Good enjoyable race on one of my favourite tracks (have enjoyed that track in GTL, then PnG, then iR & now GTR2. Awesome! Cool).

Good turn out for a test too, hope to see you all back next week & for as much of the season as poss Wink

Only dissapointment really, was it turned out to be another "dry" race. The weather conditions on the server were saying a bit of rain at the end there, but I couldn't see any. Will have to look at the weather file when Picnic uploads it & see if it was in that 'marginal' area again when it's just overcast. Undecided

TT, you owe me £10 Cool. I told you Jeff would get the 1st post race comment & he would be disappointed about the lack of rain. Grin

Just let me know if you want the lottery numbers Wink

Heh, I didn't dare Alt-Tabbing to see the forecast. Good. I would fret a lot more during the race and probably develop a wise st00pid pit-strategy. Cheesy
Good race for me. Almost got the car into wall while being scared distacted by a bumblebee buzzing round my head. The thing was as big as a sparrow! scared Fortunately it was a time to pit and I fended the danger off safely. angel JB and JR blink were a bit quicker than me, oh by a minute or so. Third feels like a win. Wink
Great job, GTCs very helpful while lapping. No problem with carpack and track. Welcome to some new drivers, hope you stay and race with us. Smiley

Good job Legzy and his elves. Cool

P.S. @Legzy: is it payable in beer? Wink

Well, first race here at UKGTR, I am noob in GTR2 (used to play LFS) and was totally out of pace. However, I'm really happy I've finished the race because I am not used to 1 hour races. I would like to apologize if I disturbed someone when I was being lapped.

See you.
Thx.

Just looking into that at the moment. We should have seen overcast conditions for definite. So far I have run a similar weather file to what we should have had. I have run this off line and all seemed good. Just about to try on line.

I will start a thread soon so I can get some feed back. Hopefully it will work OK soon. Roll Eyes

Nice track, good turn out. Rock on. Cool

I saw no problems with the track. Smiley

I was having a nice race for a while and then managed to loose control a few times, sorry to anyone I messed up. I also managed to get 2 stop and gos for speeding in the pit lane. The speed checker in the pit works fine. Grin

Welcome new drivers and well done podiums.

Seemed OK on line as well.

Conclusion; just because it works on my dedicated server does not mean it will work on UKGTR server. Sad

Further investigation is required.

The dedicated server doesn't time scale the same way the in-game server does. I believe it also depends on what scaling is set in the track .GDB.

Good fun sliding the RS around last night. I like the flow of the Glen, but when things go wrong it does tend to bite hard as I found to my cost. Had nice battles with Spanner and Lazlow up to my stop. Elected not to change my soft/meds expecting rain later and a quick pit onto inters or wets. The rain held off and my laptimes fell and I eventually crashed heavily. Pitted for long repairs but decided to call it a night shortly afterwards.

Not a criticism as I can only imagine the amount of work put in to creating changeable weather, but imho it has to be more reliable if we are going to use it.

I like the fact that the changeable weather is unreliable. We don't know what the real weather will bring although, we have a good idea within 30 minutes. In the real world, guys don't dive to the pit lane for wets till it is raining.

I didn't change onto wets/inters Mike, just gambled on keeping my soft/med tyres anticipating a change later if/when the rain came as had been forecast. My left front was up to 25 by the time I crashed at 50 mins and I'm just not used to running with this kind of wear  Shocked

Good fun last night, thankfully when I checked the underground weather it said 30% chance of rain which I took to mean it wouldn't rain... and I was right.  Cool  more luck than judgement it would seem.
had a terrible few opening laps and lost a place to leggzy. managed to get it back and then just put my head down and stayed out of trouble.
had a couple of moments with GT1s trying to take me on bends (one person went off tyring this).
Had a good pit stop plan which worked out great and got me a to within 5 secs of mike, but I didn't have the pace to stay that close and dropped further and further back every lap.
last lap I was in 3rd (for class) and had Lazlow 10 secs behind me. Span the car while being overtaken by a GT1 which put Lazlow 1 second behind me and on the last lap I crumbled and went very wide on a right hander and ended up settling for 4th (in class)

So the 997 seemed to be stuttering through some of the gears.... it sounded like it had a missfire lol. anyone else notice this?
I'm not sure if it is was something to do with my setup or an underlying problem with the car?.  Hope it's not a problem with
the car itself because I was planning on using it for the S13.

Thanks again to Leggzy and all for organising yet another great race. and congrats to podiums...
