, but never quite got the 4th turn over the brow right all race
and a low 59 was best I could manage, The tryes were wearing badly in the last 10 laps, the left were both red
the rear slightly more than the front, the opposite of what had been happening in prac, so had to adapt to a
slidey tank, only time I fell off was when lapping Seniorlobo who moved over perfectly well , but I was off line
into T1 and lost it under braking and hit the wall quite hard, didn't seem to slow the car much, but It made the
gap to Ade behind drop from 8.8 to 2.3 secs  Shocked then him and Legzy were slowing each other for a bit, Legzy got
past and caught me with a few to go, but catching is one thing  etc... the Big old Aston flies down the straight
and is hard to pass with a Squealy, so kept 3rd by the thread of the tyres. Good race, I love the Aston even
though I was a few tenths faster in the Jag, I still took it for the masochism value.  laugh

After a slow and cautious start i worked my way up to 7th  after an E Type spun on S/F straight then having caught Tony' s Aston and following he spun at T1/2 i had no chance to avoid him T-Boned him into a roll ,which blocked the track and caused mayhem as i had stalled and struggled to restart.
Having got the engine fired up i was 10 th passed a Healey Coupe facing the wrong way and then an E type having a moment i ended up behind Tony again on the last lap in 8th .

Again i must say sorry for the roll on the Aston  in RL that was not hard enough to roll a stationary Aston . Huh

Wasn't sure if I would be around in time for this, so had only done a couple of laps in each car. Fortunately knew the track from PnG but was amazed to bag poll. Made a nice start and managed to be far enough in front of Sqter not to drive in my mirrors, until I lost concentration and made a big mistake allowing him through. Usual thing after that, tried to push on but then started making a series of stupid errors.

Well done to Sqter on the win and to Matt for getting the Aston home in 3rd.  Cool

Joined the server & managed to squeeze in 3 laps... car felt tottaly different to last night Roll Eyes & I was plum last. laugh

Started very cautiously & was disappointed impressed when everyone made it through T1/2...

Picked people off slowly & had some nice little dices along the way.  Cool

Worked upto & caught Ade & stuck to his rear for many a lap, till I got past. That was short lived as somebody got themselves stranded in the middle of the T2 right hander, I couldn't stop my slide to miss him & Ade was ahead again! laugh
Worked my way back up to Ade & took no prisoners this time, as I could see Matt ahead now too.

nailed myself to his rear bumper for the last 2 laps but was shocked on the the entry into that same right-hander T2 at how slow he was & I had to take avoiding action Shocked... made up the 1sec plus on the rest of that lap & was once again shocked/caught out at his cornering "pace" Wink & again dropped back over 1.5 secs... got back to his rear bumper as we exited the last bend.... oh for another couple of laps! taz laugh

Good racing all, big congrats to Ade for a sterling performance in what was likely the slowest car Undecided & to Matt for clinging onto that DB4 beast. My intention is to get myself in that for the next round if I get proper time to practise. yes

Yep
The Aston is a bit of a "whale" in a fast left into a tight right, is a pig to stop, the brakes are much worse than
the Jag or Healey, and I have to downshift hard to get the back to come round, and it's a fine line between
slowing for the corner and putting it into the fence, Sorry it put you off.
Wait till next week at Mallory! that hairpin right is quite spectacular in the Big Tractor...
